The restaurant is conveniently located not far from the cruise port, making it an easy walk from the ship. It was a nice open floorplan. The theme fit one of a mexican restaurant. The menu had a great variety of options, so everyone in our group was able to find something they enjoyed. The food was delicious, and the portions were satisfying. The drink selection was also impressive. They offer excellent margaritas, both blended and on the rocks, along with a variety of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We especially enjoyed trying the Mexican cola. What stood out most was the service. Our party was fairly large, but the staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Despite our group's size, our food arrived surprisingly quickly. If you're visiting Ensenada on a cruise and looking for a local restaurant with good food, tasty drinks, friendly service, and a convenient location near the port, La Taberna de Ensenada is definitely worth a visit!

The restaurant is in a very touristy area and across the street from Papas and Beer, so it can get loud. It was mellow during the daytime when we visited. They offer a full bar, and I went with a Modelo, a fish taco, and shrimp ceviche. The portions are enormous.... the ceviche could have easily been shared, and the asada nachos we ordered were served piled high on a huge wooden block. We felt bad leaving so much tasty food behind, but it was just too much and we didn't have a place to store it. Everything I tried was fresh and delicious.... I had been looking forward to a fish taco in Ensenada and this one represented well! Would definitely go back! Eat here before Papas and Beer, much cheaper, better food!

Perched on a cliff above the Pacific with nothing but open ocean in front of you, this is honestly one of the most iconic spots in all of Valle and I will die on that hill (pun very much intended). Getting there is part of the experience. You park at the bottom, hop on a shuttle, and ride up a winding dirt road to the bar. The drivers are so fun and honestly the whole shuttle vibe is its own thing. People are dancing, singing, already in a great mood before they even arrive. Instant friends every time. Once you're up top, the drinks are flowing and the sunset views are absolutely unreal. I haven't done a full meal here but the chips alone deserve their own Yelp page. We returned to Baron Balche for their wine tasting this past week and decided to stop here again for their food however our experience at Tahal this time was not nearly as memorable as 5 years ago. We were here on a slow Monday afternoon. There was only 1 other party there having a late lunch. We were seated and attended to relatively promptly initially however the service worsened after that. We ordered Aguachile de camarón to share first which she got to us quickly. We then ordered a couple glasses of wine, water, a Marguerita Pizza, and a Flan de elote all together. The waitress told us that we needed to remind her about the Flan because she would forget. We never got our glasses of wine. We had a normal wait time for the pizza and then had to remind her after 20 minutes for her to grab water for us. She remembered to bring the Flan de elote after it looked like we were done eating our aguachile and pizza. The aguachile was great. I'd come back just for this and I normally do not like eating shrimp at all. The pizza was OK. Not the greatest but not bad. The flan de elote was great as well and actually did taste like corn. At the end of the visit she asked if we ever got our wine and we told her no but it was too late as we were done eating. When we were about to pay the check they also forgot to remove the glasses of wine from our bill and we had to remind them to take it off. Overall the food was good but service was not.
