Wasn't having the best of days. Decided one of the things that always brings a smile on my face are doggies. We use to have 4 ourselves but our last one passed last year. So we came to this dog park and oh man did we have the best time. First off they have so much space to run and there's 2 sections. One section is for the smaller the other bigger. We went by the bigger dog section first and it was hilarious. Once they were let off their leashes they went running around like crazy, running over our feet at times, chasing balls, or making new friends. Some dogs came up to us wagging their tails and the owners were all cool to let us pet them. On the smaller dog section there were alot of pups with big attitudes. It was hilarious. It was like they wanted their presence to be known. Alot more barking on this section but it was great. It was nice seeing alot of different breeds on both sections and how friendly all the dogs got along with eachother. For some people who werent to sure how their dogs would react they would walk them in with their leashes still attached. I really liked that all the doggies had a place to go to have fun, run around, meet new paw friends and even train on some.of the platforms placed. There are bathrooms onsite for the owners and there are bags provided to clean up after your dog. Also in each section are water fountains for both big and small dogs. When its time to go theres a doggy food truck with so many cute treats for all the doggies and dont worry, they have some human treats as well. They had treats like cookies, doggie bones, and even ice cream. Talk about a great spot for all your puppers, you definitely need to check it out whether you have a dog or not..its all smiles here!

Took my mini Aussie here today and she had a blast! It wasn't too packed at 3pm but there were a few dogs around so she made some friends. We ran around and jumped over the agility ramp a few times; she loved it!! The owners were friendly and picked up after their dogs. One thing to note, my dog is 16 lbs so I was a little intimidated and unhappy when some people brought their larger dogs into the small dog side. Even if your dog is friendly, it can really scare the smaller dogs and their owners so please don't do that (there's a reason for the two different fenced areas!). It was my dog's first trip to a busy dog park and she was a bit freaked out by the big dogs. I grew up with big dogs so I love them but my dog has been attacked twice by large dogs whose owners claimed they were friendly and well behaved. There isn't much shade here so we didn't stay long, it was close to 90 when we went and we were running around the whole time. Parking looks to be an issue at peak times but it was ok today.

I've never had an issue with the place. It's actually a huge dark park divided into two parts. One for small dogs and one for bigger ones each section is pretty big as well. They have a few benches for people to sit on and they also have a walking trail that goes around the park Incase you want to walk. In regards to things that the park has for dogs to it has obviously other dogs for them to play with which they enjoy a lot, there's a water fountain for them and a shower like the kind that they have at the beach for you to wash sand off, and a grass field as well. The parking is two small parking lots and some parallel parking I've never really had an issue with it but maybe it's because it's not always packed when I go I guess I'm lucky because the parking gets full after.

LOVE LOVE this park for my little one! They have 2 sections, the left side is for large dogs (35 pounds or higher), right side is for small dogs (under 35 pounds) park does tend to get very packed especially after 6 pm when everyone gets out of work and parking can be an issue around this time. Parking is usually very clean and doggy bags are always available and they have a shelter with tables as well. 2 Bathrooms and water foundations are available when leaving as well!

Grass is usually well kept, despite what im reading in the reviews about poop being everywhere, i have yet to see a lot of poop. In fact ive never seen an unattended turd lol. Take ur dog here at your own risk since some people here fail to understand dog body language.

This is not a suggestion people, use the bags. For those that complain that the bag holder is empty. BRING YOUR OWN BAGS DUH!

I like this park, its a no frills county maintained park and in my opinion they do a pretty decent job with the maintenance of it. Heisenberg loves this park and he's a known regular at it since we visit 2-3 times a week, usually around 4-5ish. The people here are very friendly and the park has a walking around the neighborhood talking to the neighbors feel to it. Surprisingly enough its pretty quiet here and you wouldn't think that since its literally on located on the side of a busy road. Yeah not everyone picks up after their dogs (douchebags) but I'd say 90% of the owners do. The park is well maintained and clean and I really need to give it to the county for cleaning up the graffiti that some asshole left behind. pro's the built in puppy fountains the simple obstacles the conveniently placed human bathrooms the shade bungalows Woohoo they increased the parking area size con's built too close to a busy road making it a potentially lethal hazard if the dogs ever get out. the canal next to the park has the potential risk of having aquatic life visit the park.

    We love this dog park!

This has to be my favorite dog park in Miami. It's a long stretch of land located somewhat near the executive airport in Kendall. There is a ton of space for my dog to run around, sniff the grass and the trees and explore on his own. There are two sides each with it's own entrance and double gates fpr security. (Which only work to keep our doggies safe if people remember to close the door behind them!) One side is for dogs under 35lbs and the other side is for dogs over 35lbs. My dog is right on the cusp so I take him to either side. We usually prefer the former so we can play with frisbee. You'll some times find an ice cream truck parked out front. I once mentioned doggie ice cream to him, maybe he carries it now. I haven't seen him in a while so I can't be sure. Parking is limited so if you can, you should carpool. Remember to not bring food inside the park...and remember if he poops, you scoop!

The dogs really enjoyed their time. Very kid friendly. Has picnic tables do you could bring a snack ( pick up after yourself)

    Exhausted from the park!

It's an ok dog park. It's has a small dog side and big dog side. I also like the little obstacle stuff they put in it. My little shih tzu loves to run up the little stair obstacle. Unfortunately there are lots of people that come to this park that are new to dog parks, so they don't know about dog park etiquette. Some people do not pick up after their dog and walk around with their dog on a leash. So you have to either watch out for land mines or watch out for aggressive dogs. The dog park supplies the people with dog bags to pick up after the dog and a water area. The county is doing a good job keeping up with it.

Great park. 2 big and separate sides for small and large dogs. Always empty when i go so my shy pup has plenty of peace to explore.

The park features multiple large open fields, playgrounds, and baseball fields. There are also bathrooms conveniently located throughout. We visited for the Miramar Kite Festival, which was such a fun experience. The city did a fantastic job organizing the event. There were multiple food trucks, a DJ, and a variety of tent vendors, including the city, fire rescue, PDQ, and other local businesses. One of the highlights was that the city gave out free kites to all guests. The turnout was great, and the atmosphere was lively. One large field was dedicated to kite flying, while a baseball outfield was set up as a kids' zone with several bounce houses for different age groups. We brought a picnic setup and beach chairs and truly enjoyed spending the day here. Overall, it was a wonderful event, and this park is a great place to visit!

In 2003, the 98 acre Boystown campus was sold to Miami-Dade to become a park marking the history of Operation Pedro Pan, a secret exodus of over 14,000 Cuban minors, ages 6 to 18 to the United States over a two-year span from 1960 to 1962. Parents sent unaccompanied children to the United States amid fears sparked by the 1959 Cuban Revolution. Many were sheltered here upon their arrival. Today the name Camp Matecumbe is more closely associated with a new type of nature themed playground designed by LandscapeDE. They are a design firm that creates very distinctive and creative outdoor play spaces for children. If you ever saw one you would know it instantly. They created the amazing ADA accessible playground in Pinecrest Gardens with the anole lizard ramp, a small nature themed playground for Biscayne Shores & Gardens Park, and what I think is the best example of their work, the brand new play area in Pioneer Park in Port St. Lucie. While not as large as the playground in Pioneer Park, Camp Matecumbe has more than enough to keep children entertained for hours. Invasive plants were removed and the design was developed to incorporate the endangered Pine Rockland preserve that exists in the park. A highlight of the play area is a hill with a 20 foot long slide. To reach the top children can climb native oolite block steps or a slope covered in mortared river rock. Other playground elements include musical instruments such as bells, metallophones, and chimes, a play house, swings, and a climbing net The park also has paved walkways, native plants and trees, seating, and recovered cypress river logs from Florida. I love how the design of this park incorporates elements from nature resulting in a very inviting and sustainable play area where children can enjoy the outdoors while strengthening their bodies and developing their imagination.
