Best barbecue in Cleveland area HANDS DOWN. The smoked meatloaf is incredible! The guys in there are always incredibly personable (and funny!) and serve up the most juicy, well seasoned barbecue with both sweet and non sweet sauces you will find in all of Cleveland. The brisket has a perfect charred cap! read more

If you like smoked you like smoked and this is the place to go. Was lucky enough to try some fantastic ribs and the taste was dancing in my mouth. Great food tricks to excellent food with awesome service is involved. It's no wonder they're already awesome reviews add this to it because it is just that. read more

Carryout and only open from 11a until they sell out (usually ~3p) on Fridays and Saturdays. No frills but very friendly owner/employees and some of the best bbq I've had in Cleveland. Smoked meatloaf, bacon, hot links, brisket and pork belly were standouts. Ribs, chicken, Mac and sausage were solid as well. read more

One of the best no no...... The BEST pulled pork sandwich I've ever had Period. I got it done house style!!! Starts with a Huge helping of smoked pulled pork dusted in spices and drizzled with home queso sauce and a drizzle of BBQ sauce. The combo and flavor was amazing and sandwich filled me up I grabbed a half pound of brisket to boot and I don't know if I can even eat it at the moment I'm so stuffed. I highly recommend checking this place out friendly service and lots of meat options to choose from I have to come back and try the ribs next. Wonderful casual environment lots of room to eat in. read more

Barabicu Smokehouse - Pulled pork chefs way - Barbeque Near Me - Parma, Ohio

Is it open anymore? Did the restaurant just close beneath everyone's nose after all these wonderful and amazing reviews I would love to buy it if it's available if that's what happened, but I'd have to work with the owner and he'd be well paid for the time it took him to train me to do what he did so well. read more

Barabicu is a local gem. Haven't been back here in a minute but it's on my mind all the time. I've had a lot of BBQ in Cleveland and theirs is the best. The only places that get close to this quality are in Texas. Heck it's even better than a lot of Southern joints. Hope to be back soon! read more

The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves. You owe it yourself to give this place a try.

OH MY WORD!!!! Stopped in while I was in town for my birthday- what a birthday treat! Since it was our first stop in we decided to get the Baby Bicu so that we could sample a little bit of everything. It came with 2 sides, 2 drinks and a quarter pound of pulled pork, brisket, all-beef sausage, meatloaf, cupcake chicken, and corned beef. Everything was mouth-watering delicious! We went with the greens and smoked potato salad as our sides- also delicious! Probably the best barbecue we have ever had- loved it so much that I have bragged about this place to everyone who would listen. Can't wait to come back!!! read more

Very good bbq at this place. They use an offset smoker and closest bbq to Texas bbq I have had in North East Ohio. The owner and staff were great and provided us with various samples while our order was being made. Would definitely go back. read more

These cats absolutely know what they're doing and knocked it out of the park on our recent visit there. Upon entry, they asked if my buddy or I had ever been before. Answering no, they immediately start whipping out small taster cups and we get the chance to dive into a bevy of samples...barbecued meatloaf, shredded pulled pork and brisket chili. I am no meatloaf fan, but their concoction just might make me change my mind...super moist and full of flavor topped with their slightly spicy, thick sauce. Pulled pork was also moist and tangy, and the large-chunk brisket with large beans made for a unique take on chili. Although the samples offered were rock solid, I am a rib guy so that is ALWAYS my first choice at a new BBQ joint. I ordered the half slab along with sides of chipotle mac-n-cheese and smoked potato salad. Be forewarned that most everything on their menu is a la carte, so plan accordingly. Nothing fancy about how they serve the food...ribs were wrapped neatly in aluminum foil (which i used as my plate) and sides are served in those half-pint style plastic containers you'd get at a deli. Hey...less to clean-up and throw away after the meal! My ribs came with their two signature sauces, the aforementioned spicy and thick sauce and a thinner mustard-based sauce. Although I do love mustard, the thick, spicy sauce was the clear winner for me. Ribs were just as I expected from well-smoked meats...great smoke ring and a thick bark made of their spice rub. The meat was tender, but you still had to "work" to get it off the bone which is exactly as it should be...none of this fall-off-the-bone crap. Ribs were great with just the rub and smoke, but the sauce (on the side!) took it up a notch. As for the sides, I thought the spiral mac-n-cheese was a unique version of a traditional BBQ side dish...slightly spicy but still plenty cheesy. The smoked potato salad had (what else?) smoked potatoes cut into large bite-sized chunks and mixed with what seemed to be a mayo and mustard combo sauce along with other spices. I enjoyed this also unique twist on potato salad, but the only slight ding on the entire meal was not all the potato chunks were cooked thoroughly. Maybe a bit more time in the smoker guys? I also tried my buddy's beans which had a great kick and a lot of large beans...really good stuff! So there's the rundown. nothing pretentious about this place, and a group of guys who clearly love their 'Que and are trying to take great pride in it. Give this place a try, doubt you'll be disappointed. read more

First and foremost: this place is NOT open until 8pm as stated here; they usually close by around 3pm and are never open for dinner. Barrabicu is a smokehouse, not a restaurant - only open til they run out of meat, with a usual day being ~700 lbs of meat sold in 3-4 hrs (from 11 to 2-3pm) Orders are takeout, so no dine-in service but there's a sitting area with benches in the shop right next to a sink (eat BBQ with your hands the way it was meant to be done!!) The owner and his brother are really friendly and will bring out samples of whatever's cooking in the kitchen along with sauce suggestions while you wait and as you eat. We got the 1/2 rack of ribs and 1/2 lb brisket, but also tried fresh samples of essentially the whole menu, including smoked corned beef (Friday special only), double smoked bacon (Saturday special only), smoked meatloaf, and spicy meatballs. Overall this place stands out for very authentic bbq w/ that legit smoke ring and crispy bark layer but the consequent downside is meat that can be a bit on the drier side and a little less tender (ribs esp) compared to other places. Brisket and smoked meatloaf are standouts to try though! PS they're planning to expand soon with a food truck that will be around at Walnut Wednesdays and Edgewater~ read more

Only taking a star off because I wanted to try the cupcakes and they didn't have them. Overall amazing BBQ, great smokey flavor, and a must try if you want great food. The guys working were super cool too. Thanks for being open during the quarantine! Man n cheese was some of the best I ever had, plus the beans were so good too. Overall very impressed with the smoked meatloaf. read more

A smoke scented store is all the ambiance this place needs to pimp it's wares! If you're looking to impress your girl with a nice setting, keep driving unless she grew up on a farm! If you just want really good BBQ, stop and buy as much as you can stomach. As of this writing, the place is only open until they sell out. I came in at 11:30 on a Saturday, and they were already out of bacon. No harm, though, as I was here for the brisket and the pulled pork. Combined half a pound of each with 2 sides and a pop for $20. Great deal! The pulled pork stole the show. Very tender and juicy, with a subtle rub tossed in for good measure. The brisket had a great bark, but was a tad dry. They have 2 BBQ sauces, one mustard and one ketchup based. Both complemented the meats nicely, and neither over whelmed the flavor. The mustard was particularly good on the pulled pork. For sides I had the chipotle mac & cheese and coleslaw. The mac and cheese was the spiciest thing we ate. Not overpowering, but very good with a very thick cheese sauce. They prepare it right in front of you, so you're not getting yesterday's left overs. The coleslaw was also very good, in a thick and creamy sauce. Looking forward to a return trip and the ribs.... read more

Barabicu Smokehouse recently opened in Parma, and I am happy to report that their smoked meat is legit. It has an amazing smoked flavor! They smoke their potato salad and mac n cheese too! As my kids are getting piano and karate lessons, I'm going to hang out at Barabicu. This allows me to try all their menu items quickly. I ordered brisket, cupcake chicken, mac n cheese, and greens. All of it was delicious and I can't wait to take my whole family back for dinner. The brisket was tender, juicy, and delicious. It had a nice crust on it that was packed with flavor. I loved it! It took a solid 5 months, but I finally went back to Barabicu and have decide to upgrade them to 4 stars. My first review is pretty detailed so this update is going to be simple. Pros -Staff is still very pleasant. -Sizes of the sides have increased and you can upgrade to medium or large sides now. -Nice portion sizes in general. You could split food or stuff yourself until it hurts. -Coleslaw and baked beans still good. -Pulled pork and sauces still good. (I actually sprinkled some of the pork on top of a cheese pizza to give it something extra). -Chicken cupcake was a slightly moist and tasty hunk of meat that I enjoyed dipped in either sauce. -They added plastic tables and chairs for seating in the side room. -Ribs still lean more towards firm than juicy, but I had no problem tearing the meat off the bone this time. Slight Cons -Still don't like that mac & cheese. I know they changed it up with some spices and now it's a weird brownish orange color, but meh for the taste. -They get their bread from the grocery store when they can't go to a local bakery. I'd prefer it if they made their own cornbread or stuck with ordering from local bakeries but it is what it is. -No desserts that I saw. (What about a bacon cookie? Pie?) -They don't offer pickles or onions with the meat like some other BBQ places do. I think it adds to the taste but really not a big deal. -They seem to always have smokehouse meatloaf on special, but rarely anything else. Where is that egg salad with bacon and chimichurri sauce you had when you first opened? Unique specials pique my interest. Overall I would say good job! Not the best I have ever had like some of these glowing 5 star reviews claim, but pretty good and they seem to be fine competitors with the ten or so other BBQ places that have opened up around town (add Hatfield's and Brooklyn BBQ to my prior list). Actually I'd say they were better than a couple of them. It really depends on what kind of BBQ you like (rubs vs sauced, drier vs juicy), also how important are sides to you? Some places have great sides but lackluster meat or vice versa. I wish them the best of luck and I suggest you give them a try! read more

I've eaten at some of the best barbecue joints in the country and this is hands down the best I've had in Cleveland. I even came to learn that they trained with some of the pit masters at another renowned barbecue joint in St. Louis I've recently had the pleasure of eating at. That explains a lot as their product is top notch. The brisket is my favorite and is juicy and smoky. The fat melts like butter in your mouth and it just falls apart as you bite into it. Sooooo good. Probably the best brisket I've ever had. The ribs are great as well, but the brisket... oh that brisket... The potato salad is smoky and amazing and the beans are good too. Not my favorite beans I've had, but they have a good flavor to them and they aren't so sweet that you lose the flavor of the beans themselves like some barbecue beans are. The owners are super friendly and it's fun seeing their respect for not only the craft of barbecue, but also one another as they banter back and forth while they prepare your food. I can't say enough good things. read more

Un - real. The brisket is the best I've ever had (and that includes the deep south). Very tasty spicy mac and cheese. Looking forward to trying their smoked bacon. Smoked potato salad is delicious. Call first - they are sometimes closed because they run out of food. read more

Easily some of the best BBQ I have had anywhere. Nice guy behind the counter said he had customers yesterday from Austin and they thought the brisket here was better than what they had at Franklins. I can't argue. I have tried to eat here for the past year. I went on a Sunday. They were closed. Went on a Wednesday night at 6:00 PM and they were closed (because they sold out). Guy said they sell out everyday by 4:00. If you want their food you have to get there early. I finally got there early enough today and I am glad I did. They happily give you samples to try as you look over the menu. First thing they bring out is the brisket to sample. It looked like they dipped it in juice or something because it was so juicy. I've never seen brisket that juicy before. Guy behind the counter said someone told him they must inject their brisket to get that flavor and juiciness. He laughed and said its not injected and they only bbq it. The sample was easily the most tender, juicy and flavorful brisket I've ever had. I ordered a sampler to split with my daughter. It came with brisket, chicken, pulled pork, meat loaf, sausage and we added a half rack of ribs. Sides were bbq baked beans and chipotle queso Mac and cheese. I don't understand how the food here is made completely because everything is the best bbq I've had anywhere. I've already detailed the brisket. Even the thinner pieces were tender and juicy. The ribs made you eat the meat off the bones. But they were still so tender. I have never had ribs you had to eat off the bones that were this tender before. The pulled pork was tender and juicy and was served on a piece of bread to soak up any extra grease. The way it should be. Sausage was excellent. Sides were excellent. The chicken when I cut it and stuck my fork in just oozed juice. Same with the meat loaf. Smoke flavor were on point and really complimented the food. The sauce they make in house is really just an accompaniment to the meat. I barely used the KC sauce or the mustard sauce. The meat didn't need a lot of it and that just speaks volumes to the quality of the food being made here. I came home and my wife ate everything we couldn't finish. She isn't a big rib fan and she ate what we brought home and raved. I can't wait to go back. read more

This is the best place to get smoked meats! The corned beef is the best I've ever had. I wish they were open more days of the week.

I travel quite a bit and since Brisket is one of my favorite meats, tend to sample once or twice a week wherever work sends me. Barabicu makes Texas quality Brisket. And in keeping with etiquette of the better establishments, they usually ask if you prefer lean or moist before preparing you order. Bravo Barabicu never allow your standards to waver and you will become a fixture in the community as word of your quality is shared by customers that recognize your product as being exemplary. read more

Located in Parma, this is a no frills, all about the meat kind of place. Preferring quality over quantity, the owner focuses on perfecting what he has. I loved the smokey greens, though they are not a low fat food! The pulled pork was excellent, I don't know how it could be any better to be honest. Husband enjoyed the ribs, he thought they were a bit on the dry side, but honestly when you smoke ribs I don't expect them to be that juicy. I liked mine. Especially enjoy the mustard sauce. read more

Ever play Final Fantasy? If you do, you know the challenge of finding that perfect weapon - the one so good, the game forces you to jump through a billion hoops to get it. You quest across the continent, battling ridiculously huge monsters, doing obscure rituals - And when you're done, you have it: The Infinity +1 sword. The best damn weapon in the game. And you PAID for it. Well, the good news is that Barabicu Smokehouse is, hands-down, the best barbecue in the Cleveland area. The bad news is, well, get questing. Because I have been here seven times, and gotten food twice. The other five times I've arrived to find it closed, because they keep running out of food. And when they're done, you're done. Now, admittedly, I keep coming back, earlier and earlier, in the hopes of getting delicious brisket before the hordes of ravenous meat-eaters clean the place out. Or, maybe - and this is a crazy idea - they could MAKE MORE MEAT so they have to stop closing down before I get off work. I keep showing up, tummy growling, and being turned away with cold leavings. Ah, but if you get the food! The smoke rings on their barbecue! The fatty richness! The way they'll escort you behind the counter and show you their process, give you tastes of stuff right off the bone! And their meatloaf is rich and delicious, everything juicy... It sounds good. Just don't get, you know, too attached. Because odds are good you show up and find the doors to heaven slammed shut. But keep coming back. It's worth it. You need the sword, man. You need this sword. read more

I've picked up food from here a few times now. The meat has good flavor and good smoke. Sides are okay not great. Place is EXPENSIVE though in comparison to just about any other BBQ place. Came in later on a Friday night to get some take out. Bad news, most of the BBQ meats were already sold out. They sold me what they had- the leftover brisket and corned beef. Super nice guys manning the counter- they were very apologetic. They offered samples of everything, which was cool. We got the potato salad, coleslaw, mac and cheese and they also tossed in some sausage, which was nice of them. Oh yeah, we also got chili as well. What I liked: Corned beef was smoky, tender and delicious. I don't typically like corned beef but this was really good. I'm glad we got it. Chili: really smoky with hearty chunks of meat in it. Not 100% I loved all the smoke, but it was delicious in and of itself. Brisket: pretty good, not the best I've had but I'd get it again. Would aim for more fatty pieces next time. What was less good: I thought the potato salad could have been cooked a little more- it was a little more crunchy than I prefer. Mac and cheese was a bit smoky for me- I just want plain old mac and cheese. The meat is already plenty smoky. I enjoyed my food and will be back for more. read more

Overall the best BBQ I've ever had. Yes, I've had Mabel's & it's just not good. This spot blows it away! Sure it's not the nicest spot to sit down & ear but hey - it's BBQ! Damn good BBQ at that. The chicken cupcakes are amazing & they have some great deals to try a little of several items. I think I've tried everything here and while it's not always available the smoked corned beef is my favorite.
