I was able to get an appointment the same day with Samantha! The salon is super cute and cozy! I told Samantha that I was not able to wax because I was using Retin-A, so she cleaned up my brows by tweezing and trimming. They are perfect! I am very happy with them. I love this place but the prices just keep going up... To get your brows done it used to be $13, then $15, and now it's $17 and I have a feeling it will continue to go up. Normally, an eyebrow wax is around $12 at other places. Excellent service and everyone here is great at what they do, however, spending $40 plus with tax per month to maintain my eyebrows for a service that takes less than 15 minutes is simply not worth it anymore. For those who can spend that money, definitely go here. However, I will be searching for a new place that is more affordable. read more

I have been using Bare Necessity for brow and other waxing services for several years without complaint. However, recently the service has severely deteriorated. I have had multiple appointments cancelled or changed last minute. Today was the final straw. After having a brow wax and tint cancelled last week, I rescheduled for today and when I arrived the receptionist "notified" me who my appointment was with. I indicated I was aware as I had booked following cancellation last week. She continued telling me this never happens and the individual was ill. I informed her this was actually the third cancellation for this particular person in two months. After watching several people come and go, I was informed my person was running late with another client (10 minutes now). I stated I was beginning to feel frustrated and done with the attempts. The receptionist then proceeded to continue to berate me telling me other days were available, I could reschedule with Breanna blah blah blah. I chose to leave at this point before saying something inappropriate. Now a few hours later, I felt compelled to share my experience and disappointment. Not only have I have multiple cancellations, instead of offering some compensation or even apology, I was berated and made to feel unwelcome. Very sad change in service! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I am sooo glad I found Amy. She is absolutely the best. I have been getting waxed for as long as I can remember and no one has been able to do it as great as her. She is very thorough, uber clean, and sweet. She never double dips. Her space is very cute too. I dont know how she manages to make waxing less painful, but she does it. I have had a lot of bad waxing experiences in Arizona, since I moved from California. I have been burned and put in so much pain. Amy has saved me from being scarred (literally). Everyone I refer to her ends up loving her and taking up her appointment times. She really is that good. Now I am starting to regret posting this because she may end up too busy for me. From first driving up I could tell this was going to be my new go to location, although at first it can be difficult to find if you aren't familiar with the area. Before going to Bare Necessity Spa I had only had one waxing experience which was so painful I ended up canceling some of the areas I had signed up for. The areas that were waxed had so much hair left over that I had to shave the next day. After searching through Yelp I came across Amy and figured I would try her place out after reading positive reviews. I'm so glad I did! Even though waxing will never be comfortable, it was not painful here. She uses both soft and hard wax, depending on the area and even went over with tweezers if there is anything left. I was a little terrified to get a bikini wax, but it wasn't painful and for what I wanted done I was able to leave my underwear on which made me comfortable. I definitely will be back! read more

This was my first time getting my eyebrows waxed and tinted. I was thinking about getting them threaded but I'm so glad I didn't. First off, the staff here is amazing, very friendly. I am very particular about my eyebrows, they probably are the most important thing to me on my face so trusting someone else's hands with them was a big step for me. I had been growing my brows out for a few weeks but had to get them done because I had a wedding that weekend and was in the bridal party and there was no way I would have ratchet, bushy eyebrows during pictures. Although I grew them out, I had one area that was being stubborn about growing back, I was scared they weren't going to come out even. Thankfully, I was wrong. Aubrey was extremely personable and took her time with my brows. She evened them out, shaped them, and the spot that didn't grow back isn't noticeable at all! I am Asian so I have very light eyebrows and the tint made them look so much darker and thicker. Aubrey took her time to make sure I was happy with the darkness of my brows. I don't feel the need to draw on my eyebrows as much as I used to, they look a lot more natural and I am a lot more confident with my new brows! Right after my appointment, I realized this was the place to be and already scheduled my next appointment. I referred my sister-in-law who had been getting her brows waxed somewhere else for years, she noticed my eyebrows looked really good and decided to take a chance before her wedding. Honestly if Karley didn't work here I wouldn't drive all the way to BFE just to get a Brazilian. BUT Karley is amazing and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable which is why I switched spas to see her. Highly recommended. I can also say the quality of the products seems good. If it was just the Karley Spa I would give 5 stars but it's not. I don't care for the customer service of the front desk staff & that's why they get the VERY generous 3 Stars I have afforded them. From not properly communicating that the special was either or on the facial/wax discount, not both (I see the flyer has since been updated, but I should have been charged for what was originally advertised), to completely not putting me on the schedule the next time I attempted to come in for a facial, causing me to have to book somewhere else last minute, the front desk has continued to disappoint. They are also not at all accommodating for last minute schedule changes & do not honor the discount you get for booking in advance, if you have to reschedule. For a customer that you have screwed over in the past, yet has continued to give their business, you think you would want to make their experience as pleasant as possible. And they probably already know this all to be true, because this is the ONLY beauty service provider I go to that doesn't request we leave reviews or ask for feedback. read more
