Hokusai, Olympia, Harlot's Progress
Tiffany V.

Drinks are all impressively well balanced and unique, great music and vibes! Would be happy to bring friends here, both locals and those visiting NYC, would make a great girl's night or date night spot as well. We ordered Hokusai, Olympia, and Harlot's Progress --- and would be happy to try more! Harlot's Progress is probably one of the most unique drinks we tried here, leaving a subtle end note of smokiness that is almost reminiscent of southern BBQ! We came on a Saturday night around 6pm as a party of 3 and was seated immediately at the bar. Loved the bar area decor as well.

Decent Drinks, Cramped Space My husband wanted to try a new bar, and I was craving snacks, so we decided to check out this spot after he saw it recommended somewhere. Food: 3/5 I always like to order food at a bar, so I got claws and oysters to start. They were okay but were quite pricy (bill in pics). I was hoping for meatier oysters like Blue Points, but they only had smaller, high-salinity varieties. The drinks were good, but I was expecting a better balance between food and drinks. Experience: 3/5 The space was extremely tight, and I had to sit almost on top of my husband just to fit. Our drinks barely fit on the table, especially once the food arrived. The couch seating didn't feel sanitary for eating, and the place was so loud that we had to shout to hear each other. Overall, I wouldn't come back--better bars with more space exist, and the prices were high for what we got. I'd prefer a bar with actual seating and a better food-to-drink experience.

Super cute bar! We enjoyed all of our drinks. I love refreshing cocktails and there were plenty of those options.

Perfect vibe for a date night with delicious drinks! We loved sitting at the bar on a nice Saturday and each drink was unique.

We came here for drinks before dinner down the block and were pleasantly surprised that they had a happy hour until 7pm! I don't think I saw it anywhere on their website. The happy hour offers 3 dollars off their specialty cocktails and a dollar oyster. There wasn't really a speakeasy vibe but it was a nice dimly lit bar with spacious bar seating and nice service. I really liked the Dirty Old Man. The oysters were meh. I wouldn't order again. I would come again for drinks during happy hour since I'm in the neighborhood.

Walked in at around 8 PM on a Friday and got seats in the backyard. My boyfriend and I ordered the Dirty old man and the Splendor and misery cocktails. They forgot our order so it took a while, but the drinks were tasty and the backyard has a great vibe.

Great neighborhood bar with top notch mixed cocktails, excellent staff, and a really cool secluded feel. There is plenty of seating inside and outside... and they are actually working on opening additional seating soon. Went with my friends and we really enjoyed ourselves. The owner Jeremy is very charismatic and a pleasure to talk to.

Always enjoy the vibes at this hidden gem. We liked our cocktails but didn't LOVE. Service was fast and attentive.

The Little Death and Harlot's Progress.

Such a cute and hidden bar in Brooklyn that's perfect for a date night. Upon entering, you walk through a narrow and dark bar leading to the back. There's a room with a bed (wink wink) before being welcomed to the back outdoor patio area. It's filled with greenery and string lights for an aesthetic and romantic vibe. The QR code takes you to the IG story for the menu. Most of the drinks are $15 for a sophisticated cocktail. I chose the Harlot's Progress, which was strong yet light at the same time. He had The Little Death, which was named precisely for how strong and intense this drink was. Such a cute date spot --definitely would come back!

After seeing a reel of this place on Instagram my friend and I were super curious about this brother themed bar, and decided to stop by this place since we were in the area. Luckily without reservations we were able to get seated right away around 8:30 pm on a Friday night. They have a cool speakeasy vibe indoors and a French patio vibe on the outside. Really interesting decor and drinks. I had the frozen frose cocktail called U UP? and my friend had the Fallen Angel. Both drinks were great but it was such a humid night that we decided to leave after one drink. Overall, service and good and its a super chill spot. I would definitely come back here to try some of their other drinks on a less humid night!

I've made it a point to visit every vinyl listening bar that I learn of in town, after enjoying the shared experience of someone curating a select vinyl list in intimate spaces in Tokyo. Few have been able to replicate the experience, but Honeycomb Hi Fi Lounge comes close. That the space is narrow with just a few seats along the bar and a few tables mimics the Japanese experience best, where you can almost have it so the whole room is having one conversation together. The music is the focus. The cocktail menu is rather simple, and my Stormbringer drink, with dark rum and ginger beer was not anything to write home about, but $15 is pretty low for cocktails these days so I'll take it. If they introduced new cocktails to the menu with more interesting ingredients I'd be more inclined to return, but the vibes overall are pretty good and the staff really nice.

When the bar had multiple empty tables?) to asking us multiple times how many drinks we planned to order, then getting clearly frustrated when we sipped on our $25 cocktails slower than he would prefer. To top it all off, he spotted a deck of cards in my open purse and came over to tell us that "this isn't a board game cafe, you need to leave if you want to do that" Very strange attitude for the location and vibes of the neighborhood, save your money and go down 5th a bit further to find cocktail bars that actually want patrons!

We went on a Friday night with a party of 3 and did a walk in. That was a risky move and to our luck, the hostess was so sweet and squeezed us in as the last party of the night! This is a must visit when in downtown Brooklyn. We couldn't try the food since the kitchen closed and we were the last to enter but we were able to try 3 drinks and I recommend them all! 1. Donkey Conga ($22) Bourbon and aged cachaça centrifuged with Banana. Followed by Cynar & sweet vermouth. 2. Manta Ray ($22) Coconut cocktail of apricot, ginger, and mint. London dry gin & Haitian Rhum. 3. Star cycle ($18) Shakened milk washed gin, Jasmine, and grapefruit

We had three and left suitably sloshed for the night with no aftereffects. We didn't have too many bites but the food was very good for a bar. It's this almost speak easy vibe behind big dark doors, you enter into a quaint space with small cocktail tables for seating and bar room. The cocktails were simply outrageous. Crafted to perfection with potion bottles used as finishers (yes potion bottles for their perfect witch craft making bartenders!) I think I enjoyed the bartenders work ethics as a concept the most. Sure the place was hitting the nail on the head for any speak easy, specialty cocktail seeking person's dream. But the fact that the bartenders were straight ripping through putting out eclectic drinks, with a smile on their face that was genuine was most impressive. I want to go back not just because I'm in the area. I'll go out of my way for this one. Nice job Sweet Polly!
