Few real examples, Ben pushed back on my request for brake pad replacement. He mentioned that the current pads still have working life and I should check back after another 10k-15k miles. Ben diagnosed an issue with my 12v battery which the dealership didn't identify (minor leakage on side) and asked me to prioritize considering safety issues. Hope their business continues to flourish. They definitely have my business for years to come.

He unplugged the wastegate actuator to show me as well. It was a 700$ fix so I took it home for my family to look at, When my family looked at my car they saw that he never actually plugged my wastegate actuator back in, and when my family plugged it in my car worked perfectly. This makes me feel like they tried to scam me out of 700$.

He's very busy and usually takes on more jobs than he can do in a day, so expect LONG wait times, or just to drop off your car here for a day. Sometimes he'll forget to do things too, so remember to ask him about what you wanted fixed and if he did it. Prices are fairly reasonable, but completely ignore his estimates. They'll be more than he says. And also, totally ignore when he says he'll be done. Tack on about 3-6 hours. That's when he'll be done.

Honest shop and wont try to sell you something that you don't need. First time that I used them I brought my 2001 VW Jetta for smog check and this car had been sitting for over a year. I really thought that this car would not pass and I would have problems with it, but they were able to make it pass and not require any additional parts. This second time I brought a 1995 Toyota Corolla that I purchased for my younger brother. I needed to register it and of course I have to smog check it. Again they met my expectations and completed the smog fast and did not hurt my wallet. I definitely recommend them to anyone that needs a smog check!

It wasn't until a couple months ago that I realized I was probably making a huge mistake and was getting price gouged! My father in law recommended Vern's auto clinic, a family run business in Fremont that he had been going to for the past 3-4 years. We made an appointment for a Thursday and right before we were set to go, we got a nail in my husbands tire. When we arrived at Verns to drop off my car, he patched up the hub's wheel for us! After a thorough inspection, it was determined I needed new brakes, which I saw coming! It took the whole day, from 8am to 5pm which was long, but luckily we had planned for it and it's understandable with a small shop. With oil change, tire rotation, new brakes, and other fluid refills, the price came out to around $550 including labor. This was great - Lexus was trying to charge me $850 for JUST THE BRAKES! And the best part is that Vern and his son are so nice :) It felt very safe and good to bring my car here and it's very likely that this too will become my go to car maintenance spot.
