THE BARCAR BURGER
Bryan S.

We had a great Sunday brunch with cocktails at Barcar in Old Metairie. Parking was easy in the front lot, and arriving early meant we beat the crowds. The downstairs bar is nicely set up, but the upstairs area is truly the standout. The bar up there may be smaller, but the balcony-side tables offer a wonderfully relaxing view. On our visit we enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice appetizer, Shrimp Tacos and a Barcar Burger. Everything was wonderful and tasty. I highly recommend Barcar for couples seeking a relaxing Sunday Brunch.

Good vibes all around! We had a big group and sat upstairs, and it was gorgeous. I loved rooftop and the service was so great! The staff was very helpful and attentive. I ordered the burger after everyone said how good it was... and honestly I wasn't too impressed. It was slightly overcooked and lacking flavor. The menu is limited, so I do wish there were more options. I definitely want to come back, but need to try something else!

I've ordered from here a lot and usually it's great, but I decided to try the burger for the first time tonight. It was so disappointing! It was cooked medium/medium-rare when I asked for medium well and online it said it came with onions and pickles which I got neither of. It was literally just meat cheese and bun:( Very frustrating to pay for a burger at this cost and it not live up to the standard. Wasn't able to eat majority of it.

We finally made it to Barcar! So impressed! Service was exceptional. We decided to sit downstairs to avoid the sun, despite the cool vibe up. Oh! How impressed I was after acclimating and taking in the atmosphere. I never imagined this place would present this refined/casual. The chicken Caesar is chopped! So easy to eat and delicious! Highly recommend. We also tried the fettuccini pasta and truffle waffle fries....ALL Great! Again-Service was superb, and we will be back Many Times! Upstairs was enjoyed after the sun went down. Plenty of TV's for sports. We love Barcar!

Ordered fried sushi rice for app, which I enjoyed. The Caesar salad in a wrap I would def get again. Their Friday happy hour special was $5 martinis and I ordered the blackberry martini and really liked it.

This place is so cute and great for lunch! We sat on the rooftop patio which was great. They had a little bar up there and some tvs. We got the chicken Caesar wrap and the burger! Both were great!! If you love lemon, you'll love the Caesar wrap!! The burger was super juicy and cooked perfectly. The fries were also really good and well seasoned. The service was also great. The food came out super quick. We will be back!

Location- in case you don't k is there is an upstairs area with a balcony with a bar that you sit and enjoy! Food was good! We went on a Saturday evening at dusk. Place was packed. Service was slow for us, so trying not to let that impress my rating. However, I think overall it is a solid place!

I think Barcar is a cute spot! I've experienced a Friday afternoon happy hour in the downstairs dining area as well as the inside bar for some late night drinks, and both were a nice time. My happy hour server was sweet and very attentive given how busy she was. You can't beat the $5 Friday martinis, and my chicken Cesar wrap was good! (Just annoying that it's a $1.50 upcharge for the wrap as opposed to the salad, lol.) The bartender was super chill and helpful with explaining drinks. The upstairs area is large and great for hanging out on a cool day or evening, so I won't be getting much use out of that space until probably October, lol. Parking can be tricky as there's only the parking lot and spite along the railroad; you may have to circle a time or two. But, all in all, a cute Old Metairie Rd spot!

this was a horrible experience. I was really excited because I saw this restaurant on social media and I went with a friend expecting to have a great steak night. However it was anything but that we were not greeted when we walked into the rooftop bar, so we went downstairs where the table was not clean the server did not clean it until another guest sat next to us and cleaned their spot first. We ordered the second we sat down and waited one hour then after that hour, we were told they ran out of steak. However, the person next to us ordered steak but they came after us. The server did not explain to us what was happening and then we had discussed a salad because of my dietary restrictions and I was given a plate of lettuce.

I came here after a bridal shower with a large group. We were told we could just go up on the rooftop and seat ourselves. We got a nice table upstairs. Service was great, everyone was friendly! The spicy margarita was delicious. I got the Caesar wrap with fried chicken and it was so good and light. I definitely will be back!

Delicious Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap! Possibly the best in Nola! Recommended with an ice cold Pacifico

Lobster roll for sure.

Wow it's loud for no reason. Music is nice but people feel they have to scream. Bad: The tuna sticky rice is just plain bad. The ponzu doesn't soak up and the sticky rice is too much and flavorless. They need to rework that whole thing. The oysters were not what was on menu but were fantastic. Fried with ranch amongst other things. Delicious and fried perfectly. The lobster roll was one of the better ones I've had for a while but could have used some melted butter on the side.

The food menu is lacking and the service was not the best. The happy hour martinis are the highlight. Come full and come here to grab a few drink deals.

Cooter Brown's is truly an Uptown New Orleans staple…read more This classic tavern and oyster bar is one of my go-to spots when I'm looking to just chill, grab a great drink, and enjoy solid New Orleans food in a laid-back environment. Located right at St. Charles & Carrollton on the streetcar line, it's super easy to get to and always buzzing in the best way. The drink options are endless--great cocktails, frozen margaritas, beer by the glass or pitcher, and a huge variety of beers to choose from. TVs are everywhere, making it a perfect spot to catch sporting events, meet up with friends, or just hang out solo. The vibe is low-key, casual, and welcoming--no frills, just a consistently good time. I also love that they're open 11 AM to 1 AM, seven days a week, which is clutch no matter the day or occasion. And finding out they've been around since 1977 just adds to the charm and legacy. If you're looking for great happy hour options, strong cocktails, classic New Orleans eats, and an Uptown spot where you can relax and connect with friends, Cooter Brown's always delivers. Definitely one of those places that never goes out of style. A true NOLA staple.
