The two lady dentists are seen only briefly on a 6 mo visit. I see one, my spouse sees the other. We like them both & they do good checks & did 1 cap for me. My invisalign gave only modest results & lifetime retainer required?) Office Issues: often long waits, very cold office (I bring my own blanket & jacket) & the hygienists (recently) don't spend enough time on the cleaning/plaque removal or coach on oral, gum or lifestyle health. I have had better but I continue here bc they have easy parking, are in my network, offer some yearly dental insurance if you don't have coverage (good benefit) & have kept me from major problems. Like other med professionals they are pressed for time but they need to talk more about what's going well, what could be better & be more fully present & interested in their patients. read more

Rude receptionists, long wait time while front desk personnel ignored me and talked loudly about what to eat for lunch. Slow, ignorant and lazy. Then the person that cleaned my kids teeth didn't even speak English?!! One of the Dentist's was just hanging out in hall and I caught him staring at one of my boys like a damn Pedefyle. Eventually our Dentist showed up like a used car salesman from hell and instead of asking , he tried to tell me what appointments were going to happen immediately. Do Not Go TO DENTALWORKS in Cary - like we have been for several years! 1 - Receptionist(s) are rude. I was told as soon as I walked in that I didn't have insurance and I would have to pay. I have insurance and have had it for years. After her trying to correct me I had to call the insurance company to get it straight and she acted as if nothing had happened. 2 - They said I needed x-rays and I had them the time before, but ok I did it and they were training an x-ray tech. Well after killing my mouth and doing it wrong several times they finally finished - by this time I was ready to run. I had my teeth cleaned and she flossed my teeth so hard my mouth was hurting. 3 - She finally finished and as I was leaving I noticed that they DID NOT EVEN HAVE MY RECORDS they were using my husbands records. I told the hygienist that's not my record and she said well it's what the receptionist gave us. WELL IT WAS WRONG! Glad I survived! 4 - WE will be taking our business somewhere else. read more

This is a very disappointed dental office! I visited this office on 12/28/2021 for teeth cleaning. I told both the front clerk and the people inside that I only wanted to do a regular teeth cleaning. They checked my dental insurance, and told me to pay $40 extra, and that the insurance would cover the rest. I paid $40 accordingly. After cleaning, I was told that my teeth had cavity, and need to be filled, and my insurance would cover the teeth filling at 100 percentage. Then I did the filling on 12/29/2021. Surprisingly, I received a bill of $557.64. I contacted the insurance company, and I was told that the dental office misunderstood the dollar amount as percentage when their front desk clerk checked my insurance coverage against the insurance company's online system. That is, the dental office made a mistake and thus generated a large amount of bill. However, the dental office did not take its own responsibility, and asked the customer to pay in full. This is unreasonable! Do not do business with such an irresponsible dental office. read more

Horrible Experience!! During my initial consultation I was asked to get a deep cleaning done. I told the Dr. that I had the procedure done 6 months ago with my previous dentist but I would get it done again if she felt it was necessary. She said she recommends it but it was ultimately my decision and the front office would give me the quote and then I could decide. They told me it would cost $145 and I agreed to get the procedure done. Two months later I get a bill for an additional $700 because the procedure is only covered once every 2 years by the insurance company. Now they wont even make an appointment to do a routine cleaning for my son unless I pay them. The billing dept. and the office manager are incompetent at best and crooks at worst. Customer's Beware!! Wow, I received a call this morning from the office to remind me about an upcoming appointment. They inform me that they were going to CHARGE a fee for the Covid-19 for their PPE. What kind of B---S--- is this, if insurance company doesn't want to pay for the extra fee for your PPE it not a legitimate cost. I have my own business working with customers everyday. So I call a customer back after this call and told them I will have to charge you a PPE Fee for my employees working for their protection, before I could start working on their project. Their response was if you a going to implement a PPE fee, then we will have to do business with another company. So Dental Works, thanks for the notice a few days before my appointment. RUN, don't walk, far far away from here! I hate the dentist to begin with. Dread going to the dentist. This place has just confirmed my every fear of dentists and then some. My former dentist is located in my hometown and it was past due to find one locally in Raleigh. This one is conveniently located in Crossroads and my insurance worked here so I figured why not! First of all, the dentist insisted that I needed to get x-rays done since I was a first time patient at their location even though I was not due for x-rays and my past dentist could easily send over my pre-existing information. One dental assistant went ahead and took 937865397402357021 x-rays anyways. They were painful! Then I saw the actual dentist for a hot minute. Another dental assistant cleaned my teeth. Then I had to wait 20 minutes for yet another assistant to floss/pick my teeth. The appointment took 2 hours. My insurance was supposed to cover the entire appointment but then they sent me a $100 bill for the x-rays. I made several phone calls explaining that I did not feel that it was fair for me to pay for the x-rays since it was a service that I did not need or want in the first place. Over the phone, they agreed to stop charging me. Then next thing I know, I am getting letters and phone calls from a collections agency! What &#*@%#($ jerks. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This practice impressed me so much that I did take the time to share my high recommendation. I've seen many dentists in my life. Dr Ghodke truly stands out for her knowledge, skill and compassionate care. The *entire staff* are genuine and have consistently made me feel very comfortable and respected as a patient. I needed a crown for some time. The risks and benefits were thoroughly explained, but I was never made to feel "pressured" or judged for my hesitance. There are hundreds of dentists in the Triangle. Do Not Go Here For Your Dental Needs! CAUTION: Unnecessary Procedures & Aggressive Dental Plan! TLDR - You are NOT a patient here, just an unwitting customer getting scalped. The short of it: I visited DentalWorks Cary for a dental cleaning and was told I had gingivitis and needed "Root and Planning" (a very invasive procedure to clean severe calculus build up BELOW the Gums and deep gum pockets) done, I also had 4 cavities that needed to be filled! I went to another dentist office for a second opinion because I couldn't believe what I was told by Dentist Lindsay! The second dentist informed me I had ONE small cavity in one tooth. The second "cavity I had" was just some tartar build up in the back of my mouth where the previous Dentist said I had two cavities and NO gingivitis, they were surprised I was told I needed "Root and Planning" done. The Long Story Step By Step: - I will say everyone at DentalWorks is very polite. The dental hygienist inspected my teeth and did a measurement on my gum pockets, I had a lot of 4's and 3's, and lots of bleeding due to how deep the hygienist pressed into my gums, she did apologize about the pain - I believe this was by design, so they could give me a nice pamphlet telling me I had gingivitis. I asked if I was going to get my cleaning done, and was told the dentist would make that recommendation and she has to see my teeth first. The dentist as polite as could be inspected my teeth, told me I had four cavities/cavity surfaces, and that I would not be getting a standard cleaning, but that I needed "Root and Planning" as my gums had so much tartar/dental calculus beneath them which took me by complete surprise, but what did I know? I don't know whats beneath my gums. I was then told they didn't have enough time to get a cleaning done that day and that I needed to reschedule, they printed a bill for me showing what my insurance would cover - charges to seal FOUR Cavities on ONLY TWO TEETH, as well as the rooting and planning ALL on the same day, they conveniently had an opening the very next day, I didn't feel comfortable about all of this so I asked to push it back a week. After I left that morning I did some research and Rooting and Scaling is typically done for SEVERE periodontal disease. I called another practice and scheduled an appointment for a cleaning as they hadn't done my cleaning and needed a second opinion. I arrived at the NEW Dental office, when they hygienist measured my gums, My gums had MIRACULOUSLY HEALED and my deep pockets were not so deep anymore - I had 1's, 2's, 3's and I had fours near my wisdom teeth. I did NOT have any gum BLEEDING nor did I have excessive pain like when I was at DentalWorks. The hygienist reassured me that 4's near my wisdom teeth are not of a great concern etc etc and was surprised I had been suggested "Root and Planning" as I had NO tartar calculus build up - the hygenist then proceeded to clean my teeth, I asked if she saw a cavity where the previous dentist said I had one, (the other cavity I had, I did not ask about because I had a seal done and could visibly see it, the one I asked about was so far back I couldn't see it well) and she said some tartar build up, but the dentist would be able to verify once she inspected and saw the X-rays. X-Rays were taken, teeth cleaned, the dentist inspected, one small cavity, and no need for an invasive 'root and planning' for my "Gingivitis" I can only thank the Lord that I went to DentalWorks ONCE! TLDR - You are NOT a patient here, just an unwitting customer getting scalped. read more

I'm not one to write a bad review, in fact I never have before, but my experience with Dental Works in Cary was one of the most awful, unorganized, and ignorant encounters I've ever received from a dental office. I'm writing this to hopefully save someone else the hassle from even stepping foot into this dental office. I highly recommend going to Dental Works in Durham, where they were extremely professional and also very informative. (Honestly, you're better off going anywhere else.) I'm going to make this short and just write all the things that pretty much forced me to inform others of my experience. I entered the office with the thought that my wisdom teeth were coming in and had chipped off one of my back teeth completely, causing me a lot of pain. My boyfriend and I had to leave work early and we went here because it was close and had good reviews. My boyfriend asked the woman at the front desk if they do oral surgery here, on the window out front it states that they do. She informed him that they do not but they refer people to oral surgeons. We then asked if I could just go straight to an oral surgeon and cut out this middle step to save everyone the time and also to save us the money. She told us no and that this was the first step always. Later on my mom calls back and the woman on the phone lied to my mom and said she told us both we could just go to an oral surgeon first, because you definitely can go straight to an oral surgeon. I went into the back and also felt pressured into getting a Panoramic x-ray which costs about $120. I knew the back tooth in my mouth could most likely be seen with just a normal x-ray, because I thought it was infected, but the dental assistant and also the dentist both said that it is necessary for a referral. That an oral surgeon will not even look at me if I didn't have one. I paid $80 for a dental exam, which I hardly received. I saw my dentist for all of maybe 3 minutes, 20 of those SECONDS were spent with her actually looking in my mouth.. For those 20 seconds she only looked at that one tooth which had stuff that i had put into it to block the exposed nerve. She didn't take it out, she didn't inform me on what was going on, she didn't tell me why I was in so much pain, she only said "yep you should probably have that removed and I can't do that here". I had no idea why. I went to a dentist for HELP and INFORMATION and received none. I told both the dental assistant and the dentist that I had been taking ibuprofen for the past 2 months every single day. I told them I was taking a ton, almost 6 at a time, twice a day and it wasn't helping at all. When I left the dentist she told me she would give me something to get me through until I had this tooth removed and I received more ibuprofen... I paid $200 to have a very expensive picture of my mouth and for more ibuprofen. I went in spending a lot of money I didn't have and got pretty much nothing out of it. I went home crying. I called my mom to have her see if she could call back and find out what is going on with my mouth. I really couldn't bare going any longer with this agonizing pain. I received nothing from this dental office, not even concern for my teeth or the pain I was in. My mom called in and she asked them for better medicine to get me through the weekend and they never returned any of her calls for help. After my mom had talked to this women, they told my mom that they had scheduled an appointment to have it removed at Dental Works in Durham at 1 on a Tuesday. Come to find out.. Dental works in Durham is closed 1-2 DAILY. They had never scheduled me an appointment. They told my mom it would be $195, NO HIDDEN FEES, but it was $314 because of the Oral Exam the oral surgeon had to do anyway. I could keep going, but I don't have the time. This place was a waste of my time, looked at me only as dollar signs, and showed no interest in actually preforming dental practices or help. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I had a terrible experience here, this is not reflected on the Dr.'s they have working there because she was polite, nice and helpful. However, BEWARE OF THEIR INCOMPETENT STAFF. I went in for a routine cleaning, my first time there. I had previously switched insurances and had a waiting period of 6 months before i could have any "work" done. I had a cavity and they informed me that i needed to get it filled i asked to schedule an appointment for after my waiting period was over. I let THEIR RECEPTIONIST handle it, which was obviously the wrong choice. She booked the appointment for a month before my insurance kicked in. Because i have NEVER EVER had a problem with scheduling appointments i did not even think to check behind her. They did not verify my insurance before they proceeded with the work, WHICH I THINK IS A SCAM, because after I was finished they told me that I owed 580 dollars. The receptionist ran my card without my authorization after I told her this was incorrect. They told me they were giving me a discount since i had insurance. and then two months later i received ANOTHER BILL IN THE MAIL. DO NOT TRUST THEIR RECEPTIONISTS, when I spoke with the manager she informed me that she was not there and couldn't verify whether or not her staff did anything wrong. I will never be returning to a Dental Works ever in the future. GO TO A LOCAL DENTIST OFFICE WHERE THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOU AND NOT JUST YOUR MONEY. read more

Went there today for two appointments, had a filling at 8am. Doctor Lyndsey and her assistant Jessica where both very friendly. Let me tell you I hate going to the dentist due to bad experances when I was younger, but they both helped calm me down and mad the process enjoyable. Came back at 10 for a cleaning with Mrs. Becky (I believe) and she was so nice and so carefull. She explained everything she was doing which helped put me at ease. I see Dr. Ghodke at the practice. She's always fantastic and takes great care of me. However, the administrative staff at the practice is SO horrible they've completely chased me away. I now have to find a new dentist, because they are so impossible to deal with! Some of the issues are below: 1. Long Hold Times: I called in to verify that they took my new insurance. I was on hold for over 25 minutes before I gave up. They continually put you on hold for over 10 minutes. When I'm at their practice, I watched them put people on hold, then talk to each other. 2. Extremely rude staff answering the phone: When I tried to make an appointment, I let them know that I could only have an early morning/late afternoon appointment (due to my job). I let them know that I understood I may need to wait longer for an appointment at that time. The girl complained to me that no one was taking the mid-day appointments. It took OVER 10 minutes to convince her to give me an appointment at the time I needed! 3. I got a phone call the DAY of my appointment (made 2 months in advance) asking me to com in for a mid-day appointment instead. The reason? They TOLD me they just wanted to GO HOME EARLY! When I told them I couldn't switch, they told me they would call me back and tell me if they would be able to keep my appointment (I never heard back, but showed up for my appointment anyway). 4. No response from corporate: My husband and I have had continuous problems with the practice over the last 5 years. I've emailed their corporate office several times, with no response. They never return phone calls, either. We have talked to the local practice manager several times, but clearly nothing has changed! Dental Works CLEARLY doesn't value their patients at all. It's very clear that they would prefer no patients, since they want to go home early and want to talk to each other instead of their clients. I'm sad to leave my dentist behind, but I can't run away fast enough from the horrible treatment I've gotten from their front desk/administrative staff. read more

I went to a previous dentist that told me I needed $10,000 worth of dental work done. I saw Dr. Ghodke for a second opinion who told me that most of those crowns were just fillings that I needed and my treatment was much less costly. Her calm demeanor really put me at ease. The front office staff was fantastic in making an appointment for me sooner rather than later and explaining my insurance to me. Great staff and doctors. I recently had a wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Best. He was pleasant and helped me feel at ease. However, there's an assistant there (Spanish descent with dreads) and she was the most disrespectful woman I have ever encountered. I'm pregnant so I couldn't get the anesthesia. Once she found out about my pregnancy, she began asking questions about my age. I told her that I'm 23 and she went on to say she has a daughter close to my age(25) & "she was raised better to not get pregnant anytime soon". Then she went on to ask if my designer bag was fake? I replied "no, my boyfriend bought it for me." She then told me "you should dump your boyfriend for buying that because I think it's fake." It literally took every bone in my body to not tell that lady off but I didn't want to upset myself. She brags so much about her children's upbringing but clearly her mother didn't teach her " if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all." I will NEVER return again because of that experience. read more

My experience here was an emotional roller coaster ranging from sadness to a deep abyss of anger. The first time I went to get my extremely crooked teeth checked out by an orthodontist in 9th grade... I came home and cried. The orthodontist was a jerk who made fun of my "alligator bite". I knew my teeth were bad but the last thing I wanted to hear was how ugly my teeth were when I couldn't even get my braces on for another few months. The second and third times I went there I had different orthodontists... which I was not given any explanation about. I was told that putting on braces had to be delayed because I had to get a tooth removed... which would take another month and a half to get that done and then make an appointment. I was devastated but understood... at least until the next time when I showed up excited to get my teeth fixed and they told me I had to wait because they told me I needed to get another tooth removed. I cried right there in the chair. These people were torturing me it felt like! The orthodontist felt bad at my crying and agreed to put in a few brackets and a little bit of wire to start... OK it wasn't ideal but after a few weeks my teeth started looking better. Later I finally got all of my braces on and over the next couple years my teeth started looking pretty great. The problem with this place though is that everyone is so lazy that you can't schedule an appointment when it is time to get your braces looked at. There was a 3 month gap I had to wait, a few months before my braces came out... simply because everyone had a month and a half off for the winter holidays.... WHAT?? Luckily I finally got my braces out (before prom :) ) and my teeth look great. Its been about 4 years since my braces have come off and I do have to say my teeth still look great... but I'd say I am much more of an advocate of braces and competent orthodontists than this place... as I felt they cared little about taking decent care of a self conscious teenager. read more
