A place that is known to very few people - a truly hidden gem for vegetarian and vegans alike. Most if not all the dishes are made without onions and garlic. The owner I believe is a follower of Swami Narayan and the temple of which is. A stone throw away. The temple itself is a masterpiece and not to be missed. But that is a different review.
There are basically 2 or 3 tables and everything is self serve. Most people do a takeout. We had gone to
The temple with our visitors and decided to pick up some snacks from here. It was lunch time and thaalis were coming out and we could not resist. For $5.50 plus taxes you get two veggies, and a daal, with 4 Chappatis and rice and a small appetizer. The chappatis are paper thin and warm whole wheat flat bread cooked on a griddle. The veggies are a bit oily, but spices mildly. The daal with a touch jaggery (hard brown sugar) and the rice fluffy. For $5.50 you cannot get a better meal any where.
We ended up buying a lot of stuff from there as well. Amazing was they sell vegan mayo and dressings (thousand island). Some sweets, and some snacks as well. Everything was top notch. read more
