The front desk manager Detra knew my name and even my husbands name and I had only come once. The dental assistant Traci had me laughing the entire time. Then Doc Byrd came in to the back and immediately joined in the fun. He took his time explaining to me everything that he was going to do and explained it again after it was done. I chose Wake Orthodontics and could not be happier. As a geriatric patient with a mouth full of problems, I was not expecting much. I told Dr. Collie I just wanted a pretty smile. Wake Orthodontics with Dr. Collie have far exceeded all expectations. I arrive about five minutes before my appointment and am seen almost immediately. There is an office in Smithfield which is extremely convenient. HIs staff are knowledgeable, friendly, encourage questions and get answers. The time, effort and work done on my teeth are amazing. As I have watched my mouth turn from a mess into one that creates a pretty smile, I feel so very grateful to Dr. Collie and his staff. For youths, I have talked with dozens of his youth patients and their parents. I have not heard a single complaint or concern. They charged ONE price, and worked with her for eleven years, to help her adult teeth come in straighter, using little bars and other tricks, so that her time with braces, and the trauma to her mouth and teeth was minimized. There hygienist was also amazing and really took her time explaining things and was very professional. My only 2 complaints are: 1. I always had to pay a lot more then the treatment plan stated. I know that the statement only states an approximate. But it's a huge difference paying over a $1000 more then stated on the plan. 2. There was one assistant that helped doing the fillings and it seemed like she was new because she needed a lot of help and sometimes she will hurt me by not knowing what she was doing. It took a lot longer then it should and it was really painful and keeping my mouth open while she had to get someone to help her multiple times during the treatment was really annoying. I had a few fillings done that day and I wish they'd had someone scheduled that was a little more gentle and faster and more experienced. I wouldn't mind and would be more understanding if I had only a little work done. Still a good place to go to and I'll keep going because of the doctors and their hygienist. Hope thought that I don't have as many surprising bills and maybe the assistant is better trained next time.
