How come no one thought of that before? A cosy little place specialising in Sherries, with some tapas to boot. Well, it didn't take me long to go and catch one of the 4 little tables there.
The place belongs to the Camino Restaurant just opposite, but it's basically just a room with a few bar tables and stools. It's got a hole in the wall, wine cellar, even a touch speakeasy feel about it.
There is also an edgy Kings X vibe to the place - on our visit, there was a lonely, very un-sober woman, who alternately spoke to herself and the neighbouring table, neither of whom probably understood what she was saying, and a visit from an even less sober man who started to chat randomly to another table; he was politely but firmly asked to leave after the initial entertainment factor wore off.

We ordered more food. Pata Negra (good, but not the best I've had), and a few nice blini-like dollops of joy, such as a pan con tomate unlike you know it, or a venison carpaccio on some crispy disc that was refreshing and delicious.
The waiter was unfriendly in this likeable Mediterranean way, but served us well. There is also plenty of wine by the glass, if you don't fancy Sherry, but then again, what's the point. read more
