Barbara's Flowers - Premium Desert Sunrise. Gorgeous!!! - Florists Near Me - New York, New York

A highly reliable florist who has definite ties to the community. This place works best if you go with ample time to soak in their offerings (and fragrances) to pick out the right gift for your loved or special person. However, they are also very adept at creating a thoughtful arrangement at the very last minute. Of course, last minute situations lead to limitations but so far it has been a great option. They deliver and also create custom arrangements. A number of my friends have used this company for their weddings and soirees. The flowers are always fresh and long lasting. Great customer service and follow up. read more

Excellent service, and friendly staff. I've gotten two beautiful arrangements here, and both times I gave them a price range and they put together something really lovely within 20 minutes. Floral arrangements can feel so overpriced, but at Barbara's I feel like I get excellent value. And getting to support a local small business is a nice bonus! read more

Used Barbara's Flowers again this year for mother's day. Beautiful arrangement, delivery on schedule. Thanks again.

Where do I start? This place is as unprofessional as they come. The first time I came it was 10:15am on a weekday, on crutches. They were closed. You could imagine my disappointment traveling to this plant shop to make myself feel better about a sprained ankle and they're not even open. However, I understand. With NY train delays, or just commuting in NY as a whole can be a little treacherous. So instead of waiting I decided to try again another day. A few weeks later, and a semi recovered sprained ankle, I decided to go back on a weekend during lunch hours. This time, they were open. It's a small boutique smushed in between a few random stores so do not expect much. When I walked in there was one other customer and a man in the back room. My friend and I were never greeted. We shrugged it off and looked around at the plant selections they had available. It was a selection with potential, but everything was dying. Literally every plant had numerous dead leaves. I was pretty bummed. We walked to the front and the back of the store twice to make sure we didn't miss anything and still not even a hello. The customer had already left and the man working stayed in the back room. Apparently his game of solitaire was much more important. At that point I was over it. I've given Barbara's Flowers two tries and I was disappointed both times. It's a shame, this shop is not too far from my apartment and I would've loved for it to be my new jungle haven, but I guess I'm still on the hunt. read more

I am really disappointed with the floral arrangement that I received from Barbara's flowers. Let me start by saying I reached out via email on April 9th requesting a quote based on the arrangement I wanted. Eight days went by without a response therefore I called the establishment and forwarded the email I sent on April 9th. I received a response fairly quick and I was very specific with what I wanted and includes a photo as well. I was told that the arrangement would cost $125-$150, so I opted for the $150 arrangement because I was hoping for a luxurious and beautiful arrangement. Unfortunately when I picked up the arrangement yesterday it was far from what I expected. The flowers were dried out and some were even dead. I specifically wanted darker pink roses as I showed in my inspiration photo and there were NONE whatsoever! The large vase that I received to place the arrangement on top of was cracked in the top as well. Given that the flowers were pre-paid and I made the transaction seamless for Barbara's Flowers, I expected quality but received less than. Lastly, the total was $163.31 and I truly feel overcharged for what I received. I will never utilize their services again. I am leaving one stars for the following: 1) The arrangement was ready at the pick up time. Shop at your own risk! read more

Very nice flower shop. Didn't know what I wanted exactly and the receptionist got me the perfect flower set without trying to Jip me. Very much appreciated and will be back! read more

I wish I took a picture of my order. So it was Valentine's Day and I wanted something special and different you know everyone's doing roses. So I walk in around 10am and the gentleman was patient and helpful not just to me but other customers. I walked in not knowing what I wanted but there was so many examples on display. Something just caught my eye and I was like that's it and he took it to the back added some green and white accents. Loved the finished result. read more

Great prices, beautiful presentation and friendly people. I wanted some flowers to add a touch of spring to my apartment, told the guy that I wanted to spend $40, and walked away with a beautiful bouquet of purple lilies, orange roses, red orchids and pretty light and dark tropical greens. It was beautifully arranged and wrapped with bamboo and bright green tissue. I really love it, and it would easily cost $80+ somewhere else in NYC or from 1-800-flowers. I didn't love that they don't have their cut flowers out on display - it's obvious most of their $$ comes in from events and deliveries - but I'm glad I trusted them with my money anyway. If you're looking for something very specific I'd give them a call and make a special request in advance, rather than trying to stop in on the fly. I don't think their inventory is consistent or expansive, more overage from their large orders. They will definitely be my go to florist, I'm more than glad to spend my money locally and get a very pretty bang for my buck. :) Yay! Spring! read more

Barbara's Flowers - $40 later... Pretty! - Florists Near Me - New York, New York

Tara and her team at Barbara's Flowers really outdid themselves at our wedding. Tara and her design team were extremely accommodating to my specific requests, especially when comprehending my vision, and couldn't have been more generous with their support and suggestions to complement my vision. I wish there was something negative that I could write so this review doesn't read as ingratiating, but there really isn't anything that I could say. The flowers were fresh, the arrangements were gorgeous, and the tablescape/wall accent decor was breathtaking. Tara helped me decide on every element from the linens and chairs to the tablescape and wall accents too! I really don't know what I would've done without her! At Barbara's Flowers, you are in great hands. I highly recommend them for any occasion! read more

They gave me a very small bouquet of half-wilted flowers for almost $40. Not coming back.

Valentine's day was a Sunday this year, so I asked Barbara's Flowers to deliver an arrangement to my daughter on Saturday. There was a mixup and they got delivered on Saturday...a week early. She loved them, no matter what day. Even so, Les at Barbara's graciously insisted on sending another arrangement on the next Saturday, with no charge to me. Those flowers were equally beautiful. My daughter loved them so much that she did a still life painting of both arrangements. I would highly recommend Barbara's for the quality of their flowers and their unsurpassed customer service. Thank you Les! read more

This florist is incredible. I have been the lucky recipient of flowers from them on multiple occasions coming from family from out of town. My family members who place the orders rave about the wonderful experience and ease of ordering from such kind business owners. The arrangements that arrive are stunning! So vibrant and colorful. Truly beautiful. Even the delivery persons are sweet, happy, and kind. Receiving an arrangement from this business is always a wonderful surprise. Support a local business! read more

THANK YOU to Tara and the staff at Barbara's for their talent and assistance in making my wedding flowers beautiful! From the start, Tara was really awesome to work with. At our initial meeting, she saw pictures of my dress, and my ideas on pinterest and was able to gauge exactly what my taste was and what I envisioned. She was spot-on; and executed such a beautiful bridal bouquet. I loved it so much that I recently requested a replica of the bouquet in artificial flowers! She was just so sweet and approachable. To be honest, I am going to miss corresponding with her! Tara is a talented florist with a very keen artistic eye. It doesn't get better; and I loved working with her every step of the way! read more

We worked with Tara to create the floral arrangements for our wedding. She was on a list of venue-approved florists, and I scheduled a phone meeting with her and two other florists from the list. Here's where other florists failed and where Tara excelled: Knowledge: She was the only one who sounded like she knew what she was doing. She really understood the space and could offer me specific advice as what might look best. Tara is also just really charming and lovely. She strikes a great balance between artist and business person, and based on my discussions with other florists, it seems that can be hard to do. Attitude: She listened, intuited what I was looking for, gently made suggestions and recommendations so as not to invoke Bridezilla, and respected our overall feeling re: the aesthetic. Other florists made it clear that they wanted to do what they wanted to do and would "yes" me, but then go on to describe what they normally do or what they like to do. Tara is the only one who internalized OUR vision & delivered on that. Customer Service: With other florists, calls were not returned, proposals were not sent, and it took weeks to get anything in writing from them. Hello? I'm trying to give you many thousands (gulp) of dollars. Act like you care. Tara sent me a neat, clean, concise, and professional proposal by e-mail very shortly after having talked to her. Prices were fair and well-explained and broken down into ceremony flowers, reception flowers, etc. so we could easily trim costs if we needed to. Delivery: Our flowers were there and ready to go. I never had to worry about Tara's competence and that was a great stress-alleviator on our big day. Everything was exactly right and represented what we had discussed. Overall, excellent experience with Barbara's Flowers. read more

I'm deeply thankful to the kind folks at Barbara's for helping me decide on a beautiful flower arrangement in a matter of minutes over the phone. I called Barbara's Flowers to create a Juneteenth arrangement for my sweet, strong, amazing and courageous friend to celebrate her and the queen that she is. Her day started out so low. Due to the Coronavirus, I couldn't just run over to the Bronx and give her all the hugs she needed today like I would've wanted to. But her whole experience from this delivery picked her right back up! The gentleman that took my order over the phone was excellent and everyone at Barbara's Flowers got this just right! Nailed it! Beautiful colors. Gorgeous, fresh flowers. Unique arrangement and also at an EXCELLENT value--not stuffed with filler, etc. but with design and intent. She said even that 'the lovely man who delivered them gave me a very jubilant "Happy Juneteenth" as he handed them to me!!!'. The arrangement was STUNNING and far exceeded my expectations. I tried to thank them on the phone, but got choked up because of how they helped turn things around for a very special person on a day that began in the dumps. And because they have another location in Brooklyn, they have all of my bases covered for personal and business needs! I have lived in New York for 17 years and have used many florists, but I didn't find THE florist until today. Thank you again!!!! read more

How great is Barbara's Flowers? I've been a member of Yelp since 2008 and am writing my first review because they're so good I feel like I have to. I purchased a dozen long stem roses from Barbara's Flowers. Honestly, this bouquet was one of the most beautiful bouquets I've ever bought for my wife. And they didn't price gouge me like the two other florist that I went to try to do. I paid 75 dollars at Barbara's and the other florist was charging me 125 dollars. Barbara's is fantastic! I was heading up to my girlfriend's place one day and decided to get her flowers. I called them about 15 minutes ahead of time and they created a perfect spring bouquet that my girlfriend adored. And the price was unreal... other shops in manhattan would cost double or triple what Barbara charged. As this shop is perfectly placed right between my place and my GFs, I will be returning quite a bit in the future. A solid go to for all things floral. read more

We frequent Barbara's for floral arrangements for our apartment and they are always the most beautiful fresh creative designs. I have always found everyone in the shop to be friendly, helpful and just overall masters of their craft and able to create any arrangement that we can imagine. I have to reiterate that the flowers are always fresh and last at very least 8 days when I get them from here. It absolutely doesn't hurt that everyone in there is pleasant and professional. Absolutely will remain our go-to in the neighborhood and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a florist they want to build a lasting relationship with. read more

I've used them since they opened in 2005 when Tara's mother, Barbara was still with us. Did you know that she was a heart patient of Dr. Oz? Anyway, they are a friendly family, "feel good" business who put service and relationships first. This is important to me because I'm a community advocate as well as a business woman. I send everyone I know there! I stop by for a neighborhood chat every now and then. When my Aunt died in 2009 they did a Superb job with the flowers that Butler Cemetery asked me to leave the flowers. You can describe the likes and colors of a person and they can create a floral design that the person will love! I give my real estate clients closing floral gifts from Barbara Flowers and Anniversary time I buy my husband his piece and my husband comes in and buys my piece and they know exactly what to do so that our bouquet blends! I got married almost 2 years ago and unfortunately made the mistake of hiring a terrible wedding planner that left everything to the last minute.
