A woman at the door said "yes, come on" and walked me to the back implying that it was her. I informed her that I want a silk wrap and highlights. She informed me that she would have to blow my hair out because it's curly (first time this has happened, but I'm not a stylist so I agreed). She then proceeded to do my highlights by parting at the line where my old highlights were, not at the scalp. This resulted in uneven, choppy and messy highlights. When it came to my trim, she left dead ends and it's uneven as well. I am currently going back to get it fixed. Will update with any new information. Update: I went back to the salon and the owner fixed my color as much as she could. I didn't get charged an additional fee. My second experience I would rate a 4.

I did a lot of research prior to making my decision to have permanent makeup. I looked at each artists' portfolio (IG) & while they all did stunning work, Hannah was my girl! We chatted on IG for a while and she was so helpful & patient with me as I asked questions & shared concerns. After we spoke I booked my appointment for my consultation. The next few days I kept seeing her brilliant work & knew that she was the perfect person, so I asked her if we could do my consultation & appointment the same day! She made it work no problem! On the day of my appointment I arrived 15 mins early & we got started with paperwork. Once that was done we discussed my vision of how I wanted my brows (color, size, type of style I wanted). Hannah was kind enough to mock up two different styles so I could pick after seeing it & it made a world of difference. My biggest stress was choosing if I wanted more hairlike brows or more shaded in type with visible hair strokes. Hannah mapped out my brows based off measurements and bone structure (which I love) using a temporary pencil - & once I selected which one I liked we got to work on numbing. The rest was history! I have two pieces done over several sessions with Adam, and one by their newest team member, Jason Brown, and I am extremely happy with them. The line work is crisp and precise, the shading is smooth, and the composition fits my body. I trust them to take my basic idea and run with it in the way they think will give me the best result. Everyone is extremely professional, friendly, and down to earth, but most importantly they are passionate about and skilled at their craft. The artists specialize in traditional style tattoos, but they welcome collaboration on any of your ideas. The shop itself is very clean, well run, and has a fascinating array of artwork that is a welcome distraction during sessions. The pricing is very fair for such high quality work. They take both cash and credit cards, although the POS system has a 3% fee on cards. Don't forget to tip. The shop is in historic Jackson Ward, in between Saison Market and the Maggie Walker Memorial Plaza. There is very limited parking on N Adams Street, but it's easy to find a free spot in the surrounding area.
