When we walked in we noticed that "Bargain" aisles are to the right, and this is where you can find great prices on name brand canned and boxed goods. There are some items in those aisles that are near expiration or expired, so you can pick and choose what you are comfortable purchasing. We also found decent prices on spaghetti sauce, cereal, and other dry goods. There are other items on display and scattered about that are priced regularly or higher than what I've seen elsewhere. We were also able to purchase fresh milk, cheese, yogurt, and frozen foods that were priced well. Overall it's a great place to bargain hunt and to stock up. They also have outdoor/garden items. I love this store! Yes, a lot of the items are out of date BUT they still taste great. Just check for mold and that it still looks good. Expiration dates don't really mean much on the shelf stable items in my opinion lol. Most of the food is significantly cheaper than it is at the chain stores and they do have weekly bargain items that are great. I got 4 pack boxes of ratio yogurt, not expired, for $1.29 a box rather than the $7 or so dollars in chain stores. Definitely worth the visit and the staff has always been really nice! read more

The name says it all. This place is essentially a warehouse with dry goods that will expire before too long and an interesting collection of animal feed and odd yard tools. The produce was good quality. I haven't bought enough meat to comment on it. But if you are planning a big bbq, church, or community event, this place is a savings gold mine. read more

I was recommended to check this place out from a mentor at my previous job. I thought it sounded like a great place to find some good deals so I went over to check it out. Unfortunately that was not the case. First of all, when you walk in it immediately smells dingy. So it already wasn't a great start. Upon further investigation, I learned that this store didn't have any actual deals. The prices were either the same as regular grocery stores or much more expensive. And for old and/or dirty merchandise. For instance, a 12 pack of sodas were $7.00. That is not a bargain. I actually found a block of cheese that had a huge mold spot on it on an end cap of cheese. When I found this, I immediately decided to leave. I wouldn't recommend this store. It is dirty and there aren't any bargains to be found. I have visited much better discount and overstock stores in the past. read more

I tried giving this place a chance because of its amazing selection of food and great prices. But then you realize why it's all so cheap, cause everything is either a few days until or way past their expiration date. That I could live with, digging through rows and stacks of food until I finally came across a box that wasn't going to expire until this weekend, but I drew the line when I picked up a case of cookies and found a ***maggot***crawling on the side of it!!! I don't think I've ever ran out of a store that fast. I was Barry Allen. This store has cut our food bill down so much. You can get just about anything on your list. 20# of chicken breasts for around $20, organic selections, and I have rarely gotten anything that was bad. The occasional stale item is very worth the incredible savings we get here. Most of the produce and cold items are offered for convenience and sometimes aren't discounted, fyi. Bargains is a great place to save $$. Just like any grocery store, you have to look and compare. Many people state the dates are close to expiration, however, these are only sell by dates meaning the product is still fine. Canned goods have a shelf life of 2 years. Most dried goods range anywhere from 3 mos - 2 yrs. This is not your typical grocery store. They don't take coupons. There are no real "sales" - but you will find good deals. Many of the items in this store are from closeouts, damages, or out of dates. Sometimes the items are from varieties that didn't quite make it - or were regional only (and not this region!). Some items are fresh and brought in by vendors (and still quite IN date) but they are still discounted. Don't freak out. Most of the "sell by" dates on canned goods and the like are just that, sell by. And, MANY of the items are quite IN date - just check everything you pick up. I've been shopping here for several years and have had only a few items that weren't still good. They will take your item back and give you a store credit - just keep your receipt. I got a *full shopping cart* full of groceries for $52. Most of that was canned goods. For instance, I got 3 cans of sliced carrots for $1. A case (12 cans) of tomato paste was $2.50, white Balsamic Vinegar(a high end brand) for $.59. 5 *big* jars of pickles for $.89 each. My complaints - the produce section. The produce there is iffy. If you are buying it to use *today* it is ok, but don't expect it to keep. Also, I'm VERY leery of the frozen food and the cold section. I can't say for sure how they were handled before they reached the store - so I'm not risking it. My main complaint though is the music. Always always always LOUD "southern gospel". Kind of makes my ears bleed after a while. Keep in mind, they are closed on Sunday. They will take check & debit/credit - but not coupons. Large selection of wide ranging products! Some great prices on majority of items. Must check 'buy by' dates as some are very outdated. Good selection of fresh vegetables too, although they are a bit overpriced. Great prices on case lots of fish fillets etc. Personnel were very friendly. I went on the 20th of the month midweek & found it was not overcrowded. Plenty of free parking. Recommend going here IF you have plenty of time to read dates etc. Very good prices compared to regular grocery stores. read more

Bargains is a great store for saving you tons of money on your grocery bill. I visit every two weeks and get a cart load. You do have to watch dates, I've had many expired products that have ruined. Also, if you buy fresh meat here, eat it that day! It will turn brown in a day or two. The reason I didn't give the store a higher review is mostly due to the cashiers. I have two autistic son and every time without fail whoever I get for a cashier is usually very rude and nosy about my kids. Commenting how "they wouldn't put up with that" if my son acts out a little. So now I usually have my sons sit in the car with daddy while I shop. So to save yourself some humiliation and anger, I wouldn't recommend bringing in a handicapped child such as autism, asbergers, Tourette's, ADHD, etc because you will get your feelings hurt by an ignorant clerk. read more

well it's been a while since we shopped here. they cleaned up their appearance. sad to say we will never go back. when we got home, and started putting groceries away. cockroaches came out of two of the bags. since then we have seen 3 more in the house. beware if you go here. we never will again read more

I have never been treated so rudely. I was having a conversation with my mom over an article I had read reviewing how to tell if honey is pure. The article stated that only way to know for sure is to stick your finger in the honey and if it absorbs into your skin its pure. I went on my way shopping. All of a sudden this stocker comes up to me telling me that I can not go around sticking my finger in product and EVEN after I told her several times I did not do anything and my mom telling her as well she continued to argue. My question is how in a store full of customers and stockers how would one do something like that to start with. The manager was snippy towards me as well as she approached me after I requested to speak to her saying "yes" however did apologize for this and assured me it would not happen again. The only sincere apology I felt I got was from the cashier and the girl bagging. For a place that pipes Christian music most do not act Christian. I say buyer beware of having your conversations ease dropped on and incorrectly done so as well read more
