In a world of over commercialized jewellary shopping experiences, my partner and I were looking for a more intimate experience. Baraka ticked all our boxes and more. The place had a serene ambiance, the people were very personable, patient, and knowledgeable and we loved that a portion of the money is donated for real causes. The options for sustainable stones was also quite intriguing. Ashlen was absolutely the best when it came to our whole shopping experience! Highly recommend for anybody looking for a more intimate, reflective, and meaningful jewel search!! :) read more

I wound up with some estate jewelry and I didn't know whether it was costume or real and needed help. I called Jamie and scheduled an appointment and was happy to receive kind, patient, detailed assistance assessing the jewelry, and selling that which I didn't want. He even suggested a place to sell the costume jewelry if I was interested. I would gladly go back if I had more jewelry to assess or sell. read more

Baraka Gems offers a beautiful and serene setting to purchase new jewelry or reset your own cherished pieces. I first met with the owner, Jaime, to explore selling some gold. Later, I had the pleasure of working with Ashlen, who helped my daughter and me resize a necklace and to select a chain for another gem that they reset for me. Everything is handled by appointment, making the experience feel calm and personalized. The pricing is also very reasonable. Highly recommend! read more

Baraka Gems - Resized ring - Jewelry Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I had a really lovely experience at Baraka. After getting divorced, I decided to pass on some of the jewelry that my ex-husband had given me to my daughter. However, I didn't know much about the pieces and wanted to learn more, so I could tell her what I was passing along to her. I made an appointment with Jamie so that he could take a look and give me a little information about the jewelry--what was diamond, what kind of metal was used, when the stone in an heirloom ring had been mined, etc. You can tell that Jamie truly loves his work and knows so much about jewelry. I know very little about it and learned a lot even during our short appointment. Having had such a great experience for this small interaction, I am 100% looking forward to going the next time I am interested in buying or selling a larger piece. I also loved looking around the store! In addition to the beautiful jewelry, they've created a really friendly, comfortable atmosphere. read more

My mother recently gave me one of her bracelets. It was too small to clasp around my wrist. I looked for jewelers in my neighborhood and found Baraka Gems. They came up with a good solution to a difficult resizing project. The end result was exactly what I was hoping for. I also appreciate their mission of giving. I will certainly use Baraka for any jewelry needs I have in the future. read more

Working with Baraka gems was amazing! My wedding ring had a stone that was getting loose after 16 years. They were able to reset the stone and polish the ring beautifully. They also were able to take some family rings could also needed some resetting and tell me more about the history of the setting from the 1920's as well as fix these old rings. Their estimates were spot on. The timelines they gave me were spot on. Everyone was so professional, honest, and knowledgeable. I hesitated for a long time getting the older rings fixed and my wedding ring looked at, partly due to trepidation around costs and worries about ruining the old rings. After using Baraka gems, I will never hesitate again to have any jewelry looked at and repaired. Highly recommended read more

Baraka Gems - Polished perfect ring now! - Jewelry Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I am so impressed with Baraka! I needed to get my engagement ring fixed (broken prong, and center stone needed resetting), and I first went to another local jeweler who quoted me over $1000 and moved very quickly without explaining exactly what they were going to do. I decided not to move forward with them, and found Baraka Gems after some research. Their quote was much more fair, and Taylor was very friendly and professional as she talked me through the process and pricing. Communication was smooth, the timing worked out perfectly, and my ring now looks better than new! Their space is also really cool. The jewelry on display is unique and interesting, I loved all of it. I will definitely be back! read more

We had a custom engagement ring made at Baraka. The process was fun, easy, and we were very happy with our choice of jeweler. We worked with designer Taylor, who put us both at ease with her humor and warmth. I came in with a strong idea of what I wanted but benefitted immensely from her guidance in stone choice, design details, and durability/longevity factors. In the end, we were able to make a decision between a full custom process (design from scratch) or modification of a setting they already carry. I was impressed by how much they could change about the existing design and choosing this resulted in significant cost savings. I appreciated being offered a more affordable option that in our situation ended up being the right choice. The process start to finish took about 3 months but Baraka was very clear up front about what their capacity was at the time I contacted them. The end result was 100% worth it. read more

I had purchased estate jewelry, semi-precious stones, several lab-grown sapphires, and four high-quality moissanite at an online auction. I was interested in selling them. Jamie was professional, helpful, and in some cases, double-checked stones with an independent gemologist. Jamie was very fair with his appraisals. I sold a few pieces and decided to have one of the larger moissanite stones set. He helped me pick out a beautiful setting. The stone looks stunning, and I absolutely LOVE it! I've decided to work w/ Jamie on creating two identical custom-designed rings for two of the emerald-cut sapphires. Very ethical, friendly staff, extremely attentive, and patient. I feel good doing business with Baraka knowing, that a portion of their profits goes toward helping feed orphans in Kosele, Kenya. read more

Baraka Gems - 6.5 round solitaire mounting - Jewelry Near Me - Seattle, Washington

My partner and I could not recommend Baraka Gems enough! We went in to get my engagement ring resized and they gave us a very fair quote for the resizing as well as flagged that a few of the prongs might need to be worked on for the gems. So we signed the total quote for all the work. When we went to pick it up, they told us that all of the prongs looked good to the jeweler and they were tightened for free. They could have easily still charged us for that work since we already agreed to have it done, but they are an honest shop! Unfortunately, the ring wasn't quite the right size still (which we were told up front it might take a few tries to get it perfect since it's a really wide band) and they have it resized again for free. THANK YOU to the Baraka team! You made what could have been a stressful process, as smooth as possible. read more

My partner and I are Greenwood locals and both needed our engagement and wedding rings resized. I'm so glad that I found Baraka Gems because they were a delight to work with. Jamie worked with my to resize and restore several cherished rings I inherited from my mother. He also valued several pieces of gold and platinum which allowed my to partially cover the cost of fixing the rings. He was amazing to work with (again). I knew I was in capable and professional hands since he had already worked on my wedding rings. He was so kind and fun to work with. He listened to my comments about my jewelry with patience and attention. And in the end, delivered impeccable and stunning rings I now proudly wear. On a separate occasion I purchased a necklace from his well curated estate jewelry collection. I am in love with that necklace and wear it all the time. Whenever I think of jewelry, I immediate think of Baraka Gems and Jamie. Thank you all for running such a fantastic business. read more

We needed to repair my precious golden necklace that I wore for the last 30 years. Jamie was quick with responding unlike other shops. We plan to come back. Great service and I love my new necklace! read more

It's been about five years since I've had my wedding rings polished, so I started looking around for polishing services. I've heard of Baraka Gems as I live close to the area, so decided to reach out and get some pricing information. Claire was extremely helpful and very professional, answering all of my many questions, and setting up the appointment was quick and easy. The only hiccup was that I was quoted a certain price in email, and the person who I actually met with in person quoted at a higher rate. I was a little thrown off and disappointed, but upon reaching back out, it was confirmed that while they recently updated their pricing, they would honor the previous quote. I really appreciate their level of customer service - they certainly did not have to do that, and it made me feel like my feedback was heard and that they really cared. My rings look just as beautiful as the day I first got them, and I'd gladly return the next time I need a polishing! read more

Several prongs on my custom wedding ring appeared damaged and I wanted a reputable, independently-owned business to evaluate it. After researching area jewelers we visited Baraka, and were very impressed. They were knowledgeable and courteous and I was very comfortable having them work on the ring. When I picked it up I didn't recognize the ring at first glance! In addition to a superb repair and re sizing they had done a beautiful job of cleaning the ring. It looks new! I'm very pleased and won't hesitate to work with them again, and highly recommend them to others. read more

EXERCISE CAUTION: This business may disrespect you based on your nationality, dialect or or disability. At first I did a $1,000 in business with them. The second I engaged them for a similar sized follow up transaction they wouldn't give the time of day. There's only a few plausible explanations for why a customer in good-standing can't get 10 minutes of time to continue to enhance the profitability of the relationship. In conclusion Baraka turn away repeat customers when the customer is not to their liking insofar as the proper nationality or struggles with a disability. I tried many times in the 4 months since 2/20/2021 to get a follow up appt because this company is close to my home and I care about my neighbors and neighboring businesses health. Baraka never had availability within 48 hours for me. The first time I did business with them I successfully walked in their front door and things went fine. I walked out happy and left a 10/10 online review for them. Something changed since then. I love patronizing nearby small businesses. It's odd to have this be the only business for a 3 mile radius (at least) where I've had a very good experience at first and a NON-CUSTOMER FOCUSED APPROACH THE NEXT TIME. It's odd because the lifetime value of a customer really matters. In my years of running small businesses I've had to focus on repeat customers, I've never once seen such a situation as Baraka. The simplest explanation is fitting. read more

Jamie took a look at some Indian jewelry I had (passed down for generations) and was very knowledgable, courteous, and efficient in his assessment. I recently inherited a vintage gold tennis bracelet from my mother. She had taken out several of the links to make a pair of earring studs and a pendant. I wanted them replaced into the bracelet and the clasp needed repair. They also polished and cleaned the bracelet so when I got it back it was absolutely gorgeous and fit perfectly. They estimated two weeks but it was ready in about 3 days. I have some other inherited pieces I will take in to have repurposed and one ring to redesign. Love Baraka gems! read more

We found Baraka a few years ago when I needed a gemstone ring resized. We had remained on their mailing list, and found out they designed rings. We worked with them to design my wedding ring, and it was a truly magical experience. The process was easy, and I ended up with a truly unique ring that I will treasure forever. read more

This place is great. Make an appointment, they are super friendly. I brought in my engagement ring that the moonstone had fallen off of due to the prongs breaking. Because of the price I had paid for it and it being sterling silver they were honest with me about repair prices and informed me that it isn't easily fixable especially long term as these styles of rings generally get caught on things and damaged. Though they couldn't fix the ring it was great service and very helpful for me moving forward to find something new and more durable. read more

I can't recommend Jamie enough! We bought our wedding rings here back in February and Jamie made the whole experience painless! There was no pressure to buy, and Jamie explained the differences between metals, stones and showed us all of our options. Jamie was patience and we left feeling a lot more confident about what we wanted. Given that we were on a tight schedule before the wedding, we were interested in customizing a ring, but due to scheduling there was no time. We never felt pressured by Jamie to buy or go through with our design. Instead we opted to buy simple white gold wedding bands. We will definitely be back and highly recommend anyone looking for jewelry, wedding bands, and rings to come see Jamie. You will not be disappointed! read more

Jamie, is a jeweler with exceptional eye and integrity. We were looking for our wedding ring and he guided us patiently and in a extremely knowledgable fashion. The experience he offers is what I feel many Seattleite's want authentic, ethical, high quality, kind and really works with you to find that "unique" something. Went to many other places prior and the experience and quality were not as one on one vs one size fits all. A highly ethical store as well that has an incredible backstory to add. If you are want to leave feeling good about what your purchased and learn something about gems in the process too. We are extremely happy with the ring we went with & kindness during the entire process. This yelp review is one from the heart take note! read more
