Look no further if you're searching for a place that does microblading. Elsa is incredibly sweet and SO welcoming; it's great for people who's never done microblading before. She has a wonderful bedside manner and is super patient when it came to our questions and concerns. I brought my mom to Bare Beauty and Elsa took her time explaining the whole concept of the service and the process to her in Chinese and repeating everything in English for my convenience. She's quick to respond on WeChat if you have it, and we were lucky enough to schedule a last minute slot the day before. The whole scheduling process was seamless. We got there for a 1pm consultation (30 min), she applied numbing cream on the brows (20-30 min) and then the microblading process took a little over 1 hr. Elsa also provided aftercare instructions and a little packet of aftercare ointment. COVID precautions - it's practically pristine at her workshop!! the bathroom is so clean and there are 2 other sinks outside the bathroom for you to wash your hands. There's also a water cooler if you get thirsty. Pricing - set price is at $680 and although I found cheaper places in the city ranging from $500-600, there's few important factors to consider. 1) you need to consider the skillset of the specialist. Elsa's portfolio is massive and I loved her style, so that was a huge factor for me, 2) the first touch up is included within the first three months, 3) convenient location for those in Queens. You can park at Skyview (3 hrs for $3!). We're super satisfied with the whole experience and I'm excited to recommend her to my friends (and their mothers!!). I am so glad that I found Elsa!!! She did my eyebrows so nicely, and exactly how I wanted it. I had my eyebrows done by a different eyebrow tech 5 years ago and although she did a good job, I overgrown the shape and was nervous in getting it done again. But then I found Elsa, did my research (pretty much just looked at her instagram photos lol) and I instantly knew she is the one. She is very accommodating and she listened to everything I requested for. I DM'd her on Instagram and I received a response almost immediately! When you enter her workshop, you will be asked to wash your hands and she will spray the bottom of your shoes as part of her COVID-19 precaution. The room is clean, welcoming and all the tools used were new and sealed. The procedure took about 2 hours as expected -- including the assessment and procedure. During the process, she made sure that I was ok and that I was not feeling any pain. I love the shape that she did for me -- something that I was very particular with. When you go back for your touch up, you will have a choice if you want your brows to be darker -- which I asked for because I had natural dark hair. Elsa is a brows magician, if you'll believe it. I know I wholeheartedly do. Prior to going to Elsa, I went to somebody else [who I will not name] who is deemed as prestigious in the microblading world. I went with high expectations given her reputation, paid a pretty penny, but was met with disappointment. The person never discussed anything other than brow shape with me. For the next ~2 years, I was left with lop-sided, reddish-orange tinted brows [because supposedly, that's more natural. Insert eyeroll, please], an on/off allergic reaction on this random part of my brow, and mental trauma of doing microblading again. But giiiirl, I knew it had to be done again. So I rolled up my sleeves and did my research on yelp and instagram for a few months, and stumbled upon Elsa @ Bare Beauty. I stalked her social media for a good while, before gathering my courage to message her for pricing and an appointment. Traveling to her was worth everything because she instantly makes you feel welcomed. Elsa is SUPER personable. During my first visit, I was instructed to remove my eyebrows [the one I drew on, of course], and she was appalled with the color, and even more appalled after she found out who did it. She then walked me through what she felt was best for me in this situation, the shape that she felt would match me most, and then proceeded to draw it out for me with eyeliner, measuring with a ruler to ensure that the brows are even. I agreed with her shape immediately. Then she recommends the color that she feels would work best for me, especially given that I already had the red/orange tint. Ugh. We decided on an 80/20 for a more natural look. As previous yelpers have mentioned, she is also super generous with her numbing cream. I didn't feel a single thing throughout the process because she would continuously reapply more throughout the course of treatment. Yes, I am going to compare her with my previous person again because during my touch up session with she-who-must-not-be-named, there was a time where the numbing cream wore off and I felt every stroke! It was terrible. Not this time. Anyway, so she's doing her thang, we chat like old friends, and then 1~1.5 hours later, I leave the studio with the fleekiest of brows. I was then told that there is a inclusive 3 month touch-up, and that I could schedule it closer to the 3 month mark, so that it would benefit me more. Cue the comparing again, because with she-who-must-not-be-named, I felt like I had to hunt her down for the touch-up. No return texts, emails or anything. And it was within a 1 month period. I damn near lost my inclusive touch up, because I couldn't reach her! But you know what Elsa did? She messaged me about 1~1.5 month after my initial treatment to remind me to make that appointment. She also sent me a reminder message the week of my appointment. Take that for A+ customer service. During the first week, aka the scabbing process, I was super nervous [traumatized] and Elsa was quick to respond when I sought her advice. The touch-up was as much of a breeze as with the first session. She decided that a darker color would work for me, so she changed it to 90/10, and again, she worked her magic. I left with even fleekier eyebrows than the first time. I will def come back to Elsa when my brows fade. One year update! It has been one year since I've had my eyebrows tattooed with Elsa and I must say that much of the outer parts of my brows have faded. This actually happened 4 months after the touch up. I don't blame this on the tattoo or the artist! Please see below if you have a similar issue! The tattoo was lovely, but if anyone who uses AHAs or any type of acid peels, or Retin A - you MUST apply around your eyebrows and not even close to them because this will cause the tattoo to fade faster. The tattoo is semi permanent and only on the upper layers of your skin, so peels and acid would cause the tattoo to fade quite quickly. I also developed a dry patch and some loss of my natural brows for the first 6 months which took months to heal. If this happens to anyone, use vitamin E oil or Argan oil. Elsa offers a one time touch up within one year for 260$! I would definitely take up this offer - unfortunately I missed my deadline! :( read more

10 stars!!! Lol I've been following Elsa's Instagram for a few months before I finally decided to get my eyebrows done with her. And I'm glad I did! She was super friendly since the very beginning and accommodating when it came to appointments. The entire process took about 2 hours and she made conversation the entire time. Elsa is super duper sweet and very relatable! Not gonna lie, when I first saw my brows, I was in shock! Lol. I had very short brows to begin with and we decided on something longer with a more prominent arch. It definitely took some time to get use to. I wanted to texted her throughout the scabbing process because it looked uneven and all sorts of weird, but I waited it out and it came out beautiful. I came back for my touch-up about 2.5 months after and we decided to make it a little thicker and make the arch higher. And as always, she is such a sweet person and made you feel very comfortable the entire time. Once again, I was a little startled when I saw the mirror lol but when I got home, I immediately started falling in love with them. I highly recommend her to everyone! This was a 2 hrs procedure so show up early! Place is clean and Elsa was very friendly and professional. She uses disposable blades so it's very sanitary. Ink that is used are placed in small container for one time use. She'll go over the best color to match your skin tone and best shape for your face. Elsa took time to explain the procedure and what I can expect. I am very pleased with the end result. It has saved me loads of time getting ready to go out. I also took advantage of the free touch up when I wanted to go darker. The free touch up is for a limited time after the initial treatment so make sure you note it on your calendar. I have included pictures of the step by step procedure done to me. Aftercare was explained thoroughly and a treatment packet was included. This is like any tattoo you get, stay away from the sun or else it will fade faster. I scheduled this around my one week vacation. There will be scabbing which will come off within a week or more. Go cheap and look like you came out of a Tim Burton movie or pay extra and look like you live in Beverly Hills. I was nervous getting my eyebrows and eyeliner done for the first time. I spoke or attempted to speak to different people who provided the service but many couldn't speak Fluent English or just felt shady. I came through Elsa at yelp and checked out her Instagram and Facebook page. Her information, before and after picture/ videos, and positive feedback was what drawed me into her. The fact that she takes the time to do video and pictures just means how much she cares for what she does and the progress. I messaged her through yelp and within 30mins I got a friendly reply with detailed information for what I asked for. And the best part is you're speaking directly to the person who will be doing your eyebrows not a manager speaking on behalf of a employee. I made the appointment and secured it with a deposit. My appointment was at 3pm and I arrived 20mins early. ALWAYS arrive early when it comes to appointments like this and if you're going to be late, be considerate and call ahead of the appointment time. The place is in Flushing, a very high populated are and parking is NOT EASY so give yourself extra time to look for parking. You are receiving a one on one consultation just you and Elsa which I loved. And being early gave me more time to prepare myself for microblading. This was my first time getting semi-permanent makeup done, so I was a bit precarious about where to go. I wanted somewhere legit but within my price range, and after browsing through Yelp, I found Bare Beauty and decided to give it a try. CONSULTSTION: So before the actual procedure, you go in for a consultation where Elsa explains everything. I remember mine very well because I had originally planned to get both the eyebrow and eyeliner procedures, but during the consultation, Elsa told me the eyeliner wouldn't be noticeable on my eyes so I shouldn't waste the money. This reassured me that I had made the right choice, she actually cares more about the customer satisfaction than making more money, which is EXTREMELY RARE in Flushing alone. EYEBROW: so my eyebrow situation was kinda a mess, I had eyebrows, just not full ones and the hairs just vanished towards the tail :( AND we all know eyebrows frame the face but it's so hard and time consuming to draw in and fill in your brows every day so if you're like me, consider getting a semi-permanent solution. PROS: Elsa is great! She keeps a friendly conversation going, she makes sure your comfortable and reapplies the numbing cream when needed. The process itself is quite painless, just a bit scratchy feeling. You get a free touchup which is very important imo because the first time is really to test how your skin holds ink, and then the second time is to adjust the ink color and intensity. She's also very on point with appointment reminders via text and very accommodating when it comes to rescheduling as long as you let her know a few days beforehand that you need to reschedule. CONS: NONE ABOUT THE SERVICE! Reason I took off a star...which I kind of feel bad about, is that my eyebrows aren't as intense as I want them to be, but it's my fault because I have oily skin and hence I don't absorb the ink very well and it tends to fade faster. The first session I got the medium color and after about a month and a half the color was very light and the tail of my brow was almost entirely gone, sooo if you have oily skin, try the darker color. BUT even when your eyebrows fade, the shape is still there, so filling your brows is a lot faster and involves a lot less guess work. I have been searching for a reputable place to have my brows and eyeliner done, but was afraid of the results. I didn't want it to turn out looking very dated and faded to a bluish tint like I've seen on other people that had the procedure done. It took me about a year to finally narrow it down to this place. It was mainly because of all the rave reviews seen here on yelp and Elsa's prompt response to questions. I have to start off by saying her place is very clean and cozy. She makes you feel very comfortable. She is very professional, patient and tentative. She talks you through every step and tells you what she is doing before and as she is doing it to keep you informed. I was so nervous because I am such a wimp to pain, especially for the eyeliner. Just the thought of needles that close to my eyes made me extremely nervous, but she ensured me that I would feel very little to No pain at all. Which I was very shocked about. I only felt the slightest bit of discomfort and it was very bearable. I am so glad I made the decision and went to Elsa. She was chatting with me the entire time, which really helped to distract me and make the entire process very pleasant. I am in love with the results. It's only been about a month since I've had the procedures done and so far I am very satisfied with the outcome. I would still need a touch up in about another month or so and I am looking forward to it. I do have a slight patch that scabbed and fell off which is slightly uneven, but I'm sure that will be fixed during my touch up session. This place is the BEST! Not only is Elsa precise in her work, she is SO nice and friendly! When I first started looking for a place to do lashliner semi-permanent makeup, it wasn't that popular yet. I didn't want to go somewhere that didn't have a lot of actual clients/experience/photos to prove it! So I waited a year, continuing to search online throughout. This is my first time doing the semi permanent make up and I am so glad I found this place. Elsa is very professional: she took the time to make sure we are on the same page about the style I'm looking for; it's actually way less painful than I expected. I didn't even feel a thing when she was working on my eyebrows. Elsa is an artist: the eyebrows and eyeliners are customized to my facial structure instead of "mass production" type of eyebrows. Elsa is such a great person to know. She gave me so many recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the flushing area. I really enjoy chatting with you. The first thing I noticed when I walked in Bare Beauty Shop is how clean the place is, which is very important to me. Elsa explained to me the tools she use is all sterile. I am so glad that I don't have to worry about getting infection. I was very hesitant to have semi-permanent makeup done on the face. But she said let's try to see what fits your face and what you want your eyebrows to look like with eyebrow pencil. If you do like it then we can proceed with the tattoo. That sounded great! Since I wasn't sure about semipermanent makeup. She was able to make my eyebrow look fuller and extend the length of my eyebrow where there was no hair growing. She had great suggestions while knowing what I wanted. She really took her time with me; not only to design/shape-up my eyebrow but applying the semipermanent tattoo. The whole process took longer than I expected 2-3hours but she was so patience and didn't rush "to get the job done". She was not pushy and didn't pressured me. Which made me so comfortable and I decided to get my eyeliner done. Yay!! I am so happy with the results it looks so natural. I would recommend it to people with the same issue of wanting fuller eyebrow and fixing "bald spots" on your eyebrow. read more

I really loved my new look! I went on late Jan for semi-permanent eyeliner. Elsa was nice and patient, make you feel at ease to get rid of the "mini-surgery" feeling. The process lasted about 1 and half hour, and it doesn't feel that long at all. It was absolutely painless. I have my semi-permanent eyebrows done in China town, with the almost same amount of money. Boy was it painful. I have to consistently grab the chair handle just to distract myself from the pain. It was like scratching your forehead with a sharp knife, at the same spot,again and again. I was surprised that eyeliner in Bare Beauty does not feel any pain at all. It does feel itchy at times during the process, however it was bearable, and Elsa was good at letting you take rest in between and re-apply the anesthesia cream which blocks the pain. I went to get my free touch-up today. Again it felt short and easy. I highly recommend this place. I think the cost worth the the time it saves you every morning! read more

I was referred by a fiend to this place. I felt so relaxed and comfortable when I stepped in the store. Elsa walked through the whole magical eyeliner make over with me patiently. I have very sensitive skin, she took care of my problem very carefully. She put extra pain relief gel and was very gentle when doing my eyeliner. She also chatted with me during the operation and tried to calm me whenever I'm nervous. She followed up with my touch up appointment in about a month. It was so touching that she remembers every patient's details and follow up with them individually. The result? Absolutely GREAT!
