This company were not only very responsive, including the owner, but they did an outstanding job in reassuring us that our puppy was in great hands! We started by making an account and profile on Chloe and it was so easy and user friendly! We then chose our time of day we wanted them to come and our preferences of how many times and how long we wanted the pet sitter to stay. When everything was booked, we met Cassandra and Alisha and Chloe loved them RIGHT away! That was something my husband and I really liked, is that the sitters who would be watching her, met her prior to us going away. All of this happened in a span of 2 weeks since our original plans of who would watch Chloe fell through. During the trip, Cassandra and Alisha were AMAZING! We received email updates with pictures after every bedtime visit (we chose 3 visits a day with just one update but you can customize to however you want!). Those pictures and updates are what got us through the week! It was great because the girls not only cleaned up fuzz and animal pieces from her toys, but also helped clean the containers that had her food in them. During that week, Chloe was on a special diet of chicken and rice as well as medicine and a powder probiotic. the girls did WONDERFUL with managing that entire situation. Jessica, the owner was also beyond amazing for getting back to us so quickly when it was the day before we left for our vacation and she had to be put on all of this medicine and special diet. This company was amazing and we will most definitely be using them again in the future and going to be requesting the same 2 girls since Chloe loved them so much! We we're going out of town for a few days and needed someone to check in and feed our dog. Prior to our trip we met for about a half hour to have her meet our dog, Holly, and go over the details. We chose for her to stop in 2 times per day, which covered feeding, company and walks. Holly, who is rather shy, warmed up to April very nicely. She was kind and gentle. While on our trip, at the end if each day, we received a brief summary of the visit and she also provided a few pics. We are very happy with AAA Pet Sitting and will definitely hire them again. I appreciate the attention to detail, but you need to listen to feedback from many customers - this is way too much time to put on the customer and the content is just too much! I recently moved to Maine and contacted Kara's Petcare on the recommendation of my vet. I was so…read moreexcited because it seemed like they would be able to offer daycare for my dogs and some auxiliary training if needed. They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.

The inside was small, smelled awful, and there had to be at least 60 dogs crammed in there, with cages stacked and dogs locked up - despite their claim of being cage-free. There was a gross, dirty, stinking mop bucket, and I even saw pee and feces on the floor, which could have just happened, but no excuse for the smell and gross black water in the mop bucket. It became common sense to me when I was told they get 60-80 dogs a day - there's no way all those dogs could be playing like they advertise. That's when I was dying to see the inside. When I finally did, I was shocked - it was just a small, open space room, sectioned off with no real room for the dogs to move. Now, imagine you're me, standing there, and you see most of the dogs stacked in cages, locked in with nowhere to go. It was truly shocking and sad, and I knew then that we were being lied to and cheated. Their so-called 'outdoor' space is a complete joke. If you drive around the back, you'll see it for yourself - just a narrow strip of asphalt parking lot. Now, imagine that already tight space cut up into even smaller sections, not even one whole area, just little blocks where dogs can barely turn around. Everything I've shared is true, and you can do the research and see it with your own eyes. After what I saw, we pulled our dog out of this place and forfeited our remaining package. We weren't about to pay for our dog to be caged - we could do that at home. If you care about your dog's well-being, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere."

We enrolled our puppy (Merritt) in their Board & Train program with Trainer Greg and Trainer Kay, and we couldn't be happier with the results. From the very beginning, Greg and Kay were knowledgeable, patient, caring, and truly invested in helping our puppy learn and succeed. They worked on training, manners, and confidence while also making sure Merritt was happy and well cared for throughout the entire program. We saw such a positive difference in our puppy, and we came home with not only a better-trained dog, but also the tools and guidance we needed to continue reinforcing everything at home. We are so grateful to Greg and Kay for all of their hard work and dedication. We highly recommend The Barking Dog to anyone looking for quality training and exceptional care. We agreed on a day and time for me to bring my cat and the day before she asked if I could come at 9:00am instead of 9:30am because she was heading out for 2 hours at 9:15!! WHAT?? She thought nothing of having me bring my cat who had never been there before, shove him in a crate and the leave right after he gets there for 2 hours? The whole point of me bringing him was for her to meet him, see how he does. When I asked if it might be better to bring him later that day when she would be around, she said no I'm having company!! Again WHAT?? How much attention and time was she planning on spending with my cat who would probably have been frightened as can be. I would NEVER bring my cat there and I'm so happy that I learned what she's truly all about beforehand. Looks can be deceiving!!
