Traditional mochi (brown sugar and taro)

10/10, fantastic everything and we'll definitely be coming back soon. Fantastic service and great food very authentic to what we had in Japan! It was quiet when we came but we'd be more than happy to wait in line here in the future. We loved the ramen and traditional mochi and the guy running the counter went above and beyond to help us have a good experience, even bringing us extra stock when we said we liked it but were used to a little more salt. Definitely recommend!! We'll be returning! Edit: forgot to mention that the ramen eggs were the best I've ever had I'd come back for that alone!

The atmosphere was so fun! They had a tv playing anime and the music playing wasn't loud. The workers were really sweet and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the most authentic I have had in Rexburg. The udon noodles were to die for and the egg was phenomenal!! Super underrated because nobody knows about it yet (brand new).

I love the food served here! The garlic and shoyu bowls are my personal favorite!! I also love the new rice bowls. The service is great! The workers are super friendly and helpful even if it is busy :). With the japanese music and anime playing in the background, it give a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that is quite enjoyable!

#4 garlic noodles ramen style. chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts no nori

The ambiance is alright for a ramen shop, rustic simplicity. The choices for toppings are limited and there are only two broths. I would have preferred a vegetable broth with umami like shrimp. The chashu is decent. It is melt in your mouth and smoky. The pork broth is very unseasoned and not complex... just smoky pork water.. I had to add about two tablespoons of sciracha and a tablespoon of soy sauce to make it taste like it had flavor. The egg was the star of the bowl. The broth tasted good with the noodles for the most part but I did not find it so delicious that I would drink it all.. it gave my stomach an ache actually because of how oily it was. I wanted garlic flavor oil but it did not give it any garlic flavor just a layer of oil. There is a lot of potential for this restaurant to take off. There needs to be more veggies added in the dish and more seasoning and depth of flavor in the broth... I would have loved some mushrooms... enoki and wood ones. And some shredded pickled carrot or shredded cabbage, pickled ginger etc... that would have added some more flavor. The fried gyoza and save was perfection. All the prices were high. The ramen was not good enough for 15$ cost more like a 9$ ramen... the gyoza were small and 1$ a piece. There were 5 gyoza for 5$. I was afraid to use the bathroom because it looked sketchy and is unisex. A bit smelly. I did like TV. The walk up to the restaurant looked like a construction site that was left messy complete with a plywood covered wood pallet for a walkway.

We passed by people eating on the patio and thought "we should come back here" tomorrow night. So…read morewe did. We were promptly seated on the deck and given waters. The service was great and pir waitress was kind. Although the noodles looked good, I wasn't sure I had a big enough appetite so I thought I would start with the Papaya Salad, amd if still hungry get noodles after. The Papaya Salad was huge! The spice was good, but the papaya was definitely not fresh. Everything in the salad was hard & raw amd slightly pickled. I ended up ordering a side of chicken to get some protein, which was a decent portion, but definitely boiled chicken. The BKK Noodles my husband ordered was a good portion but there were so few pieces of chicken they were gone in the first few bites. In addition the flavor was bland. It had the start of good flavor, but fell flat. In addition to the "fine" food, $30 for the noodles was insane! We have amazing thai at home all the time and it's nowhere near $30 for authentic & delicious noodles. We didn't try the other thai place in town, but if you're looking for good thai I think I would try someplace else.

I had heard of happy hour options, but when we looked at the menu, it seemed like that wasn't an option anymore. The food was delicious. I will say, similar to many places downtown, it was expensive. The dumplings were 15$ and came with four. I'd pass on these in the future. I also ordered and shared the BKK street noodles (22$ with no protein) and Mongolian beef (27$). I've seen other reviews that say the street noodles taste poorly, but that wasn't my experience. The noodles were not saucy via the "pad thai sauce", but the flavor was there and seemed somewhat authentic. The Mongolian beef though...was soooo good. That was definitely my favorite of the night, and I mixed it with some of the noodles for a yummy bite. The one negative was the service. Our waiter was not friendly and never came back. Though that was frustrating, I'd come back and try more if we're in the area again.

The restaurant is SO beautiful and truly a wow moment when you walk in. We greeted by our waitress Bestie and what a rockstar she was! We were informed that it was Happy Hour so we took advantage of the drink & food specials and we are so glad we did. Easily one of the best margaritas I've ever had!! The Tuna Crudo was so delicious, fresh, and fantastic. We decided to split the Cucumber Salad and the kitchen split the plates which was much appreciated - It was also fresh and amazing. We decided to also split the Miso Black Cod and the portion was HUGE! For the price, especially in Jackson, the portions were more than generous and for the quality of food... An amazing deal! We finished the night with a Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet (not pictured because let's be real, it was gone in 60 seconds haha)! Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough to visitors or locals to Jackson. 10/10 across the board!! Thank you Bestie and The Kitchen for a fabulous experience!

Last minute changes and moved to The Kitchen for dinner in Jackson. Interior decor is unique with…read morea barrel rolled second ceiling . The bar seating was available and allowed us to watch the kitchen staff hustling. Once seated, we waited for Beste to take our order, about 10 minutes. She was MIA most of the evening. Our evening started with the braised beef bao bun with carrot, kimchi, sesame seeds, kimchi aioli, and pickled onions. The flavor was good but it was grossly over-sauced and extremely messy. The bao bun was delivered broken in half. The lemongrass flavored pork dumplings were accompanied with onions, radishes and fermented black bean chili crisp. The dumplings were boiled and had no crispness from being pan seared which left a doughy taste. Our favorite was the Caeser salad with gem lettuce, tahini Caesar, aged parm and nori dusted rice crisp. A truly crisp bite with little taste crunches from the nori and tasty tahini Caesar. Homerun! Our final dish was the shrimp toast with kimchi aioli, pickled jalapeno, toasted sesame seeds on a milk bread slice. There was no shrimp taste and was told it was a "thin" shrimp mousse spread covered by other ingredients. I would bet there is less than a teaspoon of mousse on 4 pieces of toast. I have several issues with tonight's dining experience. A waitress, Beste was MIA, left empty plates piled up with limited room at the bar, did not change out plates coated with kimchi sauce between services, and a short attitude when we asked about "where is the shrimp". I hope the restaurant can correct these issues or find help that truly cares. Hospitality means pay attention and "Anticipate" the patrons need prior to them realizing it. This also falls on management who needs to guide and set a culture that employees can emulate. SHOW THEM THE LIGHT!
