Baraka Gems is an absolute gem of a store. I've had jewelry repaired/ resized their twice and each time has been excellent. The friendly, kind and professional staff was able to quickly evaluate what needed to be done and made repairs or suggestions for next steps. I recommend them without hesitation. read more

I needed to get my wife's wedding ring cleaned and polished, and Baraka did an amazing job, it looks stunning, night and day from before. They were professional, friendly and responsive throughout the process as well, I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Had a great experience at Baraka! We worked with Jamie who was very professional and patient. Jamie guided us seamlessly through the process, always knew next steps, and communicated regularly. We had a fairly custom ring so their experience and knowledge in the space (where to find the gems, who to call for a custom fit) came through. Will definitely go back if we need to! read more

So unfriendly. I live in the neighborhood and I love jewelry, and purchase a lot of jewelry. Everytime I go to this store, I am treated as if I don't belong and they don't want me there. Such a shame. I won't ever step foot in there again. And they won't ever get my business. read more

We had a bit of a crunch - family trip to Mexico with a proposal in the mix in just a couple of weeks - and Jamie with Baraka came through, accommodating our timeframe and presenting all of the options and price points. Consummate professionals - never condescending, but not blowing smoke or trying to push product. The ring was ready within our timeframe and exceeded our expectations. They also donate at least 10% to mentor children in need. Truly good people. We'll update with the proposal response. :) read more

So glad to establish a relationship with Jamie and team at Baraka! I'm thrilled with the service and look forward to working with them in the future. It is a "gem" of a business! Definitely recommend! read more

I couldn't have found a better place to have some jewelry evaluated. Jamie is knowledgeable, friendly, open and honest, and passionate about what he does. I trusted him immediately, and he was completely transparent about everything he did. Deciding what to do with family jewelry isn't easy--but he was so clear about everything that it was easy to choose what I wanted to keep and what I was willing to let go of. I learned something about what makes a piece of jewelry valuable, or not. He made something that might have been stressful, or just a matter-of-fact business transaction, pleasant and interesting. I feel lucky that I found the store. read more

My fiance and I worked with Baraka Gems to design and create a custom engagement ring. From the very beginning, the service at Baraka was exactly what we were looking for; personal, non-pushy, knowledgeable, and flexible to our schedules, budget and ideas. We knew that we wanted to incorporate heirloom family diamonds into the ring, but didn't know where to start. We worked with Taylor, the Lead Designer at Baraka, who listened closely to us, asking pointed questions and offering suggestions. She then hand drew designs based on those conversations, bringing our ideas to light. Taylor worked with us remotely and in-person in the store over the course of several months while we narrowed down our choices. She was incredibly patient, and answered all of our questions without making us feel silly or rushed. The folks at Baraka are realistic about the complexities surrounding the gemstone industry. Taylor respected our wishes for a lab-created center stone and never pushed mined options. It was meaningful to us when selecting which jeweler to work with, that Baraka Gems donates a portion of all sales to their non-profit, A Ring of Hope. The whole process ended up feeling collaborative, supportive, and easy. My ring suits me more than I could ever have imagined at the outset of this process. I love it and wouldn't change a thing. I highly recommend Baraka Gems! read more

I came to Baraka Gems because a client of mine referred me. The store is stunning. The customer service is excellent. This was my first experience working with a diamond, and Jamie made the whole experience so wonderful. He is patient, knowledgeable and gave me so much information and confidence resetting my diamond. Also Miriam was quick to respond with any of my questions. I highly recommend this team. Thank you so much for making my dreams come true. read more

Baraka Gems is a beautiful local store, staffed by lovely people. The second I entered I fell in love with Taylor (a super helpful member of their team). She was informative and enthusiastic. Unlike other jewelry stores I visited while shopping for a ring, Baraka's approach was never pushy. Shopping there was relaxing. They give a portion of their sale to communities negatively affected by gemstone mining. Just another beautiful thing about this store. Dont bother going anywhere else! read more

Wonderful experience with Baraka. We contacted Jamie to request a quote for a custom engagement ring after one of our good friends had her engagement ring created at Baraka. We were blown away by the ease of the entire process. Jamie was quick to respond to emails (we are out of state currently) and had many helpful tips along the way. The ring turned out absolutely perfect - it was exactly what my girlfriend envisioned. I wouldn't hesitate to go here again for any of my jeweler needs - highly recommended. read more

I am very impressed with Jaime and the staff here, plus the new location is gorgeous! My engagement ring needed resizing. Making an appointment online was super easy and Jaime was very responsive. Even as my paperwork was processing the other staff chatted with me when they weren't helping others. So friendly and professional, they even gave me a free polishing rag when I asked about ring care. I would 100% recommend them! read more

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my Fiancée and I'm amazed at how seamless the process was with Jamie at Baraka Jewelers. I emailed and got lucky with a consultation next morning and was able to talk with Jamie about which models I liked online and explaining my girlfriend's style/taste and together we worked out a beautiful ring.... But as we discussed these options I spotted a beautiful Montana Sapphire that had me in a pickle between going custom or picking a stone that fit the ring models I loved. Jamie walked me through the process and costs of going the modified route and was very reasonable with his pricing. Throughout the process of getting the ring designed/modified he kept in touch with updates and renderings of the ring computer CAD model, which kept me updated real-time about design modifications and so-on. Being in the design field myself, I really respected his/his team's commitment to his clients with open and timely communication. My Fiancée absolutely loves the ring, and that's what this whole journey was about. Thanks for making it a painless process, Jamie. read more

I stopped by baraka gems during a local art walk just to take a look. As someone without any prior knowledge or experience of gems or jewelry, I found the collection here pretty fascinating. The people working here were all super nice. Jamie is a friendly guy who took time to explain the craft and history of some of their pieces from the early 20th century. Really cool stuff! I always love learning about where things come from and how they are made, and Jamie was knowledgeable and eager to talk about the collection. I really appreciated that they took the time even though I wasn't interested in buying anything that day. Knowing more about the jewelry gave me a newfound appreciation, and I ended up coming back to purchase a beautiful little deco-era ring for my partner's birthday. 100% recommend this shop to anyone looking for a unique gift or even if you just want to learn more about these shiny works of art! read more

I hadn't planned to buy a thing on my first visit to Baraka but couldn't resist the allure of a stunning, hand-forged necklace. The store is small in size, easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but worth the search. On the day we visited Jamie was working on a photography shoot for the Baraka website but was quick to stop and chat and answer our questions. He gives at least 10% of sales to support orphans in Africa, which makes me feel even better about spending my money here. There are pieces made in all the precious metals, some with semi-precious and precious stones. He does custom work and repairs, which is definitely hard to find. I can't wait to save my pennies and return for another Baraka original. read more

We had a great experience with Jamie! My fiancé purchased an engagement ring from Brilliant Earth, and the stones kept getting loose in the setting - even got to the point (after 2 repairs with BE) that we lost one of the smaller diamonds! We decided to go with Baraka for a new repair based on the amazing reviews, and we weren't disappointed by any means. Jamie was quick to see us, gave us great advice, and had a reasonable quote to replace the band and add more prongs to the setting. We got the ring back and it looks better than it did originally but is still true to the design that my partner and I loved. We'll be getting our wedding bands done with Jamie based on our experience! Highly recommend working with him and the team at Baraka. read more

Three years after my now husband proposed with a customized engagement ring designed in Brooklyn, I finally decided to do something about resizing my ring. It was too tight, and I remember feeling afraid that whatever jeweler I entrusted it with would somehow damage it. After all, it's the most expensive item I have ever had to call entirely my own, and I wanted it to last. Finally, I couldn't take it with this sweltering summer heat, which made the ring give my finger a muffin top-like effect. I found Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry on Yelp and after reading about the positive customer service people experienced, I took a chance. And I was glad I did. Jamie emailed me back within the hour, and he scheduled me in later that week. Upon arriving, Taylor assisted me and proved to be highly professional. She is sweet and very good at what she does, helping me make decisions step by step and not rushing me into anything. She said the ring resizing should take 1-2 weeks. The turnaround time was a week, and the ring fits perfectly! They also cleaned my wedding band along with my engagement ring for free, which both look incredibly shiny. I was almost blinded by how brilliantly they shone. I highly recommend Baraka because of their professionalism, mission to give back and customer service. I will be returning with future fine jewelry needs. read more

Shane and Jamie helped me and my husband find my dream engagement ring. They were very informative and we left learning a lot about diamonds. They ordered various center stones that we liked and we tried the stones in my ring setting before we went ahead and made the purchase which was nice. They also helped us in appraisal of the ring. Overall we had good experience and I highly recommend anyone who is in the market for engagement ring or wedding bands. read more

I had some loose diamonds that I needed to have made into studs. I called several jewelers to get a quote, but ultimately ended up choosing Baraka because Jamie was so incredibly helpful over the phone. He carefully explained all of my options and provided me with a very fair quote. In fact, the price of the service ended up being lower when I picked up my jewelry. But the best part was that my earrings look fantastic. I am so happy to wear them and look forward to doing business with Jaime and Baraka in the future. read more

Jaime is very friendly, straightforward and knowledgeable. I was paid a fair price for my diamond and gold in a quick and easy transaction. I would highly recommend this trustworthy jeweler :) read more

I am beyond ecstatic with the final product, but I also want to describe what a treat it was to engage with them throughout the jewelry design process. Taylor at Baraka Gems was the best partner I could have asked for to help bring my vision to life for a custom wedding ring. She spent countless hours over many visits to help refine my wild ideas and move through each stage of the process. I'm a tough client, but Taylor was an outstanding collaborator/guide/executor every step of the way. read more

My precious platinum memorial ring lost a stone (while I was in the car coming home from vacation!) - fortunately I managed to save the stone, but since it was out of warranty from the jeweler I bought the ring from and they were out of state, I had no idea who to bring it to. A few searches indicated Baraka would be the right place to go, and that was definitely a good decision. They were friendly and easy to work with, and they restored the stone to its place, checked and tightened the other stones, and got it back to me in less than a week (would have been just a few days if I hadn't been out of town over the long weekend), all for a very reasonable price. I will absolutely be taking my future repairs to them. Be aware when you go in that the front door is locked - just wave and someone will let you in. read more

Cannot say enough amazing things about Baraka Gems. Not only have I purchased an amazing, unique piece from their showroom (and plan to purchase more!), I have also worked with their talented staff to repurpose sentimental jewelry/stones that I have been moving from place to place for decades because I just couldn't part with them - and transform them into a custom piece. Taylor was able to take three different pieces which were all very outdated settings from my childhood (1980s!) including a birthstone ring and two necklaces (one of which was literally set in a fish setting because when I was 13, like many, I thought I wanted to be a marine biologist) - and transform the stones from these pieces into an extremely modern, dynamic setting for a ring which looks a bit like a constellation. It was clear on our first consult that Taylor knew exactly what type of vibe I was going for, and immediately understood my goal to breathe new life into these pieces which I am delighted to say will now be worn on the regular. The process was so creative, so professional and the results outstanding. Highly recommend if you're looking for something special with extraordinary service. A neighborhood gem to Phinney/Greenwood, but also well worth traveling to if you're not hyper-local. read more

Took my engagement ring in for an appraisal and resizing. It fits perfectly and the work is clean. The appraisal pricing was fair too. I reached out to Jamie about selling some jewelry along with a few other stores in Seattle. Jamie was quick to get back in touch and was very flexible with his time, which I appreciated since I kept rescheduling on him. By the time I had my consult, I had already gotten a few quotes and had even been berated by one of the jewelers I went to see, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! Jamie was very professional and friendly, making small talk as he cleaned my jewelry and inspected it. I was waiting for him to disparage what I had brought, which he never did. The negotiation was painless and he was very straightforward with me - I've worked in sales and didn't feel like I was being "swindled" or anything like that. Best of all, I left with a check in hand ready to be deposited in the bank :) TLDR: Highly recommend Baraka Gemstones for anyone looking to sell jewelry! read more

My engagement ring had a loose stone and also needed resizing. I called to book an appointment (Covid policy) and got a quote over the phone of what to expect the range of the cost to be. They looked at the ring and made it really clear what work might be required to fix the loose stone. The final cost ended up coming in UNDER the quoted price, because some possible work wasn't needed! And my engagement now fits beautifully. An honest and reliable jewelry store with a kind and helpful staff - would recommend for any repair work you need! read more

A few weeks ago I bumped my ring on the top edge of my mailbox at just the right angle to cause the stone to fall out of the setting! Luckily, I was able to recover the gem and set up a quick appointment with Baraka. The repair estimate was reasonable, and ultimately ended up costing less than what was quoted initially by phone. The owner Jamie and staff are friendly and personable. The ring looked perfect at pick-up and was shining as brilliantly as the day of my engagement. Thank you! read more

I utilized Baraka for a jewelry appraisal as I was working to obtain a new insurance policy. I felt the cost of the appraisal was reasonable given the high quality of their services and the fact that I felt very comfortable leaving a family heirloom in their possession. After performing the appraisal, they informed me the stones in my jewelry were loose and fixed the issue and thoroughly cleaned the piece for a reasonable price. On top of all of this, their new showroom in Greenwood is beautiful. I look forward to doing some jewelry shopping in the future. read more

I just returned from picking up my rings from Baraka Gems and I couldn't wait to sing their praises! This is a tale of two rings and a desire to have something very wearable to honor my recently passed mother and my grandmother. Baraka not only showed respect toe and reverence for the project, but they were so kind, creative, and reasonable in the price as well. The original ring was a 70s era cocktail ring which I'd already started dismantling over the past 20 years since my mom gave it to me. The other ring is a 90 year old wedding band that belonged to my Nana which my mom wore daily until she died. The end result are two new rings and a sized old ring which I can wear in a variety of different ways. From the first appointment, to the CAD design, to picking up the rings, Jamie and Taylor both were so wonderful to work with. I heartily recommend them for Amy jewelry needs! Thank you, Baraka, and Blessings to you all for delivering my vision before the 2 year anniversary of my mom's death, you guys are astounding! read more

Awesome local shop. Jaime is super knowledgeable and can source almost anything. We got our wedding bands with him and are super pleased.

Great place for custom jewelry, estate jewelry or repairs! I experienced great customer service here and would return for any jewelry needs.

My fiance recently proposed with a family heirloom ring. I took it and another family ring I already owned for sizing, cleaning, etc. Both rings had a lot of sentimental value and I was nervous about handing them over to anyone to make any changes. After reading reviews, I chose Baraka Gemstones. Jamie was amazing. I ended up only leaving my family ring for sizing as the engagement ring fit was fine. Even then, Jamie cleaned and shined my engagement ring for free, examined it for any potential issues (due to age), and gave me facts about the cut and age based on his own extensive knowledge. And this was the ring I DIDN'T leave for changes! I got my other ring back fitted perfectly and looking gorgeous. I recently had the engagement ring rhodium dipped, and this was handled professionally and perfectly. What I'm saying is, Baraka is officially my go to jeweler for anything I need. Their prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
