I am very disappointed with this practice. My dad needed to have his dentures repaired or replaced. My dad saw an ad on Facebook with them advertising a sale on their dentures, so we decided to try them out. I made an appointment for my dad which was today, January 29, 2026. We arrived, and I completed his paperwork, and then we were called in the back shortly thereafter. While in the back, the technician said she needed to take a panoramic on him. I questioned the panoramic because my dad has no teeth in his mouth. He has a full set of dentures. Additionally, the equipment that they use for the panoramic cannot accommodate my dad who has a tracheostomy (tube in his neck). I explained that to her and showed her and she realized that this in fact was the case. She goes back to speak to someone about it and then comes back to let me know that the dentist can still see my dad, but the dentist won't be able to guarantee treatment. I was quite puzzled by this because there is no point of my dad seeing the dentist if he won't be able to evaluate my dad and decide what needs to happen with his dentures. That would have been a wasted visit and a waste of money. The dentures are the entire reason that we went there to begin with. This dentist does not have the appropriate equipment for someone in my dad's condition to be able to safely have a panoramic done. They were penalizing my dad with not guaranteeing a treatment plan once they evaluated him because he could not do a panoramic that they were not equipped to give him. We never bothered to see the dentist because it made no sense whatsoever. An appointment with Aspen Dental in Garner, NC this morning proved to be very unsatisfying. From the moment we were seen, there was a cold atmosphere from the staff. They were determined to tell us what they wanted to do, rather than take the time to explain our options. After being in pain for 3 days, I felt a little more compassion would be initiated. We selected this location to establish new dental providers due to a move. I called and asked specifically if they took children, they did. But can't do anything other than cleaning. Ok, waste of money. They also mention finance manager several times before even seeing the dentist, so I was prepared for a sales pitch. I have seen my previous dentists for many years, and was super satisfied and have not needed any work recently. All I wanted was a check up and cleaning. But you can't do that, you need 3 different scans and bite wing X-rays and 3D scans but won't clean. I spent over 1 1/2 hours for a new cleaning. So, I book a cleaning, and confirmed. Took off for work, and they cancled! They also canceled my son's appointment with no warning. So unprofessional and rude. No concern about other people's time. Worse dental office EVER! This Aspen Dental location charges $200 for 1 minute of service cleaning out food debris from two pegs on the lower jaw of an 87 year old patient. Insurance did not pay and the customer had to pay this on a fixed income. This was told to the interim manager and she was not open to any discount or change to the amount. Think twice about this when choosing a company that even has a promise of delivering low prices to their customers on the recording while waiting on the phone. read more

Called yesterday 2/21/25 and asked questions about getting an extraction and the cost of a consultation. I was told that there was NO cost for a consultation and that I would be able to get my tooth extracted. Arrived today 2/22/25 and was told that my insurance would be charged for the consultation and xray. I agree to the consultation and xray only to be told that the doctor may not be able to complete my extraction due to being in surgery. I'm furious that I have wasted my time, gas, and energy coming here when I could have been told all of this yesterday when I called. this place has go to be a scam. I came in for a cracked filling. I was there for 2 hours, received no dental work just initial x rays. Doc looked at it and told me I needed a crown. they then tell you to speak to their financial advisor before proceeding with anything. i waited another 25 mins to be quoted $5,000 then $2,200 for only the crown and no other work really pushing for payment plans with high apr. I left with with a cracked tooth, called riccobene in benson and they re did the filling and my bill was $60 and everything complete within an hour. read more

Initially I had a pretty good experience, As a new patient I needed to get a full set of images of my teeth and that experience was great. Also doing the intake paper for was good and loved that it was done all on an iPad and didn't have any issues. Ok Here is where things started to go wrong. I haven't had any work done in years so I might be out of touch with how much things cost but it seemed very expensive. I had a obsessed molar and it was painful and the doctor at that location could not do an extraction and had to do a referral. That in itself is ok as in these cases it is better to treat with antibiotics until the infection is under control before doing any procures. I was prescribed a pain med (2 day supply) and a antibiotic (10 days). After two days my pain has not subsided and I requested a new RX to cover me over the weekend. I called first thing Thursday morning, waited until 1pm I called back and had to leave a message because the phone system said that no one was able to answer the call. I had to end up emailing the front desk attendant and also calling corporate. Friday rolled around and I found out that the office closes Friday at noon. Thankfully I have pain meds for my spinal stenosis. But I can't drive and take them. Also due to the new laws on opioids I can only get a limited quantity per month of that pain med so now I will be short this month. I never hear back from the doctor on why he couldn't refill my pain meds. Then the next week Tuesday I found out that the antibiotic I was taking was accidentally thrown away. I called to get it replaced and was told that I had to wait until the 20th to request it to be refilled. So I did, And again I called early am on the 20th and the attendant said that she would let Dr Chen know and that they would call me back. Sadly again I waited until 11:30 and I called them back and they stand that Dr. Chen was really busy and that he would call back. I forgot that the 20th was a Friday. 3pm of corse no call. So I called the cooperate number. And not even them knew that the practice was closed for the weekend. They had me call the emergency number. I called and the messaging service said that the would have the on call Dr call me. I never was called. I am sorry but that was the last straw. I can not recommend aspen dental for these failures. It is a real shame as their quality of care when you are in their office is great. But their follow up and communications are terrible. Update 10/23/2023 4:30pm This morning I did get an email reply that Dr Chen has called in a RX for me. And I now have antibiotics but it still remains that the emergency on call DR. Never contacted me, Also I have had really bad pain and swelling for the past 4 days witch could have been avoided. The only relief was at night when I could take my other pain meds that I have a limited supply. Since I am on blood thinners I can not take NSAIDS and also since I am on liver statins I can't take large doses of Tylenol. So my options for pain relief is limited. read more

I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment yesterday and was told to just sit in the waiting area until the staff were back from lunch. At 1:30 when my appointment was scheduled the friendly receptionist began calling people up to the desk. After a few others were called up it was my turn and I gave my insurance information and filled out the iPad questionnaire and returned it. I then waited until 2:40 PM to get called back. Once I followed the tech into the room she said "I see you're here to get a partial." I was shocked and said no I'm a new patient here for a cleaning and checkup. She then proceeded to leave the room, another 10 minutes goes by and she returns with the nice receptionist asking me my email address and other information. It appeared my information was intermingled with another patients' info. Once that was settled, the tech proceeded to take me down the hall to the Xray room, except another tech and a patient walked right by us and into the same room, so my tech said oh we have to wait now. I was so frustrated at this point I told her I'd been there for an hour and a half and was this normal for them. She apologized and advised they were short staffed. We then waited until the room was free and proceeded to take the X-rays. After that I was put back in the initial room to wait for the dental hygienist. He came in and looked at my X-rays and proceeded to measure my gums. He then advised I was in the very early stages of periodontal disease and would need a deep cleaning. He said it would take an hour and a half and I'd have to schedule another appointment for it. Now I've been going to the dentist every 6 months for years and never had this type of diagnosis. He then said to wait for the doctor to come in to talk about my teeth. Dr. Chen came in and advised me my teeth looked perfect, no cavities and no issues he could see. He was very polite. He then sent me to yet another waiting area to be called back to schedule my next appointment and be advised of the copay. After waiting a few more minutes I was called into an office by a young gentleman that proceeded to tell me it would cost me $196 for the deep cleaning I needed. I was shocked as I knew my insurance covers 80%. He said that the full cost of the cleaning is $1100 to which I advised him I'd need to think about it and left. Now I'm out 3 hours of my day and still didn't get a teeth cleaning. I will pay cash to go somewhere else and get a second opinion because it sounds ridiculous to me. Needless to say I won't be returning here. I also read on google reviews of similar stories of people being told the $1100 cleaning was necessary when they went elsewhere and found out differently. This place is a rip off. They told me I needed $30,000 worth of dental work done. They were so pushy for me to get financed. They dentist told me I had to remove all of my molars and they could not be saved when another dentist already told me she could do my dental work. I only went to aspen on an emergency basis but I will not be going back ever. They told me the cleaning I needed was $1200 and I had to pay 60% up front. When I told the girl handling the finances I needed to discuss this with my husband she caught a slight attitude. Be careful of this place. read more

RUN AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Very bad experience. Went for Dentures and it seems that all they do is scan the impressions and digitally make your dentures. The teeth themselves are very big and bulky, compared to my old set of dentures. None of them fit correctly and when im went back for adjustments, i was placed with very inexperienced acting young people. Everyone i came in contact with there was very inexperienced or acted very un confident in what they were doing. They assumed that i wanted the most expensive dentures they have and was already to set me up on a finance plan. Almost like a pushy car salesman. I should of left then. I really didn't like the fact that no one sat in front of me and explained what they where doing all i heard was them scanning the impressions. After 5 or 6 visits, OF ADJUSTMENTS AND THREE SETS OF TEETH. i asked for my money back and they gave me all of it back but $200, they said that it was for the x rays and exam. They just didn't know what to do with it. So now i am out all my days off work and out $200 and still have no teeth. I loved being able to make an appointment right away and being able to do so online. I think I made it a week out. And then they emailed and called you and texted you to remind you of your appointment. But my appointment was at 4 PM and I got there 15 minutes early because I was a new patient and had to fill out forms and I waited an hour and 15 minutes and still did not get seen. There were people waiting ahead of me for that amount of time or longer. When I left, they asked if I wanted to reschedule and I said hell no I'm a new patient and I'm gonna be taking my business elsewhere, also when I called to give them my dental insurance I was on hold for over a half an hour. I hope leaving this helps some people out before booking with this place. I first made an appointment and called for a quote for just a regular cleaning without insurance, a woman on the phone let me know it would only be $108 which sounds good so i booked an appointment for a cleaning or so i thought. Once they called me back to confirm a few days before I just asked again just to confirm what was included and what i was getting done a man told me on the phone it was just for a consultation not a cleaning and they do not give quotes for cleanings .. I thought that was weird but understood so when i went in i filled out what i needed to and the receptionist had let me know we would be able to do a cleaning today which i was thrilled about of course because that's what i wanted done. A few people later coming in and out and checking my teeth, I was letting each person know i didn't have insurance so whatever they were doing I wanted to make sure was the cheapest options for me. They let me know i had some bacteria infection in my back teeth in my gums and said i would have to do a "deep cleaning" instead of a regular cleaning & they sent me to the finance guy they have there and he explained it would be $800 for that type of cleaning of course i was still desperate to get them done because it's been awhile since i've been and he said it would take about an hour. So when I'm in the chair my hygienist numbed me for it with cream and did to my knowledge was a deep cleaning but really nothing was different from that and a regular cleaning to me besides kind of going over my gums a little more and I'm pretty sure you're suppose to have ur teeth flossed during a cleaning and i did not even get that done and the " deep cleaning" took just as long as regular cleaning not even more than 30 mins. At the end my hygienist gave me all these things like an electric toothbrush, a water flosser, toothpaste and mouthwash which i thought maybe included until i left and saw the paperwork with my bill that was at 1,576.... I was kind of in shock and just left. I came back the next morning after calling about returning the stuff i was given and taking it off of my bill and of course not to mention in order to pay for this they talked me into a credit card to be able to pay for the cleaning. Once i came in and those things were taken off it went back down but to $707 still not great but i feel like being young and being new to having no insurance and coming in they definitely took advantage of that and also i feel like the procedure i was charged was very unnecessary and i would've been fine with a regular cleaning which feel like that's all i got honestly! This was very disappointing and discouraging that i still left with my bill being $707 when i feel like i should've just been charged for a regular cleaning because thats really what i got. Id like to add they first got it down to only $810 and i was returning everything and they told me they think the mouthwash and toothpaste was included and when i asked them to check again they did and it took a whole $100 off !! I feel like these people are huge time scammers and i feel like it's mainly the hygienist there too because the doctor had let me know she didn't see anything too concerning and my teeth looked great! Had made a next appointment with them but cancelled that right after all of this and will not be back & even after cancelling later that day still got an email saying my appt was confirmed? I called them back and they said it can take up to 24hrs to cancel but i still don't understand why an appt all the way in Jan is being confirmed still? I also asked about my new receipt i was waiting on after my changes and said they still hadn't checked over it & i should have it back at the end of the day but with this place i really doubt it! This location is SO MUCH BETTER than the Fuquay one. Take the extra minutes to come to this one. The staff and Drs are awesome ! They treat you with kindness and don't try to upsell and pressure you. They are also a an emergency dentist as well. read more

My first visit I went in due to chipping two teeth everything went smoothly they let me know I would need a cleaning before I could get the filling which was cool however prior to leaving the systems were dow I did not receive a follow up I waited hours before I decided to call once I called I was giving a "Guesstimate" due to the systems being down but nothing was followed up with a full break down my second scheduled appointment I came in to get my cleaning and filling for the two teeth I chipped the cleaning went really well the hygienist was really nice and empathic. I get to my second half the filing that started off pretty well when finishing up I was given a mirror to take a look I was not the happiest with the fill I knew it was not going to be perfect however I do not like the chipped look the dentist advised me making it longer may result in it chipping I I w not caught up on the length more so the fact its still chipped just longer he was aware that I did not like the outcome he scheduled a post opp to give me time which that day I was unhappy so I knew no matter how long of a wait I was going to still want to add to the filling. That appointment was scheduled two weeks out! My next visit was to get my second cleaning on this visit I got there as I'm checking in I was advised it would be $694 for this cleaning. The payment would not have been a big deal if knew ahead of time. I go talk with the person I spoke with on the phone my first visit and she does let me know that she did note for staff to let me know about payments however they did not I understand that ofcoarse I would have to get work done at the dentist but for me to have never received a break down of payment or anything the best way to handle that situation would have been letting me proceed with my cleaning then speaking about a payment. Today I come to my follow up I go straight back we discuss if I'm satisfied if ive had any pain..etc.. i let them know again it definitely looks better but I would like to make them atleast even with each other to avoid the chipped look so I did want to add to fill before we start the office staff notifies him I have not made a payment I let him know in that moment I can make the payment no problem as we are about to start the fill he says "see this one is already chipping" so i just told him it was fine I made a payment and went about my day. When looking at my teeth initially if the dentist did NOT think a filling would be best it would have been nice to be advised prior I went in open to the best option. I was told so many times you're not going to get the perfect smile but I have seen it done, it can get done and it will get done! The lack of professionalism and empathy that was shown was insane. Aspen Dental team was phenomenal and was able to get me in with a same day appointment for bad toothache that started over the weekend and only got worse. I have severe anxiety when going to dentist but I couldn't put it off any longer. The team was very patient and kind and truly cared about taking care of me and getting me out of pain. After performing a full exam with xrays and 3D scan (which was totally free!!!), the hygienist came in and did his exam and then Dr. Spo came in and took his time with me and told me he could get me out of pain TODAY!!!...within an hour I was out of pain!!! Hallelujah and AMEN!!!...cant thank Dr. Spo and his team enough for all their help! I've been looking for a dentist for a long time but have always been scared to go...not here. I am thrilled to have found a dentist I can trust and would recommend all my friends and family as well! Thank you Dr. Spo!!! You are amazing!!!! read more
