The food was incredibly good. My husband is from Mexico and he said it's the best taqueria food he's ever had. And he lived in LA for 20 years. Customer service is a zero, food is a 3. The first visit a few days ago went okay. Came in and stood around a few minutes and no one acknowledged me so I stopped a lady and asked how to order, she took my order, a chicken burrito plate, 4 barbacoa tacos and 4 bean and cheese. The chicken burrito was soggy bland and falling apart. The rice and beans were good. The barbacoa was ok. And the bean and cheese were great. My family loved the tortillas and beans. I spent $32. Not too bad for the amount of food even if it wasn't all that great. Went back just for bean and cheese tacos today and also ordered a carne asada plate. The cashier says my total is $37 which completely shocked me for ONE plate that was $14 and 6 bean and cheese tacos. This time they charged me $3 instead of $2 for each taco and when I asked why the price was different just a few days ago the cashier just got an attitude and said "we made you something not even on the menu" (referring to the BEAN AND CHEESE tacos) and said that she "didn't see me there on Thursday" insinuating that I was lying. I would have just left but my family was hungry and had been waiting (in the car due to COVID Restrictions) 25 minutes already so I paid and took the food. I wish I would have just left. The bean and cheese tacos were sad & cold, the cheese wasn't even melted a little bit and it all fell out of the tortilla in one cold clump. The carne asada was dry the beans and rice on the side were good again but that's all the good I can say. We tossed everything and went to Jack in the box. Huge waste of money. read more

The food is really good tasty the barbacoa but it comes out kinda cold and so does the consomé and the coffee the meat a little chewy and after it gives you a major stomach ache I ate there and then my stomach started to hurt and lasted the whole day don't recommend eating here read more

This place gets crazy packed on Sunday mornings and afternoons. The restaurant has no formal system to get a table once you find a parking spot in their small lot or risk getting towed at the gas station next door. The Barbacoa is the star of the place and the main reason why I keep coming back to this hectic place but it's definitely worth it. The meat is so tender and has a unique taste that can only be found in Mexico. The corn tortillas are hand made in house which elevates the dining experience to a whole other level. The service is not all that great but it's not for lack of effort on the staff's part especially since there is so many people trying to all rush in at one time to get table. One waitress has a section of 10 tables with one bus boy for the whole place. I would recommend sitting near the front to avoid getting forgotten in the crowd. The atmosphere reminds me of little restaurants I been to in Mexico, loud music, a lot of conversation, flimsy tables with worn seats crammed together leaving no elbow room. Unless you're use to that sort of thing you might not want to come here and just call your order your order to go. Over all the food is great which is why this small place gets packed every weekend. If only they had more space and structure this could easily be one of the best spots for authentic style Barbacoa in Dallas but with a venue that fails to even meet the lowest of standards it will remain as hidden gem on the city limits. read more

Couldn't give this place 5 stars. The rating is based off the food, not the service. I give the service a 5/5. Barbacoa was not as good as i was expecting it to be. Looked too dry. Usually barbacoa plate would come with some of the fat. The rice and beans were just as simple as any Mexican restaurant. Would I visit this place again? Possibly but my first time here gave me a not so good taste on the food. I hope to expect better on the rest of the menu maybe in the future. read more

I know they have a location closer to Downtown Dallas, and that is how some friends found it, but then they learned that the Barbacoa wasn't prepared in this location, but sent to them from the 175 location, that is where the barbacoa is prepared. One time friends took me there, and they already knew the drill of parking, waiting, service, but that all of it will be worth it. This is sheep barbacoa, because in some places in Mexico, specially in the north, cow is used for the barbacoa, but this is sheep barbacoa. Sunday mornings before 10am, is the best recommended hour to go and eat, because barbacoa is fresh made and consome is fresh made, but you can go later, just remember why the earlier the better. Parking is full, all the time is full, so what we did while finding a spot to park, is that one of use went and signed on the waiting list, there is no fancy waiting area because the place is packed, so waiting is outside the restaurant, once in, they took us to our table, and put a number on the table, the number was 92, the display on the wall showed number 75, and yes, nobody paid attention to us, until 92 was displayed, but numbers go up fast, it was maybe a 5 to 10 mins waiting. There are several items in the menu, but going through the distance, parking, and waiting, for huevos con chorizo, I don't think is worth it. So we order Barbacoa, by the pound, it comes out real quick, it is served on a steamer, so it keeps hot, hand made tortillas, really good salsas, onion, cilantro, a cup of consome per guest, and a totally mexican experience is what makes this place very special. As I said Sunday mornings is usually Barbacoa day in Mexico, so going on Sunday is the day to go, it needs some sacrifices, but is worth it, and we kept coming back read more

The only reason why this joint is not getting 5 stars is because of the facilities, but more on that later. To find really good Barbacoa in the DFW has proven to be very challenging, this place however, offers very flavorful and tender meat, served in a chafing dish to keep it warm, now, good Barbacoa has to be always accompanied by a good conzome (which is the broth made during the cooking process) and in this case it was also very good, an excellent touch was the hand made corn tortillas, and really good red and green salsas, it also comes with cilantro, onions and limes on the side. Order by the pound at $15/lb. We went on a Sunday around noon, the place was packed and as eager to try as I was I thought that we would have to wait, but no, you seat yourself at any available table then just wait for service which in this case was almost immediate, we had everything at our table within 10 minutes, we really enjoyed the meal. At the end of the meal my kids wanted to use the restroom, and not that it was dirty but in very poor condition, that would by my only complaint, other than that if you are looking for great tasting real Barbacoa this joint would be a great choice. The barbacoa here is the star (or 5 stars), because it isn't the atmosphere (except for weekend days when it's a party until the barbacoa runs out). It is estilo Hidalgo, which is a lamb barbacoa, cooked in a pit with smoked agave. The resulting meat and consomé has a deep, slightly Tequila-esque flavor that reveals itself in waves of meaty, smoky, umami. You can get tacos or share a half or whole pound with the table. But don't skip the consomé, whatever you do. A broth from the barbacoa comes with garbanzos and is an integral part of the experience. Basic aguas frescas, beers are offered. Again, it gets packed, so go early on weekends because the barbacoa does run out. If you are not Mexican, you may be the only not Mexican there, which speaks to what a treat this regional delicacy really is. Don't take anyone that thinks it's not Mexican food if a place doesn't have Tex-Mex combo plates. Those have their place, but this ain't it. read more

I went to this place with my family it took 10 minutes for someone to take my order husband ordered 6 tacos ($2 per taco) they are ok. I ordered a chicken quesadilla from the kid meal ($5.99) for my 3 year old they added pico de Gallo on the side, it was super hot she could not eat it even the avocado that was laying on top of the pico de Gallo was spice I ate a piece and it was hot, and I love spicy food. I ordered half a chicken ($10) I asked what it came with and the girl said "everything I guess" so I said ok I should of known. I took them about half a hour to give us our food the quesadilla was the last to come. The half a chicken was not good too dry and no salt on it so I only had half a breast, so I asked for a togo box figured I will make the chicken into flautas or something to give it flavor and packed the whole quesadilla as well. When I went to pay the lady said $44 I said why so much it should of been about $30. They said the girl gave me 1 full chicken (only chicken and tortillas no rice or beans) but that's not what I asked for, they said well you took it so I said well you can have it back I didn't eat it or the quesadilla so they took all of the food I had in the togo box and charged me for half a chicken and the 6 tacos still paid $27. The only thing good at that place are the tortillas. Don't go here food is not all that and they are rude. The waitresses didn't even know what they were doing or which table was theirs!!! She took our order wrong and then charged us for extra things we did not ask for!!! They were so disorganized!
