The way I found out was when my daughter went for her appointment and they told her it would be somewhere around $100 for what we had been paying $0 previously. No notice! I told her to get back in her car and come home, do not go sit in that chair for your cleaning! The office staff had the audacity to tell me they would charge me for a no show if she didn't stay, somewhere around $100. I laughed, and told her that it is on them for not informing us of their change in accepting our insurance and to come find me for that missed appointment charge - please, come find me! That was the end of going there. It's a shame. I liked Dr Adams, he was nice. It's the lack of communication with the patients in which they lack that led me to find another provider. Touché

My order was canceled without my knowledge and after a week of back and forth they still were not able to order the bite guard. I am Zheng Li, a 60-year-old immigrant woman living alone in the U.S. My son has been deployed to the Middle East, so I have no family support here. My English is limited, and I rely on help to communicate. On July 18, 2025, I went to this clinic for severe tooth pain. I asked if they accepted my insurance, and they said yes. After the exam, they took a $267 deposit and scheduled my next visit for August 5. When I came back, I asked again about my insurance coverage. Only then did they admit they are not in-network with my insurance -- something they never told me before. If I had known, I would never have paid or agreed to treatment. I asked for a refund, but they initially refused. Later, an administrator named Elizabeth promised if the costs were too high, I would get a full refund. But my insurance showed I owe $1,077, not the $419.20 the clinic said. I emailed on October 3, called twice in September and October, but received no response or callback. They have ignored me completely. I have been living with pain from July to October, unable to get proper treatment because they are holding my deposit hostage. As a woman alone with no family support and limited English, this has been an incredibly painful and isolating experience. I feel disrespected, misled, and deeply hurt by their dishonest and unprofessional behavior. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and urge others -- especially immigrants and vulnerable patients -- to avoid this clinic. I'm bummed to switch my dentist because the doctors here are so great, but dealing with this office is a nightmare.

However, they did not even submit the claim to insurance for nearly 2 full months, despite multiple requests to do so. Once they finally submitted the claim (in April), my insurance asked several basic follow-up questions about the treatment so they could process the claim. It has now been another two months and Crabtree Valley Dental has still not provided that info, despite multiple letters from insurance. Over the phone, they keep assuring me they will take care of it but weeks go by with no action. It seems pretty clear now that because they received my money, they they have little interest is helping with my insurance claim. I previously had good experiences with CVD, but I do not recommend that anyone pay for any treatments up front with them. Make them submit to insurance first, because otherwise you may never see that money again.
