My friend and I visited Scranton because apparently it was the town featured on the show "The Office", so we decided to grab lunch and this place look very nice from the outside. When I went in, oh my goodness was this restaurant beautiful! I loved all the decor and the tables. Odd to say I even felt like the water was crisp and clean. The food here was delicious, I ordered the Chuck E Cheese pizza with roasted red peppers and it was sooo good!!! Our server was so nice and so attentive. They were very busy but he still kept checking on us to make sure everything was ok or if we needed anything. It is a little loud in there but the food, drinks and service makes it worth the little bit of noise. I had the salted caramel gelato for dessert, it was out of this world! So creamy and delicious! Eat before you go and you'll be fine otherwise you might leave hungry unless you have deep pockets. Dinner for 3, only drinking water, no apps was almost $100. Stopped in at this place twice when skiing in the area. Both times I have been very impressed with the food. Great bar starts off the scene. Appetizers are great, meatballs the best. Very enjoyable and interesting pizza- the ricotta gives it a sweetness that surprisingly compensates nicely for the absence of tomato sauce. The place was lively and crowded, fun atmosphere but very noisy, lots of families. Butternut bisque was good and presented cleverly in a hidden-bottom bowl. The cheesecake was a very light ricotta-based edition. My wife loved the brulee top though I had expected it to be more sweet and candy-like. It was more on tbe burnt/bitter side. I've never been disappointed with food, ever. It's always amazing no matter what you order. My only issue is the atmosphere is Very noisy, much like most of the smaller upscale places. We were looking for a quick bite in the middle of a long drive home. Bar Pazzo was a little bit fancier than what we were looking for, but it was a good dining experience, nonetheless! We didn't want to spend a ton of money, and we found that it wasn't too hard to do that with the menu options. We got a crispy eggplant fritti and their special pizza to share. We absolutely loved the eggplant! It was thinly sliced and delicately fried topped with honey ricotta, pickled onion, a small slice of strawberry, and pistachio. It was an interesting combination of flavors, but the result was something fresh, unique, and delightful. A little pricey at $8 for 3 eggplant slices but we thoroughly enjoyed them. Worth it! The special pizza was a "BLT pizza" topped with arugula, whole cherry tomatoes, house cured pork belly, and a garlic aioli. The individual components of the pizza were all delicious especially the pork belly (so salty and savory!) and the whole tomatoes (super juicy!). As a whole though, the pizza was a little soggy and didn't hold up well to all of the ingredients. Additionally I felt like it was left in the oven for a little too long. The burn have the tomato a nice char but some of the pizza was too burnt to eat! It didn't stop me from gobbling up the pizza though haha. Overall the menu was extensive and had many, many Italian options including a cheese/meat platter that was super tempting! Mamma Mia! What a pizza! Easily the best pizza place in Scranton! If you are getting pizza from anywhere else in the area you are doing it wrong. This place is outstanding! Make sure to call ahead and make a reservation if you plan on dining in because it gets busy quick and once you have their amazing food you will understand why. They have an option to sit at their pizza bar which is really neat. You can watch all the pizzas being made as you enjoy your meal which makes you want even more! Only downfall there is the seating isn't too comfortable in that area. All their pizza is done in the wood fire oven which makes for a great authentic taste! I ordered the margarita, bikini bottom and bronx bomber pizzas and none of them disappointed. My favorite out of the bunch was the classic margarita. Everything was seasoned very well. The basil and olive oil drizzle elevated the flavors wonderfully! The only thing I could say that would make the pizza a little better would be to leave it in the oven a pinch longer to get the bottom a little more crunchy. The salmon dish was too salty for my liking, although my husband didn't think the salmon itself was salty. He felt the salad that came with it was salty. The flourless chocolate hazelnut cake was very rich (no photo). The vanilla bean gelato was good but not great. Overall, we wish we had just ordered two pizzas and dessert, not the main dishes. I ordered the Quattro Formaggi as my main course and split a cheese and meat plate among the rest if the table. Wood fired pizza is great. We tried the pizze pesto and ir was fantastic. We also tried a special. It was manicotti and saisage mixed together to make a stuffing inside a pasta roll. It was ok but the sauce was tasty. We each had a special drink. I fit thr vanilla soda it was light and had good taste.
