This owner, Dorinne Whynott has horrible business practices. I called to enroll in this pet sitting service for my 10 month old puppy. Dorinne returned my call and then set up an appointment with me, to go over a number of questions and answers over the phone. It took approximately 20 minutes (I only have one pet to inquire about). At that time I was asked to provide a credit card number. She then said it would be charged $20 for the enrollment and then I can provide a check etc, when the sitter comes to my home. I had no issue with that. However!!! -She never even provided me with a copy of the contract. -She just charged my credit card, without my authorization! I would think that a signed agreement/contract would have to be agreed upon, before charging my credit card?. After my card was charged, I never even saw a contract or agreement. This woman never came to my home. This woman's staff, never came to my home. Bottom line here...I never received or signed anything. Yet, she charged my credit card without my authorization. Beware, she is a scam and will charge your card without you ever signing a contract. She has since re-worded her website regarding the fees. -Must have been because so many people were complaining about her sideways business practices? read more

The sitters employed by this company have all been background checked and it makes it a lot easier to trust letting them into my home knowing that they have been thoroughly vetted. I also love that they have back up plans for any unforeseen circumstances. i.e. if your pet sitter gets into an accident on the way to take care of your pets they have spare keys and can have another sitter on the way immediately. They have ALWAYS shown up and taken care of our pets as requested, and have even gone above and beyond on several occasions by giving our pets extra walks, etc. We do not have family nearby, so they have been a life saver for us when we've needed to make unexpected trips out of state. We have been using them for almost 2 years. In response to other reviews I just wanted to say that I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with this business. Dori has always done exactly what she said in regard to charges to credit cards, etc. Have never had any issue with any "fraudulent" charges. I understand that people get frustrated with long registration processes, but if time is taken to look at the questions asked, the questions relate directly to your animals and the information is pretty vital to being able to give your pets the best care. I see some of these reviews and I am glad that I came on here because I hope people don't get the wrong idea about this company! I LOVE them and so do my boys (I have 2 Shepherds). I was nervous at first about leaving my boys at home when I went back to work full time. I called Professional Pet Sitting and they really put me at ease about leaving them during the day. I did have to go through a registration process which basically asked a lot of information about my boys, what they like to do and how they could make them happy and get the most out of the time the petsitter would be spending with them. I thought that was really great. The registration did have a fee but I was told that if I had dates that I needed within 30 days of registering , the money would then be credited to my account with them (which it did, YAY FREE VISIT!) So I am now doing mid days with them and my boys are so happy when I get home, you can tell they have had a lot of fun with the sitter and she always leaves me great notes about what they did and how the boys were for the day (Thank you so much Rita!) I really am glad that I found them and that I can trust somebody with my boys during the day to make sure they are happy. read more

I have no idea who this Paul is that gave such a bad review to Prof. Pet Sitting but then it is obvious he has some sort of ax to grind. His time would be better spent finding a job instead of debasing someone elses hard work. I have known this company for years and years and the owner and all she would hire are very caring people who put the animals and the animal owners first. She makes sure that all animal owners receive the very best pet sitters by being as strict in her hiring as she can possibly be. Apparently this Paul might have tried to get a job and did not like that but then no employer would hire one with a bad attitude. It sounds like he has more interest in who she does hire than the safety of the animals that would be in her companies care. It is now and always has been animals comfort and safety first. How sad that we have the poor Pauls of this world who try to hurt rather than help. I really feel sorry for him. Hope he has a much better life than what he shows here. read more

I've been a client for well over 5 years and couldn't be more pleased. In addition to being consistently reliable and accommodating, Dori, Rachel and the staff at Professional Pet Sitting, etc. continue to go above and beyond with regards to any concern I've encountered with my two cats. About a year ago, Henry developed a liver problem and required tube feeds three times a day for several weeks before he could eat on his own. I don't know how I would have managed if Rachel hadn't been available to help me with his feeds. Even more recently, Oskkar stopped routinely using his litter box and after several unsuccessful attempts with new litters, boxes, etc., Dori spent an unbelievable amount of time troubleshooting the problem with me and came up with a strategy that has my household well on the way back to normalcy (thank god). My husband and I have been customers here for the past nine years. The service is as close to perfect as it gets. Your petsitter feeds and plays with your animals and they leave notes about what happens. The notes always capture the animals' individual personalities which demonstrates they are taking the time to really know your pets. The flexibility noted in a previous review was key for us when my mother was suffering from a terminal illness. It was nice not to have something extra to worry about during that time. I would also like to note that we appreciated the thoroughness of the application process. When I saw the application, we knew that this company was the one for us. Nothing is left to chance. I love this pet sitting service. We have three elderly cats who need lots of meds + extra care. Dori, Rachelle, and the other pet sitters always do a great job. They are very clear about how we need to set things up, which takes a little work, but is worth every minute of setup time. We come home to happy, healthy, relaxed cats who seem to care less that we were away (possibly even a little disappointed that we've returned). This gives us great peace of mind. Dori was also very responsive and helpful in a recent situation when one of our mostly indoor cats ran off outside and didn't come back for over a week. I'm certain that following Dori's suggestion to put a box out on the porch for the cat to sleep/hide in helped her feel safer about coming home. Thank you, thank you! We use PPS, Etc., every time my husband and I go away we call Dori to get a pet sitter in to take care of our boys, Ronin and Cypher. It is a great piece of mind to know our boys are home, safe, and well taken care of when we are out of state. We have had great experiences every time we leave the boys at the house with the pet sitter. The boys love Rita - our usual pet sitter. This service is invaluable as it provides piece of mind when you are away - your pets are safe, at home, well taken care of, not susceptable to diseases or sicknesses if they were away at boarding. I have been with Professional Pet Sitting, Etc for about 1 year now. The registration was simple and easy. They explained everything to me. It does sound like the employees are reading a script when talking to you, but I think that was a good thing. The registration fee I paid was applied to my account if I had service in the first month (which I did). The pet sitter that came to my house was wonderful and treated my dogs great. My dogs love when she comes over and knows its playtime. I am glad Professional Pet Sitting, Etc exists because I know my dogs are cared for when I am at work. read more

I have been a customer for many years of Professional Pet Sitting etc. They have always worked with me when I had an emergency, provided stellar service to my cats, and been a wonderful asset in time of need. Once set up with them, it is so easy to schedule the care I need for my beautiful cats. Dori and her staff are wonderful! Used them to care for my cats while I was away and I wouldn't trust anyone else! So professional and friendly I couldn't feel more comfortable with them caring for my animals. I would highly recommend them if you need to watch your animals. I've used Prof. Pet Sitting since 1995. The sitters have always been wonderful and compassionate. It gave me great peace in the thoroughness of how they got to know my pets and how I feed, walk and care for all of my pets that I have had in these past years.
