I had the worst haircut ever here the other day. I asked the lady for a little bit off the top and a beard shape up. Instead, she takes too much off the top and trims most of my beard off! After a good hour when the haircut should've lasted a good 15-20 minutes, she charges me $51. FIFTY ONE DOLLARS FOR A DANG HAIRCUT AND BEARD TRIM. A day later, I look at my neck and there's a bad case of razor rash so this lady must not know how to trim a beard. I don't know what the other barbers there are like, but this one needs to be told something. I wouldn't recommend going somewhere with barbers like the one I had(Or a place that charges you $51 for a typical haircut). I'm definitely not going there ever again. read more

I've only gone there once, but least to say I'll be going back once my hair grows back out. The place is delightfully small, and there was barely a wait. You have to pay in cash, which wasn't an issue since an ATM wasn't too far. Despite a few errors to my trim, I wasn't all that disappointed (coming from someone who used to cut his own hair). I went to thie barber off of previous reviews from yelp. I went at a good time and wait was maybe 10 minutes. Kimberly cut my here and did a phenomenal job. She was detailed with her work. Cut was $21 plus tip.Well worth it. I will be going back for sure. read more

My husband and I are new to Savannah and he needed a haircut. He always went to the old school barber shop back home so he decided to try the Barber Pole. We drove downtown together and while he went to get the cut, I went shopping on Broughton. An hour later and I'm wonder what's happened to him, so I head over to the shop to see if he's still there, and yes, he's still there, waiting. He's not even next, he's got another guy ahead of him and another guy is still in the chair. And he's been there an hour. So I sat down with him and after a few minutes of checking out the shop I realize the place is filthy. The floor is dirty, there's crap piled up everywhere, and the liquid in the Barbicide dispensers looks cloudy. I left the shop, went out and called Colorboxx, which is right around the corner. I explain what's going on and ask if they can take my husband. The girl put me on hold long enough to check for a stylist and came back and told us to head on over. He got a great haircut there from Marie and even though it cost a bit more than the barber shop, it was totally worth it to know the shop is clean and you aren't going to get some scalp disease from using some grody old comb. I can't comment on any other barber in this place but juan, since he is the only person in the city of savannah I will ever let cut my hair. juan is the best barber in the city, his attention to detail and skill rival haircuts I have received in my home town of Philadelphia. juan is an artist. yes, at times I have waited for up to an hour and a half for a haircut here, does that mean I should give this place 1 star, of course not. it is always worth the wait. read more

I don't usually go on websites to write reviews but,my husband literally had one of the worst haircuts of his life from here.Last week my husband went into the Barber Pole and got his haircut,it's the third time he's been there in total now, we are new here and my husband has to keep his hair short because he's in the Army,so he gets it cut every two weeks.I don't know what the heck happened this last time,I mean it was soooo...bad that I ended up going to walmart buying cheap clippers and shaving his hair down to nothing so he wouldn't have to be embarrassed when he went back to work! It had lines in it,and it was super patchy and uneven too,the woman who did his cut this time said her name was Jenny,let me tell you she shouldn't be doing hair for a living! no joke,she even made my husband really uncomfortable after he asked her to blend it better by coming around the front of the chair and bending over so he could see her cleavage! are you freaking kidding me!!! Now,the younger girl that works there did a great job the last two times he was there,and she was WAY more professional she even gave my husband a military discount,which this Jenny did not do,she charged him full price and yes,she knew he was military. If my husband decides to go back there then I promise you he will only be letting that younger girl with short hair take care of him! I would recommend her by name but neither one of us could remember it,But she is the only twenty something girl there,very nice and does an awesome job!! Stopped in while in town in bad need of a haircut. This place has that old school feel that I imagine what it was like when my grandpa got a haircut. I was seated immediately and got a great cut from one the ladies. She did a great job and got me lookin fresh and clean. They were super friendly. Be advised, it's cash only which just adds to the old school flavor. read more

These people are crazy to think 50 dollars is ok to charge for a hot shave with a straight razor never have I been given a price this high.

My husband asked the barber to cut 1" off my toddlers long curly hair and the barber cut it ALL off. He said my husband was vague about what he wanted. I don't understand how anyone who cuts hair could have done what this barber did. He cut my sons hair so short, I seriously do not know how the barber could have cut my sons curls off without being 100% sure that's what we wanted. My husband was standing there the entire time, the barber could have simply asked. On top of being very disappointed and heartbroken that my sons hair was cut off, they had to wait over an hour. During the haircut the barber also mumbled to the other stylist that he wanted to lock the doors because people kept coming in and he was complaining they may be there until 5. I am in such shock and disbelief at the customer service we received, I will NEVER go back and will tell everyone I know about our experience. Because, I am not the only one shocked that my sons hair is GONE! read more
