*Sigh's* In life we all have to go through sticky situations and if they require you to have your locks changed then look no further! So I called Barak Lock & Security on a Thursday at about 7:40pm and he was finishing up a job in Santa Clarita and told me he'd be on his way as soon as he could and he arrived at around 8:25, came in and was gone by 8:45. He was funny, punctual, and most importantly very professional! Highly recommended and when I got slapped in the face by life and suddenly needed to change the locks Barak came through and when I apologized for not being able to give him a tip he turned around and THANKED ME for providing him with work and I felt even worse for not giving him a tip but i'll be recommending him for sure :) Total cost was $85 Had 2 locks replaced, but needed a ring to secure one of them further at $5 each that's $10, $20 per lock, and $45 for the service call= $95 -$10 discount=85 and he gave me not one but 3 spares for each lock, and i had two changed so thats 6 keys...FOR FREE!! Complete and total incompetence. I called Barak on a Tuesday because I needed keys cut for a motorcycle that had been bought second-hand (so no key code), and the single key had been lost. Barak sent someone named Gary who's supposed specialty was motorcycles. Gary wasn't able to immediately cut the key, and said he was having a hard time with it. So he took the glove box lock back to his shop and said he'd work on the lock box lock there and have a key made by the next day. On Wednesday Gary said he was "having a real tough time with it" and needed the time among his other jobs "to be able to concentrate." By Thursday he still couldn't do it, and said he'd come by that evening to work from the ignition again. He missed the Thursday appointment, and rescheduled for Friday morning. After 30 minutes working on it, he told me he couldn't do it and drove off in shame. He also left the glove box unlocked/open instead of returning it to the locked position he'd started from. I talked to another locksmith, who told me a) that if Gary couldn't cut a key in his shop from the lock, he shouldn't even be able to call himself a locksmith, and that b) there are 4 tumblers on the glove box lock, 5 on the fuel tank, and 8 on the ignition, so that even if he had cut the key it wouldn't have worked on the fuel tank and ignition. Someone who's working on bikes you would think would know this. I was also told that if he's that incompetent, he's likely damaged the tumblers on both the lock box lock and the ignition lock and made it extremely difficult or even impossible for a competent locksmith to cut a key. So basically, the guy wasted an entire week of his time and mine at a fool's errand, and still wasn't even able to cut a key to the lock box lock. And he may even have ended up costing me a couple hundred dollars extra in damages if I have to replace the entire ignition because of this guy's failings. I'm not sure if Gary works with/for Barack, or if the work was farmed out to him. I tried to look up Gary's number to see if he had his own business to post the negative review there if that was the case, but couldn't track his number online. Either way, Barak, it seems like you have a growing business and a lot of happy customers. If you are farming out work to this incompetent idiot, you may seriously want to rethink it. And reconsider farming out so much work in general. If he's an employee, he needs more training before he's allowed to wear the big boy pants. read more

Highly recommend him. Very personable and he his rates are below other companies. I needed someone last minute at around 7pm and he was polite enough to handle it immediately near his house. Barak IS the man! I found him on Yelp as my neighbor found herself locked out of her apartment (again). She asked to use my phonebook and I went on the Yelp app to look for someone nearby as the yellow pages don't usually say where the locksmiths are based at. While she called off the phone book, I called the numbers from my Yelp app who are located nearest to us. Got voice mail with the first three companies and the fourth call was the charm when Barak answered the phone. He quoted her at least 30 bucks less than the two other quotes she got and told her he would be here in 30 minutes. He got here under 20 minutes. So he got here and worked on her lock for a few minutes. He was very friendly, professional, helpful and explained in detail of what he was doing. Barak is fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, fast, and fair-priced. Called him today when I was having trouble installing a new deadbolt. He came in and showed me a much easier way of installing it and didn't even charge me for it because I could do it myself. So instead I had him work on the gate outside my door which I've never really used because I didn't have a key for the deadbolt. He put in a new deadbolt and keyed it so that I could open both the gate and my front door with the same key. So our company has been using Barack for two years now. Started our relationship after we tried 20 locksmiths and security entry NON specialists who didn't want to do a recessed magnetic lock for our 9 foot double glass entry doors. His attitude was, okay if it can be done I'll do it. That sold it for me. To boot he was fast, the price was fair and his service calls for the glass doors have always been super quick. If you know glass doors you'll know they are finicky as hell, always needing adjustment. My employees also just abuse the hell or of them so when we finally had a door closer go bad, he was out in a flash, changed a 20 year old closer in less then an hour and boom working. I then had something ADT installed and it wasn't working so I called Barack to help trouble shoot it. Did he charge for it -NO, he gave his input and even did some routine maintenance for me free. Upon knocking on my door, he knew that the existing lock made by Schlage was discontinued 8 years ago and Bladwin was the only company that had a comparable handle set.
