This quaint laid-back shop makes wine selection easy for those short on time, knowledge, or both. The selections are fun and well-priced, and are backed by a helpful staff. The store is manned by its owner, who was fairly approachable and enthusiastic about his beer, wines and spirits. Once you've perused the selection at every pricepoint, it's hard to imagine not becoming a regular. Sure there are lots of carton boxes here that save them money for decor, but the wines aren't that cheap. They make it seem like it though, by having signs with promotions on it. For a good bottle you do have to spend 500-600 php, where in rustans you can buy a good merlot for 400 php. There are free tastings here and there is a loyalty program I signed up for. Totally understandable, BUT the staff should have mentioned that to me to set/manage expectations. They didn't. Bad anticipation/foresight and lack of staff training. OR, have really good operations and get all sushi orders out in good time. Lesson: if there's a big party going on when you walk in, take note of slow delivery of dine-in food if you're going to order. Or, don't order sushi at busy times. Otherwise Ralph's wine and food never disappoint.

You can drink to your fill and then pass out without having to worry about how to get home because you're already, well, home. For those nights when we would rather hole up in a friend's garage, or swimming pool, we get our liquor from the wholesale liquor stores along Buendia. This stretch of liquor stores from Taft Ave. to Leveriza has everything that you might want. Haggle and scout around for the best deals. You will also find stores that sell their liquors with fun stuff such as pitchers, free shotglasses, ice buckets or shirts. Bottles of alcohol here are much cheaper, and this is pretty much your one-stop shop for pretty much everything - from spirits to mixers ,from wines to strange brews for when you are feeling rather adventurous. They say it's all fun and games until someone loses a liver, but hey, at least here we get our libations at a fraction of their cost.

If you're not a wine connoisseur and just want to have a relaxed time over reds or whites, without having to dress up or worry about the shop closing on you, I highly recommend this place. The best thing about this branch in particular is the place and location. Ralph's has both indoor and al fresco seating, so you if you have friends who smoke, they can do that here. The al fresco tables are right in the middle of Molito's activity center so you hear the nice live performances in the background on weekends. Plus, you can order from the nearby restaurants (if these places allow it) and have it with your wine, just like the Hermano's beside it (yay, nachos!). And just in case there are lots of diners and you can't find a vacant table, you can bring out their wine glasses for a deposit you can get back upon return. They also have a number of cheese and meat selections you can enjoy with your wine, reasonably priced as compared to the cheese and charcuterie platters from Barcino or Planet Grapes. Just be careful with the chorizo--it is a bit oily and a lot, so you might want to share it with three or four others. They even have a stall at The Legazpi Sunday Market. My favourite would have to be Liberation. I first tried this out at Barley in Quezon City. Since then, I've been obsessed. Never mind paying P200 a pop as long as you get really good beer - and an IPA to boot! I do like my beer hoppy! I am really loving the craft beer revolution that's been going on for quite a time now.
