First time at this spot. There was a kids birthday party happening in the back on a Saturday evening. We were told it would be ending in 15 minutes. We walked around and got coffee. It was still going on when we got back. We sat at the bar and thugged it out. The nachos have kale and some mushrooms. I think they left off the meat, which we did not ask for. I think they need to let people know what is in the nachos. We were confused. They were tasty but definitely not as described. The wings were good. The margarita was fine. Parking is definitely hard in this area. When the kid party cleared out and all the kids weren't running around. It was a chill spot.

Nice, casual Mexican spot in the neighborhood. I always thought this spot was too pricey, but was quite surprised by how good the food was. We started off with a Classic Margarita ($15) and Brooklyn Lager ($8). The Margarita was a bit too strong for me, but it came in a cool skull glass cup. I also wish that it wasn't an extra $2 charge for flavor and spice, which seems unfair. For food, we weren't too hungry and got one dish to share. We ordered the Chopped Cheese Wrap ($20), which was essentially a restaurant version of a Crunchwrap supreme. I love crunchwraps and I love chopped cheese, so this combo was perfection. Plus, the crispy fries that it came with were crunchy and flavorful --some of my favorites honestly. Although pricey, the food is good.

Came here while waiting for our reservation at Lucali, since this spot was just a couple blocks away and we were craving nachos. We ordered both the Neymar Nachos and the Dessert Nachos and both were pretty good. The Neymar Nachos had a nice mix of creaminess and tang, and the meat was pretty tender. The Dessert Nachos were typical cinnamon sugar tortilla chips with ice cream, chocolate sauce, and fruit. The server was nice enough to give us an extra bit of ice cream after we ate the initial scoop but still had tortilla chips left.

Should have looked at the reviews that said it's a better place for drinks. Neymar nachos were good for an atypical nacho person like myself. No beans, but some sort of mushroom thing instead? Very tasty. The burger was made well with high quality meat but not necessarily unique to the place. The birria "pizza" was an interesting concept, but having a basically a full quesadilla with cheese inside and out as the base got to be a bit much and too oily altogether. Plus dipping into the consume was cumbersome and essentially only worked when the pizza slice became taco shaped. Also the tables outside were definitely too small to accomodate all the food. Should have either ordered lighter or sat inside. All in all I would come back, but maybe just for drinks or brunch instead.

Darkly lit atmosphere with cool neon lights. A bit overpriced with it coming to about $80 for this meal. But it was really good! We were walk-ins on a Friday night and were seated right away. Service was friendly and attentive.

2 stars for the really delicious fish tacos but I actually left without even finishing my (fairly average) drink due to the rude bar man. I was on my own so I sat at the bar and he was rude from the moment I sat down. He was clearly having a bad day (not my fault) but ya know, we all have bad days so I ignored his sour face and the fact he threw the menus in front of me and rolled his eyes when i asked a question about something on the menu. I had my drink, ate the tacos and he asked if i wanted anything else so i asked for the check but i was only half way through drink so clearly wasn't ready to go. But he hovered over me until i paid it. Like i was going to run out the door. I gave him 15% tip because at that stage i was severely sick of his attitude, and he said: "are you sure about that miss?" I assume that he was referring to the fact I didn't give him 20% and I said: yes I am. And he grunted at me and walked away. So I left, without finishing my drink. I just moved to the area and I'll never be back again.

Well, their spicy, margarita has 2 ounce pour of tequila! Very generous pour. I just stopped in for a quick drink. Because I went across the street from my own bakery used to be my go to place for brunch on Sunday when I used to live in the area.

This an update My friend and I dined at Bar Bruno yesterday and we both agreed that the quality of the food and drinks has declined drastically. We used to love this place but we were disappointed yesterday. Our food lacked seasoning, our drinks were subpar, we ordered guacamole for the table and we received a ton of chips and less than a scoop of guacamole. In addition, our churros were soggy and poorly made. It is unfortunate but we will be trying other places next time we meet.

Last week I visited Bar Bruno for the second time. While this Mexican Bistro may not serve authentic Mexican Cuisine they sure know how to play with flavors. With each delicious bite, I found myself plotting my next visit. This is the perfect neighborhood spot. And a MUST-VISIT for an after-work cocktail, an impromptu date night or a delightful meal. The ambiance cradles you in its warm embrace and the staff is warm, welcoming and attentive. On our first visits we indulged in a taco trio featuring steak, fish and shrimp--a true palate pleaser. This time around, we explored their dinner menu. We started with GUACAMOLE and PLANTAINS, then moved on to the CHOPPED CHEESE WRAP, BURGER TACOS and QUINOA VEGGIE BURGER. Our dinner ended with the FLAN and DESSERT NACHOS. Guacamole is not my usual pick but the pumpkin seeds made it an adventurous choice and it was flavorful. The Plantains was the perfect harmony of sweet and savory. And could easily become the ultimate side dish instead of a mere appetizer. The Chopped Cheese Wrap was a mouthwatering blend of deliciousness. The pepper jack cheese and abundance of onions makes it a MUST-ORDER. The Quinoa Veggie Burger is a vegetarian delight. It tasted so good I momentarily forgot it was meatless. But the crown jewel of the evening? The Burger Tacos--imagine the perfect burger and a delightful taco with fries having a culinary love affair. And guess what? The fries are in the tacos. Genius. And the dessert? Both the Flan and Dessert Nachos gave our meal a memorable conclusion. While dinner was an absolute delight, I'd gladly return just for the margaritas. These concoctions were perfectly balanced with a burst of flavor and without the excessive sweetness. Passion Fruit and Strawberry were our picks and they left us craving more. The visit to Bar Bruno was nothing short of a wonderful, unforgettable experience and I'm anticipating my next visit with their tantalizing menu.

Cozy Mexican food and futbol bar! I adore the sugar skulls wallpaper they have! Big menu including all your typical Mexican dishes, and some other cool items like a chop cheese wrap, and cheeseburger tacos. I went with a Mexican stir fry and added chicken and rice. Piping hot (but not a sizzling skillet), and tasty. My husband got the cheeseburger tacos with Pat LaFrieda meat, cheese, pickles onion, etc and said they were good. They smelled really good!!! I'm gonna try the chop cheese thing next time we go. And we will be going back!

I remember the day that I discovered Bar Bruno like it was yesterday...Ok, so it was actually last week -lol. Either way, it was truly magical the way that I found Bar Bruno on social media, began salivating at the food + beverage pictures and quickly ordered take-out via delivery.com. Everything looked so good that I only made it to Carroll Park and quickly sat down before devouring the Bar Bruno Fish Tacos and my Margarita. Now, that I got that out of the way. Let me describe my experience at Bar Bruno.... Bar Bruno is a Mexican restaurant located in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn. I ordered my food to be picked-up by 1:30pm which gave me enough time to take the G train to Carroll St. Station and walk the multiple blocks to the establishment. Once I arrived, it was pleasant to see that they have outdoor dining consisting of several tables and plants around the seating areas. Bartender Sabrina kindly greeted me and handed me my to-go order that was on the counter. Scanning the bar area inside caused me to see a cocktail/wine menu near some frozen beverage machines. After inquiring about the various drinks, Sabrina mentioned that Bar Bruno makes frozen margaritas, mezcal drinks, etc. She also explained that flavors can be added to the frozen drinks....Yes to that! Sabrina made me the best Blueberry, Strawberry and Pineapple Frozen Margarita Ever!!! Great Food and Great Drinks! Fast Forward to 7/20 and I decided to have us come here for my birthday dinner. We sat at the outdoor table that is by itself around the corner from the other tables which made me feel comfortable. We ordered Fish Tacos, Carnitas (Pork) Tacos, Tater Tots, Side Orders of Rice + Beans, a Quinoa Veggie Burger, Grilled Zucchini, etc. The tacos and burger were flavorful and Mango Margarita was nice and sweet. I had another Blueberry, Strawberry and Pineapple frozen Margarita like I had the other day and it tasted amazing! Due to the Pandemi/Health Crisis, Bar Bruno will continue to offer outdoor dining as well as the option for patrons to pick-up and take-out their food/beverage orders. Every staffperson wore masks, gloves and our dining food, cocktails and plastic utensils were served in disposable packaging like cartons, plastic, etc which was much appreciated to promote cleanliness. Thanks to all of the hardworking individuals at Bar Bruno for giving me a nice to-go order and a lovely birthday outdoor dining experience!

Unfortunately this place fell very flat. Leading with what we liked: Their mocktail offerings were good, promising a 0.0% ABV which is hard to come across when mocktails are offered. They serve oysters, which adds to that aphrodisiac experience of the oh so 'wow this is a former brothel!'. The bartenders and servers were fast and very sociable with the more sociable customers. The immediate entrance is very tight, and it was uncomfortable navigating the space. We expected there'd be more seating in the back, which there was, but it was limited and not offered to us until we asked for it. We honestly had no clue where it would be and only asked because of how this place was advertised. While it was comfy once we made our way back there, it was reminiscent of a lounge style bar space that almost any bar could replicate with the right room and budget. We didn't feel as though this hit the spot and were let down by this experience. I'm not sure if I can judge the menu of drinks/ foods as expensive, but we left hungry bc we couldn't justify some of the prices. In addition, I've seen a lot of complaints about the volume of the music: it's definitely loud at the front but a lot lower in that back lounge space. It's as loud as any bar's music level would be, but truth be told we were expecting music that matched the vibe of what was advertised and yes, at a lower volume.

It's classy but not too fancy and has enough space but doesn't get too loud. They have a nice happy hour menu from Tuesday-Friday from 5 to 7 as well as all day on Sundays which has very decent prices such as an $8 old fashioned among other things (see the photo.) the bartenders I've had before have been friendly with some good recommendations. Outside of their wide selection of cocktails which run the gamut of liquors, they have a nice wine selection, a handful of craft beers, and a very small food selection. The first time I was here, I had one drink which was the excellent Star of The Ice Snow for $17 with Iwai 45 whiskey, brie-washed Carpano Antica, Fernet Branca, barrel-aged orange bitters, and sassafras bitters. It had a a bit of bitterness, some sweetness, some spice, and some light mint from the fernet and was a pleasant complex drink and was certainly worth it from the price. The second time I was here was just this evening where I had two drinks. I first went with something that I was thinking of getting the first time which is their outstanding Vivian Darkbloom for $15 with Union mezcal, lime, pineapple, charcoal, Velvet Falernum, and lime bitters. The drink has mild citrusy sweetness as well a bit of smoke from the mezcal and is probably my favorite drink I've had here though the other drink I had the first time gives it stiff competition. I asked the bartender what he recommends and after a small discussion, he said either The Bell Witch (which is a gin and chartreuse cocktail with a strong herbal flavor) or what I went with. Said drink was the Under a Cosmic Cloak for $16 with rhubarb infused rum, Trois Rivieres rum, Smith & Cross rum, yerba mate, lime, grapefruit, and whey. The bartender said that it wouldn't be overly sweet as the rum was milk washed and this was indeed the case with just a mild sweetness and some fruitiness. There was a light herbal flavor otherwise presumably from the mate as well as a light citrus note and overall, it was good though definitely the least complex of the drinks I've tried and probably my least favorite but was definitely not a bad drink. The drinks here are reasonably priced for the quality, the bartenders are friendly, and it is classy but not overbearingly so. I can see why it's popular and I wish I stopped in more.
