For an early evening on a Saturday you would think the place would be dead... And you would be dead wrong when it is racing season. There is a ton going on and the place is hopping. Bar seats are nearly full and almost every table is taken and live racing isn't for another hour and a half. Cold beer, good food (stir fry). A little smoky but the ventilation system is doing it's job. Bartenders are hopping with little wait on refills. A healthy beer selection with local brews helps (Deep Ellum IPA is worth a try).

Nice racing book. They don't nickel and dime you as much as the track next door. It gets crowded in big race days.

It is a thicker style ranch. Nobody had a complaint and everybody finished theirs. The Philly cheese steak did have a southwest flavor profile but it was still really good just a heads up. It's counter service but they are friendly. It is set up in an old fire station and has a cute aesthetic. Will eat again

We got the loaded Nashville fries, which were not hot like I expected but perfect. And the sauce on them was GOOD! We also both got cheeseburgers on the lunch menu with added bacon! Fire again! And that's PLENTY of food. And will be leftovers for dinner tonight. And and how could I forget while waiting on my food, oh let's come back to that. Let me mention that have REAL root beer! It didn't taste much much like a margarita to me. I told the bartender I didn't like it very much and wanted something with a bit more flavor and color or something. She mixed up something else or have me a different flavor, but it still wasn't good. Maybe next time I'll inquire about their signature drinks if I go there again. It was a slow night, so we got our food and drinks pretty fast though. After that margarita disappointed, I decided to leave and go to another spot nearby to get drinks.

While other servers seemed more focused on socializing with regulars than doing their jobs, Taylor stood out immediately. She stayed engaged, checked in at the right times, and made sure everything was handled without needing to be asked twice. That's not luck--that's professionalism. She brings a mix of intelligence and humor that makes the experience better without being forced or over the top. More importantly, she executes. Orders are right, timing is right, and the overall experience feels intentional--not neglected. If you're going to Rowdy Cowboy, don't leave it to chance. Ask for Taylor by name. She's an asset to that place, and based on what I saw, she's setting a standard others there aren't meeting

My Overall Rating - 3 1/2 Stars (5 Stars if you only care about service) Atmosphere - It's pretty electric. There is a large bar in the middle, tons of bar seating, and during my Thursday visit for lunch, it was packed. The vibes are good, and tons of TVs are showing sports. If you have an XY chromosome, this is your place. 1 Star. Service - Rowdy Cowboy is known for having great servers who are very friendly (and nice to look at). All tables were taken, so I sat at the bar. The bartenders were fast, efficient, and very friendly. They got my order wrong, but I don't care. Their friendliness made me not care. 1 Star. Food - Look, if you're here, you're not here for the food. I started with the Steak Frites. The steak was super tender but lacked seasoning. The shoestring fries were awesome and made the perfect pairing to the steak. I ordered the Brisket Sliders but ended up with Wagyu Sliders. I didn't mind because our bartenders were so friendly, but the sliders were just ok. Remember, this place is not known for the food. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Rowdy Cowboy knows exactly what it does well, and believe me it does it well. In fact, out of all the restaurants in this genre, Rowdy Cowboy has the friendliest staff. Yes, I will be back. 1 Star.

Walking in, the restaurant immediately impressed us--it was spotless, bright, and very well organized. I loved seeing the area where they make fresh homemade flour tortillas; it really added to the authentic atmosphere. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, Ms. Chloe, whose friendly smile set the tone for a pleasant visit, and she quickly seated us in a cozy booth in Ms. Rebecca's section. Rebecca was attentive, kind, and efficient throughout our meal, bringing water, chips, and salsa right away and giving us time to comfortably look over the menu. We ordered a side of guacamole, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and the lunch beef burrito with Spanish rice. Although I'm not a seafood eater, my daughter absolutely loved the shrimp and finished every bite, which says a lot. The guacamole was fresh and the overall experience--from the service to the atmosphere--was very enjoyable. The only disappointment for me was the ground beef burrito. It was a bit underwhelming and didn't have the flavor I was hoping for, and I wished I had chosen the steak instead. On a future visit, I'd happily return but will definitely skip the ground beef option and try something else from the menu.

Our server Isaiah was nice and friendly and answered all my questions. Now for the food! Award winning margarita flight 7/10: really enjoyed the peach and kiwi cucumber. The hibiscus didn't really have any flavor but I could taste the liquor. I wasn't a fan of the tajin on the rim - I never am and don't realize it was on the rims. Next time I'm going to ask for it not to be included. Combo fajitas 8/10: I always love the sizzle of a good fajita plate. The meat was flavorful and juicy, which was chicken and steak.
