Mistake one was getting rid of the usual bar staff when they switched over to "Baramor". I return to places often because I get to know the people who work there. The new owner/manager (whatever he is) is rude and disrespectful. Also it's just painfully obvious they're trying too hard. Who is going to pay prices on par with much nicer places close by like Comedor or sycamore? Not me. If I want a pub in the area from now on I am headed to Union. Looking forward to what Baramor becomes eventually (aka a new business). Nice try, next. read more

The place speaks for itself. The food is great and the staff is friendly. The beers are quality and they always have a beer which part of your bill goes to a certain charity. I think this place is a little hidden gem. Thank you to shawn, nick, remy, and calvin. Will always be back. read more

Baramor's food is consistently excellent. We frequently order takeout, usually the Brussel sprouts and the wild rice/tofu bowl. We have also tried the steak and cheese sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich. All four are delicious. In addition, Baramor is the ONLY restaurant that uses paper and aluminum containers for ALL of its takeout. Most restaurants are still using the non-recyclable black plastic containers. Thank you! read more

Wow, that wasn't good. The server was nice, but the food was subpar... and costs double what I would expect it to

Went here with a friend for lunch. Was a little upset with service. My friend ordered the Less Burger but got the Mor Burger. I flagged down the waitress and I explained my friend got the wrong burger. My friend made a gesture it was 'fine' cuz she doesn't like confrontation and I told her she didn't have to eat something she didn't order. What upset me was that the waitress ran off. Not a word from her. Not a 'sorry, can we fix this?' Nothing. She didn't seem interested in being there. My friend ended up having one bite and left the rest cuz she said it was overcooked and the spices they put on it was weird tasting. Got the short rib sandwich and thought they skimped on the short rib for the price. And I may be picky but it was a super hot day and we were sitting outside and got water with no ice. Can't say we'll be returning. Terrible service with this one particular person and food was 'meh'. read more

Lunch on 8/20/21: The worst chicken wings I have ever eaten in my life, and that's saying a mouthful. Old freezer-burned meat fried in oil which hasn't been changed since 2017. Just don't. read more

Phenomenal food! We've collectively had the chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken wings, flatbreads, truffle/parm fries, cauliflower app, Brussels sprouts app, and the tofu bowl (personal favorite). Everything has been excellent over several different trips. Cocktails had also been delicious. This place has quickly become a family favorite. read more

Wow, you would expect one thing to be good! No good food or service. How can you go wrong with French fries, they must have fried them a night before! They used squeeze cheese on nachos! I would not expect that even from a fast food place. And the service! Everything was delayed even the drinks, the owner's response was rude. The only good thing about this place is the location. I want to support the local businesses, but do not think I will go back until they change their attitude and the cook! read more

Not up to their regular standards tonight, unfortunately. Pick up order was about 20 minutes late, after ordering two days in advance to beat the Super Bowl rush and make sure my wife got her birthday meal on time. (The fact that there was no apology for delay from either bartender handling the order or the manager that handed me the bag, didn't help things). Food also a bit disappointing; wings were a bit dry, and no blue cheese with wings or boneless wings. Kids pasta with butter comes without parmesan cheese (and still no veggies on side), and the sangria, which we usually LOVE seemed different (bitter?). Will definitely be back, but hoping thing are better and this is just a one off, not about a general lowering of quality. read more

This place is amazing! Under new ownership, the food, tap list, and overall atmosphere seems refreshed. We split the poutine which was great and I had the philly cheesesteak. It stacks up against any I've had in Philadelphia! Staff is very friendly too which is a plus. 10/10 I will keep coming back. read more

Baramor is my new go to place. They did an amazing job transforming this pub into an amazing experience. A+ food, drinks, staff, atmosphere, location in Newton Centre, and entertainment - what else could there be? I love the new, full transformation and I couldn't be any happier. Love it!!! read more

My girlfriend and I went in here for an early dinner and we asked if we could sit at the bar and were told of course and so we sat at the bar. No one seemed to be working at the bar but staff walked by us many times. Finally someone came up to us and said they were sorry but could we come through the restaurant and sit at the other bar.. We gathered our things and moved through the restaurant to the other bar at what we were told was the front of the place. The bartender was nice and polite and served us our wine. We both ordered salmon and salad-mine w green salad and hers with Kale salad. When they brought the meals the salmon looked not quite right on both dishes. My friend's salmon was covered entirely in a layer of the brown flesh that I've never seen served in a restaurant before. My piece was all broken up and looked greasy and not very appetizing. The greens were also half rotten and slimy. I took a few bites but it was fatty and had pieces of skin all over it and the texture was too soft and it tasted really off. I realized it was not safe to eat and pushed the bowl aside. I told the bartender and she took it away and it was taken off the bill. They did not offer to replace it and the excuse I was given for serving rotten food like that was that the restaurant was quite new. My girlfriend scraped all the brown stuff off and tried to eat hers. Her kale was at least not rotten. She ate some of the salmon. We did not fault the bartender and actually tipped her quit well but the fact that the chef would serve terrible and expensive food like that was pretty shocking. And no manager even came over to speak to us. We left and went to pot homes where both of us proceeded to be sick. I was only mildly sick but it was still unpleasant and infuriating to be fed rotten fish which potentially could be dangerous for my health. My girlfriend, who ate much more of hers, was sick for hours. Both of us felt ill and nauseous for half of the next day as well. The worst part is that I called the restaurant to let them know I order to save anyone else from eating the tainted salmon and getting sick and they hostess took my phone number and told me thank you and that one of the owners would call me the next day. No one called me!! I was shocked and angry to be treated so poorly and it spoke quite clearly as to the lack of consideration and care that the owners feel for their customers. I won't be going back and I will be quite sure to let people know that it is not a safe environment to eat at as well. It's sad to be so disappointed but the reality is that it's clear that this restaurant won't last long unless they choose to begin to maintain a safe and high standard for the food they serve people so they don't poison them and to also have a commitment to customer service they at the very least extends to apologizing personally for poisoning people. Beware!!!! read more

Food very average and overpriced. Server was rude, aggressive and inattentive and when we brought an issue about his error to his attention he was dramatic and passive aggressive and I apologetic. Had to search for him to find the bill and then gave attitude. Not great overall experience won't go back. read more

The beer selection was nice, and the service was good. It was the food that was just soooo disappointing. Poutine should have a brown gravy - beef or mushroom - not a tomato-based vodka sauce with notes of whole-grain mustard. It was gross. As was the baked burrata. Burrata is so good cold, why melt it down to a puddle of white, swimming in a spicy tomato sauce? And the meat plate. No-one ever said, "what I really need is bacon jam". Well, I suppose the chef here, did, but we didn't appreciate sickly sweet play on a salty good classic. This was our first trip to Baramor, and will sadly be our last. read more

Baramor is a HUGE upgrade to Newton Center. The renovation is excellent and the food is even better! We had a wonderful Saturday dinner with our three kids. The drinks are delicious and the food is even better. I had the Kale salad and it was perfect. The onion rings were a hit at the table. Our service was very good and we are excited to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood. read more

This restaurant is doing it better than any other restaurant in the area! Perfect location! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! What we all need on a nice summer day. When it's too cool or too hot there is great indoor seating too, lots of windows for fresh air. Highly recommend this new restaurant! Oh, did I mention the great food? You must try it! read more

Great local spot with fabulous food and friendly staff who knows how to make a great Martini!

I was here with some friends last night and we had a great time. The food is fantastic and they make the best old fashions I've ever had. The bar tender was even nice enough to show us how she makes them. I'm actually writing this review because I screwed up the tip. I was pretty tipsy by the time we left and I accidentally tipped half of what I meant to. I hope you guys read this because I feel really bad about it. I promise I'll make up for it next time. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place, its worth checking out. read more

Thought we'd try out this new place and were happy we stopped by. Nice style, nice atmosphere, friendly bartender, and the drinks were superb. Recommended. read more

Went to this spot for dinner with my family tonight. Haven't been since it changed ownership, but we left satisfied as any other time. The food was extremely good but I can't talk more highly about the service. Nick was a one man show and he absolutely killed it. He is a good representative of this spot and his service should be acknowledged. I bartended for a long time in high volume places around the city and I would pray for a guy like this to be on my team. Finding quality people is not easy in this industry so I hope you management takes notice- he's not just a bartender, def more in the cards for that guy. read more

I visited this bar when they first opened and was impressed with the service, food and great adult beverages. Honestly, this time I was walking down the street, coming from an Italian restaurant down the street, and just walked in for a night cap. I ended up getting 3 - two of which (yes I got 2) were the best Negroni's I've had in a while. It was better than the one I'd just gotten at the restaurant down the street (not going to name them, they are awesome, but the Negroni wasn't up to snuff). They have Karaoke her on Thursdays. And great cheese plates. Bar tender (sorry, I can't remember his name, it was pretty late) was awesome. I have to come here more often! read more

We loved this great neighborhood bar! The owners are invested in their community and have dedicated a beer tap to "Pull for a Cause", donating to local charities. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is....! read more

A friend and I stopped into Baramor after reading about their grand re-opening in the paper. I was impressed with the revamped menu and commitment to charity so we had to check it out! We went in for dinner and, while the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly. We decided to take the recommendation of our server and order the cheese board which paired well with our glasses of Malbec. For dinner, I ordered the burger, which was a perfectly cooked medium rare, and my friend ordered the Super Salmon (After just completing a month of Whole30, she loved the clean eating options!). Overall our service was quick and our server knew the menu well and was able to offer us recommendations, especially in the case of my friend's dietary limitations. The new vibe is refreshing and we would definitely come back! read more

We are so excited that Baramor moved into the neighborhood! It is exactly the type of place we have been looking for in Newton Centre! We have already been 5 times (and several times with our kids) since they opened 2 months ago! This cozy gastropub has delicious food (the bam bam cauliflower is my favorite), a solid kids' menu, a nice variety of local beers, and a wonderful, friendly staff. They also have a dedicated "pull for charity" beer where they donate funds to a different local charity every month. It is awesome to see a business that really cares about supporting and investing in our community. read more

Baramor is a great new place to eat in Newton Centre. I took our family of 5 to Baramor this past Saturday night, and everyone loved it. The kids even asked if we could go back again. We are a local Newton Centre family, and it was our first time going to Baramor since the location had turned over from the Irish Pub (O'Reillys) that had previously occupied the space. In short, everything is different. They have a full cocktail menu, and I had one of their special tequila drinks which was fantastic. The food menu is impressive, and I had a shrimp po boy which was very good. The kids all had burgers which they liked, and the french fries got very high ratings from everyone. Our service was great, and the entire restaurant had a really great vibe. Baramor is a legitimate place to get good food in Newton Centre, or even just stop in for a cocktail. A big step up for this great location right off the T stop. read more

I had a great time here. I was planning to meet a friend at a different place in Newton Centre, but we decided to try something new. I'm glad we did. As soon as we walked in, the waiter and bartender welcomed us and, since we just wanted drinks and an app, directed us to a table in the bar area. I knew what I wanted to drink (a decent bourbon) but my friend had many questions about the beers. The waiter was very knowledgeable and patient, but it would help to have a written description of the beers since we didn't recognize many. Ultimately, the waiter's suggestion was excellent and we ended up getting a few drinks and the loaded nachos. I accidental insulted them by asking while ordering if the "nacho cheese sauce" was really cheese-like yellow/orange sauce. My mistake; turns out they make it in-house and it was different and delicious. (Sorry chef.) My friend ended up getting a chicken sandwich as well which he said was very good, but since I didn't try it, I can't review it. It looked great, and I'm planning on going back to try it. read more
