In one of the episodes in The Simpsons, Edna Krabappel, said this line, "Usually, it's soup for one, salad for one and wine for three." While I don't have a drinking problem (not at this point and certainly hope I don't end in that state), I do enjoy drinking wine or what have you.
Barcino at City Golf is the right kind of place if you want to slow down and chill on a Friday night. Most places on a Friday night are crowded. However, there's something about the laid-back Spanish interiors that won't make you feel like you're packed with 30 other people.
As for playing favourites, I certainly enjoyed my Tinto de Verano (P175). I've never tried it but the second time I came back, I knew I had to have my glass (or glasses, yes, you got me there) for the night. Tinto de Verano means, in my limited knowledge of Spanish, Red Wine of Summer. It's a fruity wine with hints of strawberry to its flavour and topped with a slice of orange. It's a very tamed sangria. And I'm pretty sure if I drank this midday, I would enjoy it more.
We also tried out their cider and beers. Pretty strong but it doesn't have the after taste that some of the beers we're used to drinking. Maybe these drinks you should try in moderation if you're just going for a very low-key evening.
Also shout out to Thalia who has always been a good host to us. We may be a little too eccentric and loud at times (because you know, alcohol) whenever we're there but she has always been so accommodating. read more
