This is maybe the 4th chance I've given this place solely because it's affordable and the staff seems nice, but they are just so apathetic. Each time we call it's like the first time, there's never any record of what we've had done before and we're always starting over. When I dropped off my (reactive) on-leash dog there was a loose dog that walked right up to her face and not one of the three staff members standing there seemed alarmed or moved quickly to remedy what could have been a dangerous situation for both dogs. I had to step in the middle and pull my dog away while a staff member took her time coming around to grab the other dog. She apologized and nothing more happened, so I felt fine to leave my dog anyway. I Just picked up my dog and realized once we were home she has blood on her foot from her quick being cut. Not sure how I didn't notice before we left, but mostly how they didn't? I can't imagine she didn't cry when it happened? Or they didn't see blood on the floor at her feet because it's all over my house. I called to let them know and got another apathetic "oh that'll happen" response, so I won't be returning. I hope they can get their act together or at least pretend to care for their other customers. read more

Ashley who grooms my Aussie is one of the best groomers I have even used. She is not why I give this 4 stars. The counter people are another story. Each time I get there i get another person and often a young person that seem disorganized. When I pick up my dog it is the same and I get asked to pay and leave a tip before I get to look at my dog. I have never had to chance to take to Ashley when picking her up or personally giving her my tip for a great job. This is just my experience and I will still go there as long a s Ashley is there. Wow! Very clean, non-smelly dog grooming place. I had been looking for a dog barking place where you can bathe your own dog. I love being able to use proper tubs and supplies for bathing my mutts. i have a 120 pound newfie. let's start there. i typically have him shaved (and founf out they have great prices on grooming), but decided to self wash. i got the tutorial (learned how to clean ears) without feeling rushed at all. i made an appointment , so didn't have to wait. oatmeal shampoo and coconut rinse (for my dog's dryness) was the same price. super nice people (and dogs), too. can't say enough good things.... read more

Best first customer experience ever! They were super helpful and very knowledgeable about our dog behavior and recommend food and products that best fit our needs and budget. Our husky was terrified when he walked in the door but by the end of the experience he was a very happy dog. Recently our dog had a horrible experience at Bark Ave. We had him shaved and it resulted in major razor burns through almost half his body. It was so bad we had to take him to the vet. Now he has a cone and is on medication for two weeks. I called to Bark Ave and was told they very sorry and someone would get back to me. Well, that never happened. I called again today and was told no one was available to help. I was waiting to write a review to see how they handled it but they failed. Be careful of how they treat your pet because they apparently don't care. read more

I brought my Siberian Husky in and she has been blowing her undercoat like crazy. Bark Avenue did a fantastic job dealing with the snowstorm that sled dogs can be during the changing seasons. Chose this place based on reviews, but my puppy didn't smell clean when I picked her up. Also, her nails were cut, but not filed. I'm not sure if it was extra cost, but it would've been nice if they offered the filing. Prices were low, so you get what you pay for. read more

Seriously people, I have the naughtiest dog ever and I take full responsibility for not training the adorable little monster better. Walter White (my puppy)has literally been 86d from other groomers. He has done the doggie equivalent of getting drunk, taking off his top and dancing on the bar (not that I know from personal experience that that's how you get 86d mind you...I would NEVER). Here's my point, sorry to belabor I just really love writing amazing reviews of amazing places. The people at Bark Avenue are the most relaxed, genuine, patient, kind, and professional of any groomers I've ever taken my dogs to. Trust me there are probably 20 places closer to me that I won't be going to because of the care my awful little beastie receives at Bark. Their prices are great and the do-it-yourself option adds to that. Thank you so much for loving on my furry baby who needs to go to puppy prison for trying to eat one of your employees. Awesome place to take your pup for a wash. The staff is super kind and extremely helpful. Our Sasha is older with bad hips and is a little shaky around other dogs. This place made it super easy to bathe her and the did her nails with care. Thank you ladies you were awesome!!! read more

I took my chow/shepherd to Bark Avenue for the first time. I was told I would get a call when his shampoo/trim was finished. I finally went back about 4 hours later and was told, "We left you a message that he was ready". Um. No. No record of a call or a message on my phone. Got home and kept finding long patches sticking out and I had to keep trimming. On top of that, the next day diarrhea started. Took him to the vet to find out he got a parasite from the crate he was in - $187 later he was better. Wrote to the owner to let her know what had happened. Waited for a response. The owner never replied to my email. Will NEVER go back again and cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

This may be a ok place for do it yoursef dog washing but the grooming service was unacceptable, without compassion, unprofessional and frankly not very good.. We gave the groomer written instructions because we took all three of our dogs in for a groom. We have found this the best way to let them know what we want for each dog. The instructions said puppy cut .....which does not include shaving the face. In an attempt to get the eye goo off our dog's face they used a razor. They razor burned our poodle's face so badly we are afraid she will scar. When we took her back to show them how bad the burn was, the groomer tried to say our dog was sensitive to the clippers. NOT BUYING THAT!!!! Our poodle has been groomed every 2 or 3 months for her entire life...she has never had any type of sensitivity to razors. The owner of the shop was aware we were bringing our dog in so she could see the severity of the burn. When we arrived she was in the phone with some type of computer support...she did everything not to have to speak with us and take care of this issue. We paid 180.00 for the three dogs plus a 40.00 tip...there was no compassion for the fact the dog was hurting and not any type of resolution or medication offered.. We understand mistakes happen, we are not picky people, but when you hurt an animal, even on accident, then dont own the error and dont offer any type of resolution then you should not be working in the animal business. This is a self service dog wash/groomer. For an inexpensive price they provide everything you need to bathe and groom your dog of any size. I used them for the first time yesterday. I have a 50 lb. & 70lb. dog. There was no appt. necessary and they were very nice and helpful. It was less than $30.00 for both of my dogs and included shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, brushes, towells, and air dryer. The best part is that they clean everything up when you're done:)! They also provide grooming services if you want to drop off your dog. read more

I have an Old English Sheepdog...she goes to Bark Ave to get groomed and I would not take her anywhere else. When she goes there she comes home clean and smelling wonderful...and STAYS clean for at least 2 wks...They are always happy to see her and treat her very well!!! I cannot sing my praises for this place enough. My mom brought my two in on Sunday, one is a Shitzu mix the other a Lhasa Apso mix with quite unruly fur when it grows out. Both being rescues, my Ziggy has horrible anxiety problems and Henley is just a tad dramatic. I have been to many grooming places that cut corners and this place does it ALL for an affordable price. Not only did they handle my high Matienence pups very well, but their grooming is excellent and by far the best they've looked and felt. I had scheduled a grooming appt this morning for my Cairn Terrier @ Petsmart. When we took her in they didn't have the time or date right, so we bagged it and went to Bark Avenue to see if they could squeeze her in for a bath and cut. Sure enough, they said they could (she desperately needed it!) Ashley asked what we wanted and said she'd be done in a couple of hours. Less than 2 hours later we were presented with a clean, beautiful pup! Ashley did a wonderful job! She's a sweetheart. All of the people @ Bark Avenue are super nice and accommodating.
