I've been to Ensenada twice, possibly this establishment twice. It looks nice when you walk up to it, its got a large inside area and an outdoor patio. Bathrooms are available. There's food and drinks. I did enjoy the guacamole which was reasonably priced. However I would not recommend anyone go there, I hope people visiting read this review and decide to skip it. I've had many great experiences in Mexico and a few bad ones, this one stands out more than some. I prefer to drink cheap red wine, from experience I know that when you don't confirm the price you can get charged whatever. So at this place I made sure to order directly from the menu, I said what I wanted, I pointed to what I wanted on the menu, sure there is a language barrier, but not that significant. Wine was tasty, but nothing special. When the bill arrived I quickly noticed that my 150 peso wine was rung up at 370 peso instead. This was more than the price of everything else we ordered including a huge serving of guacamole and a shot of what was meant to be a moderately priced tequila. I alerted the person who seemed to be the manager that this had occurred, he briefly spoke to the bartender who insisted he had showed us the bottle of wine and we agreed to this one in it's place. This did not happen. I protested that it was not what I ordered and that I did not thing I should have to pay more than double for being given something I didn't ask for. He wouldn't budge, he knows there is nothing that we can do about it. There's really no choice but to pay, write a bad review and try to remember to avoid this at all costs on our next visit. I hate that it put a bad taste in my mouth for my visit to Ensenada. I just hate when people are shady on purpose. Go somewhere else where they have more integrity. read more

Walked in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon for a beer, chips and guacamole. Found a quiet corner at the bar where the bartender quickly served us exactly what we wanted. Bartender spoke both English and Spanish--always a plus. Music was not blaring loud like in most of the bars on this strip. read more

A group of us stopped in while bar hopping for the football games and decided after a morning of drinks we needed to grab some grub and a few more cocktails. I will say I love the pub vibes and the fact that they offer free Wi-Fi. We were able to get a table right in front of the games which was a huge plus. I will say though service was a bit lacking. We didn't receive any of the chips and salsa until our food arrived and after not eating all day it was much needed. I opted for a Paloma and we decided to split some nachos. The Paloma was a bit sweet and lack luster to me. I will say the nachos had good flavor and gave us something in our stomachs. Overall was pretty good, but may try elsewhere if I did come back to Ensenada. read more

Great place after walking Ensenada from the cruise ship. Margaritas are two for $6! In decent size glasses and we could taste the alcohol. Hooray! An order of 3 crispy fish tacos cost $5. Delicious! We ended up with frozen mango daiquiris for two glasses for $6. Staff are very friendly and the fish tacos were hot and crispy and on point. Large nachos platter was huge! The owner makes sure that we are happy and comfortable while we are there and doesn't let the street vendors bother us while we are trying to eat which to me is his going above and beyond. I ordered the taco combo plate and my friend ordered chicken enchiladas. Neither one of us could finish our meals because it just wasn't worthy of finishing. This place has good food and is nice looking. The top floor has a casino to place your bets on your favorite team. The only reason they do not receive. A 5 star is because of their staff. I would love to give this place 5 stars, We stopped here when we got off the cruise ship to do some shopping. They were very friendly, we sat outside, it wasn't very crowded, we got there around 2, had a couple of cold beers.. ordered our food, and sat there for over an hour, finally got some chips and salsa.. but another half hour went by and still no food. My husband is a very patient guy, but he finally went in and told them to cancel our food because they were taking so long! But my daughter, son in law went back in and said not to cancel but if it wasn't out in 10 minutes we are leaving. So finally they did bring it, and the guy said he had a new cook.. we had 4 in our group, maybe about 3 tables inside had people and they were eating! So they either forgot about us or something. But I do have to say the food was delicious, the beer was nice and cold. Service was good at first, until it all went down hill. So no 5 stars from me! read more

I took my wife and mother for lunch at La Taberna yesterday. My wife and I love this place. The food is great and the prices are even better. Make sure you ask for the 2 margaritas for $4.00. The three of us had lunch, I had the 2 margaritas, my wife had a Coke. Total price: $21.88. And yes, the wifi was free. Can't wait to return. read more

Weak drinks and stomach uneasy. We came here because of the other good reviews on Yelp. The man out front told us 2 margaritas for $6, flavors included. The strawberry margarita, though tasty, lacked even a shot of alcohol. It took 2 margaritas to even feel them. We sat in their outside enclosed patio and there was a singing female guitarist, Ilse McCarthy, playing. She  was very good. We shared the vegetarian burrito $5.60, requested without beans, and it lacked. It had overcooked bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and canned mushrooms with a bland sauce in a flour tortilla. Size was ok and it came with white bland rice and guacamole. Neither of us finished our burrito or rice and were glad we didn't as our stomachs were a little uneasy after about 10 minutes. We decided not to stop any place else for margaritas and just walked back to our cruise ship. We drank activated charcoal once back on the ship just as a precaution.
