The times I've visited The Brewery is between 6-9 p.m. before hitting up Valkyrie or Pool Club so I…read morekill time with friends pregaming with beer and/or enjoying some appetizers. Having tried their classic flight of beers, I can honestly say The Brewery has a solid selection, specifically their IPA, which I really enjoy. I'm not a beer expert but I am from San Diego, which is a major beer city in the States so my standards are a bit high. Their appetizers and desserts aren't too shabby as well. I can see why Yelpers have rated this place high. HOWEVER. Why the two stars? Because of their abysmal customer service, ESPECIALLY by a woman I am presuming is the manager. Her demeanor and her all black conservative outfit just screamed "HBIC" or "Head Bitch In Charge." Her name tag read "Mae." Her RBF ("Resting bitch face") is something serious and I am NOT exaggerating. It's even more serious when you have to interact with her. Mae, regardless of if you are or are not the manager, you should learn the value of customer service. Why would I want to go back to an establishment run by or that employs an ice queen as a host? Do what every grown adult does at a job and fake it. It won't kill you to smile and radiate a bit of warmth to patrons. This might sound crazy but it might even influence customers to come back or even better, positive word of mouth. The rest of the servers are... well. One waiter/bartender took my order, served my friend's cocktail and completely forgot about mine. I didn't see him again after so I had to call a waiter to follow up on my drink, after like 20 minutes of waiting. Two stars for the ambiance and solid brews and food. I was about to give it an extra star for the nice 20% on classic beers after 7 p.m. for Visa card holders but Mae and that waiter's idea of customer service didn't warrant the extra star. I might come back but why would I when "Yes Please" is right next door. Yes, it may be a bit pricier, food and drinks are concerned, but I'd gladly pay a little more than to be given a cold shoulder.

I'm not Kapampangan, but if you don't know what sisig is, it's a Kapampangan snack type of meat marinated in lemon juice or vinegar. It's usually eaten by itself, but to try it on top of pizza was a plus. Medium size that was a good snack for 4 people. With a couple snacks & 4 beers, bill was less than 1,000 PHP, not bad! Ambience: The Brewery is connected to The Pool club. When we walked over to the restrooms, you can easily walk out to the pool; however, both have different DJ's. BUT! I loved both DJ's. Now this is where I really enjoyed my night. The DJ at the Brewery was hands down playing all the hip hop & R&B music. My cousins knew what kind of music I listen to & they knew to stay on this side of the club longer. Enjoyed the music & food. Service was an average. How about things you do not see on a normal restaurant/club vibe basis? One of the workers was sweeping with the walis (broom) next to us doing their job by keeping the restaurant clean. I was amused for a sec & that wasn't the alcohol laughing. Walk out the side & dance the night away at the Pool club. They have couches to lounge on with bottle service, but a full dance floor by the DJ up front. Be amazed with their all around sound system. I recommend the Pool & the Brewery at the Palace!

We ordered a few cocktails, truffle fries, and bacon chicharon. I had the watermelon jungle juice and some of the fries and chicharon. All were delicious! Salty + sweet is always a great combination. The first time I tried Moonshine was back in their Makati branch. Back then, the place was cramped and the bar was really just for drinks. This new Moonshine is a definite upgrade with its cool interiors, a spacious second floor and delicious food! If you're hungry, they have a pork-filled menu to satisfy any meet craving! I mean, how can you say no to dishes like the Bacon Stack with Spicy Baconnaise, Tokwa't Bagnet Belly, JFC (just Fried Chicken), and Angus Beef Sisig! I recommend you try the Fatty Fries. It's a heart stopper! Hahaha! If you're thirsty, they have Cocktails, Bottle Service and, of course, Beer! My friends and I go for the carafe serving of the Mango Mojito. But, when I'm alone, I go for their 1 liter beer called the Bootleg Mug. Oh! If you want to go old school, remember the days when shooters were a big thing in bars? Well, you have to try their Hand Grenade! I wasn't able to take a photo of it but it's a shot of Tequila and a shot of Jager balanced over a glass with a shot of Red bull. I'll leave you to do the math on how to drink that. :P It's hard to find a bar that has good booze and awesome food. That's why I feel very lucky that Moonshine is now here in Ortigas! If you plan to go here on a Friday or Saturday night, make sure to have a friend reserve a table (meaning sit at the table). The place seriously gets packed during the weekends!

But the hardest decision is normally "Where are we going?" My friends and I have been more inclined lately to go to sit down places. Bars or restaurants where we can actually get a table and get comfortable. Draft is one of my favorite chill spots because one, they have my favorite beer on tap (Hoegaarden) and two, the food is damn good! Draft used to be the place we went to when it was time to wind down the evening. A beer or two to cap of the night. When we discovered that food was hella good here too it now has become the main event! The croquettes are my favorite thing in the world! Ham, chicken, and cheese all wrapped in delicious crunchy coating that I has burned my tongue on many occasions because I couldn't wait to have them. Their truffled mushroom risotto was sooooo good and creamy! Perfect dish to pair with anything else on the menu! Paired of course with an ice cold beer! Without a doubt a great experience with every visit.

It looks very small from the entrance but it actually stretches all the way inside with tall chairs and round tables. Only, it sits up to 4 people from my observation. However, you can put them together for bigger groups. Anyway, they serve apps as well as Sisig pizza. You may look it up if you are not familiar. Sisig is a.k.a as "pulutan"--something you pair with beer or "or anything heavier, or even with just plain coke if you like that. I asked the bar waitress what time is the closing time and she replied, "we stay open as long as people keep coming in" but I think even later than 2am. This place is intimate and have seats outside where I chose to sit because it is hot in Manila. I recommend this place if you are in the area. They have lots of options from beer and hard liquor, to cocktails and food. It's well-kept and staff is very attentive. It won't disappoint.

Me and my friends choose Swig as as our go to place to chill, eat, sip on a beer or two. They always have promo such as buy one get ones tequila Thursdays, buy 5 beers get 1 free, unli wine Wednesdays, and our favorite - 99php shots of either Black Label, Jack, or Jose Cuervo on Fridays! They have a new line of cocktails that can be served in carafes or individually so it's always fun to come with a group who matches your alcohol intake, cause it's a guarantee that you all will leave happy! Hahaha! They not only for local beers, but imported beers as well! The options are almost endless. Prices are good on all items on the menu (food & alcohol) I seriously always have a hard time picking what I want to eat - ONLY BECAUSE EVERYTHING ON THEIR MENU IS SO GOOD!! They got truffle fries, wings, freshly made pizza, waygu beef cubes, krispy kare kare, pasta with homemade marinara sauce, whatever you feel your drunk-self desires. They have the ultimate "drunkchies" menu! Their waiters are very attentive and nice! The owners are always there making sure to see that your experience is a good one. They take reservations also! If you are arriving with a big party and need a table reserved, they are more than happy to have one waiting for you when you get there. Did I mention that the music is always good and the AC inside is always on blast, so you don't got to worry about the heat melting your makeup off. You'll just let the alcohol do that for you. ;) there's also additional seating outside in the balcony for those who want to smoke and have the cool breeze. Lots of parking in the back & on the street with a guard and bouncers - so the place is definitely safe! They even have acoustic nights where anyone is welcome to join to sing. All in all, I give this place 5 stars! I'd give it 15 if I could because one of the owners (Mhayzel) is definitely a 10! ;) I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to come out and chill at Swig! Good food, good company, and good vibes at Swig!
