The times I have visited, it has always been a good time. My friends and I can talk and enjoy the different specials they have through the week. The bar staff is always amazing! Levi is a fave and always a pleasure to talk with. I haven't tried much food here yet but Ill get to try more from there sometime. All that I have had was The flatbread, it was ok. They have a wude variety of cocktails and mocktails you can choose from. They have djs on the weekend. A great place where lots of people go to gather for a good time.

We entered into a boisterous and hoppin' restaurant. We sat down quickly and Cortland was quick to take our orders. Beers were good but it did get real loud (Cortland warned us). It's a great place if you are looking for a fun time and music !

***THIS REVIEW IS FOR HAPPY HOUR ONLY*** My coworker and I were in town and staying nearby, and we ended at happy hour here two days in a row. Great deals on food for happy hour! We got the nachos on day 1, and it was enough to feed 3-4 people! The calamari was fresh and tender, and the spinach dip was quite good too (though you don't get as much). The cheese curds were a nonevent, as they often are I suppose. We had fabulous servers both days, though we did come quite early and the place was not packed at all. There is plenty of space for small and large groups, so come alone, or friends for happy hour, and you're sure to have fun either way!

Visited Bar Louie on a Saturday after a burger spot in Brier Creek was closed at 11p. This was a great option as it was in close proximity , has good wings, decent cocktail variety and good service. I had lemon pepper wings, tater tots , donut holes and Diva cocktail. Owen was the waiter and he was very attentive. They have music and tv's to watch news/sports. There's brunch available as well. I plan to check that out one of these days. Unika B. & Co.

I am very much on the fence with this place. First time ever going. Nice location, interior has plenty of seating option depending on your arrival time but after that, I was very underwhelmed. We were told we are only allowed to stay two hours and after that we are required to spend an additional $60 an hour to stay and watch the live DJ per hour, I've need been at a restaurant sitting at a table that you had to start a tab with a car before even ordering and the food was blahh. I wanted to order the 3-course but was immediately told I couldn't without any further information. I looked all over the menu for a specific time or day it was available and there wasn't one anywhere on the menu. I got the fish sandwich, it was mostly breading and it wasn't even seasoned. I did like the mocktail I got.

My wife and I stopped in here for drinks and something to eat. The service was great kudos to the attentive staff. Are drinks were tasty and we were happy with everything we received. They had a few things we had not tried as well. If you enjoy drinks I would suggest going there and trying some new things. You won't be disappointed. Our food was served promptly. It was delicious, hot and presented nicely. I appreciate food being placed onto a plate in a manner that doesn't look like someone threw it from across the room. The entire restaurant was clean including all of the tables and the floor. The ambience was nice and welcoming. The manager runs a tight ship and it shows. We will come back to Bar Louie and recommend that you give it a try too.

I do not recommend this place. We went over lunch in hopes that the restaurant wouldn't be too busy, so we'd have attentive waiters and faster service. We also sat at the bar. It took 35 minutes to receive our order and then when we got it, it was wrong because the waiter wasn't listening when we ordered so we had to send it back to the kitchen to have the onion removed and the bacon added. I guess she was too busy joking about us not ordering a cocktail at lunch. I don't even understand why she felt the need to say a joke about drinking in the middle of the day on a Friday. Just unnecessary really. I ordered a Louie's cheeseburger because I thought it would be a staple and they'd know how to make it but after one bite, I was finished. The burger was not good. The meat tasted old and so did the bacon. The tator tots were hard and overcooked. It wasn't a good experience at all. I was told after this experience that you only go to Bar Louie for drinks. Sunday brunch at Bar Louie is an experience to say the least. Food was mediocre, I got the tater tots, eggs and spicy sausage, nothing incredible but they did get the soft egg just right. For the table we had mimosas pitchers and a round of green tea shots, solid drinks! They have a dj who plays a mix of new and old school r&b which is a nice vibe and there was some line dancing ! Service was quick and the waitresses were all attentive, there's no time limit on the tables as long as you're ordering, it gets super packed so go early.

I've lived in Brier Creek for about half a year and somehow haven't tried this place yet! So I came here with a friend and we had a blast. I got 2 lemondrop martinis (sooooo good!!!), and we both got appetizers and a meal. I ordered the bavarian pretzels to start which were so good, and then the grilled chicken club but in a wrap. We had such a great time, it was a beautiful day so the restaurant outdoor patio was open, and it was just a great vibe. Our server was also so friendly and quick with everything, we will definitely be back!

We didn't realize Bar Louie was a day party/club atmosphere on Saturdays, but we weren't mad at it! Our server, Ari, was amazing! It was packed in there and we knew service would be slow, but she really hustled and was super sweet. Our drinks were great and the burger I got was amazing! Perfectly cooked and delicious. Prices weren't nearly as bad as we'd expected either. If you're looking for a club vibe, Bar Louie is it!

We had a great evening at Bar Louie. We arrived shortly before 5 p.m. for dinner. The wait staff was cordial and frequently checked on our table. The Calamari appetizer was delightful--5/5. I ordered the Pepperoni Flatbread 5/5. It was delicious after arriving hot out of the oven. Needless to say the food was quite pleasing. However, I found the food menu to be limited - 3/5. However, the drink menu was extensive. The atmosphere was nice as we arrived ahead of the dinner rush.

The service is always fun and i enjoy the open atmosphere. This Belgian-inspired brasserie continues to be one of my go-to destinations for great food, craft beer, and one of the best Painkillers in town. My must-order dish is always the crispy beer-battered pollock paired with their perfectly seasoned truffle fries. The fish is light, flaky, and fried to golden perfection, but the real star might be their housemade tartar sauce--it's absolutely addictive. A few other standouts from our table included: Savory risotto topped with seared shrimp and blistered tomatoes The NRBC Juicy Burger loaded with onion straws and beer cheese Every dish was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this spot remains a local favorite. Whether you're stopping in for a craft beer, cocktails, or a hearty meal, this is a place that's always worth the visit.

The first thing we noticed as walked in was how warm the place was. They have an open kitchen which is generating heat. They didn't seem to have central AC. They did have one wall mounted AC which was nowhere enough to cool down the place during peak summer days. We almost decided to leave and go elsewhere but we sat down. We got the following: Grilled Caesar salad was pretty decent for what it was. Duck Poutine was quite underwhelming. It was pretty cheese fries with duck on it. Not quite the typical poutine that also has gravy on it. Blood Orange Crème Brulee was my favorite item of the three we had. You could taste the blood orange in the crème brulee which was amazing. The portion could have been a big larger. I was expecting it to be in a small coffee cup. I could have had another one easily. All in over an average experience. Not sure if I will go back!

The staff who greeted us was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were sat with the stipulation that there was a reservation behind us in an hour and a half which was very doable for us. I do not partake in alcohol so I was appreciative of the zero proof menu options. I ordered the Jesse and it was sweet but sour, it balanced itself very well. My fiance loved his old fashioned with an orange and fig bourbon. Our waiter was direct and down to business, likely because they were busy, but a great waiter none the less. The food was excellent! Elevated American bar food that was cooked to perfection and had some nice fusion flavors: sesame tuna with edamame, goat cheese, walnuts and a special kind of beet that made my salad fresh and earthy. Truffle and onions with smashed burger dipped in bubbly cheese is a comfort food dream. Same with the Mac n cheese with bacon, really tickles the indulgence fancy! I do recommend this place, especially if you have friends who love bourbon or other kinds of whiskey!

It was very tart like cranberry and not very strong. I also ordered the grilled chicken sliders no mayo or tomato. It came with two. They were tasty. Slightly overcooked, but the cheese helped enough. I also had to order fries on the slide, which was slightly disappointing because the two sliders are already $15 and fries $8.50, even though I didn't order the side sauces that come with it. It felt $2 overpriced in both instances. I don't know if I'd get again, but the fries were seasoned well. My fiancé ordered the braised pork shoulder. The meat was tender and had a decent flavor. The mac and cheese was okay, nothing special. Overall, the dish was drowned in too much barbecue sauce to the point he felt he was eating more sauce than the entree. He subbed sprouts with fries, which were tasty. He wouldn't order again. It was a big portion though. Service was good. Music was okay, a bit random, but still fun.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

Emma is an excellent communicator--efficient, flexible, professional, and genuinely charming. Throughout the planning process, we made numerous changes to our requests, and she was consistently accommodating, patient, and helpful. While we understand that a buffet would have been easier for the restaurant, Emma worked with us to create an arrangement that better suited our group. She agreed to have appetizers placed on the tables, allowed our guests to order directly from the menu, and coordinated the preparation of 20 desserts. Our attendance numbers changed several times. We initially discussed an after-event lunch for 20 guests, which grew to 24 and then to 31. On the morning of the event, I texted Emma that we expected only 24 attendees, but that number ultimately rose to 25 by lunchtime. We also requested, on short notice, to arrive 30 minutes before our scheduled reservation. Through all of these adjustments, Emma remained gracious and accommodating. The availability of the screen and audiovisual capabilities was extremely helpful. The room was excellent, the food was very good, and everything ran smoothly. However, the exceptional service we received from Emma is what truly set this experience apart. Because of her outstanding customer service, Raleigh News is a venue that we would confidently recommend to anyone planning an event or gathering in the area.

Stanbury is tucked into a converted grocery store and laundromat in Raleigh's historic Mordecai…read moreneighborhood, it feels deliberately removed from the polished restaurant mainstream. There is no reservation system to navigate--just an in-person waitlist and, once inside, a dining room that is intimate, dark, crowded, and unapologetically loud. The room has the eccentric charm of a well-worn hunting lodge, with taxidermy on the walls and an open kitchen at its center. Watching the cooks work adds to the sense that the restaurant is less interested in ceremony than in what ultimately arrives on the plate. The cooking is considerably more ambitious than the surroundings suggest. The menu changes with the seasons and leans toward combinations that are inventive without becoming precious. I chose the crispy pig head with Beluga lentils, bacon, poached egg, mustard crema, and arugula, a dish that exemplifies Stanbury's approach. The pig head is intensely savory and crisp at the edges, while the earthy lentils provide substance. The poached egg adds richness, the bacon amplifies the pork, and the mustard crema cuts through it all with acidity and heat. Arugula brings a welcome peppery freshness. It is a dish built around richness, but carefully enough balanced that it never becomes ponderous. This dish is essentially an elevated Scotch egg; I highly recommend it. The North Carolina pork chop is another matter entirely: this is not a dainty entrée. A massive, thick-cut, bone-in chop arrives with souvlaki, grape-leaf rice, watermelon, feta, pepperoncini, cucumber, and mint. The combination of grilled meat, briny feta and pepperoncini, cool cucumber and watermelon, and fragrant herbs gives the dish a surprisingly Mediterranean character. It is easily substantial enough to share. The bar deserves attention, too. I had an excellent Old Fashioned and a very good wine alongside dinner, both of which fit comfortably into the restaurant's relaxed but serious approach. Stanbury is not a restaurant for diners seeking quiet conversation or polished formality. It is loud, very loud - energetic, slightly eccentric, and intensely focused on food. But that is precisely the appeal. The cooking has ambition without pretension, the room has personality without polish, and the experience feels distinctly Raleigh. This is a restaurant that has earned its reputation the old-fashioned way: by putting interesting, generous, very good food on the table.
