Banzai burger serves up a legitimately solid burger. I got the Waimea burger and it came loaded with two juicy beef patties, grilled onions, bacon and their banzai sauce. The ratio of sauce to ingredients was on point and the buns held up nicely. It was cheesy and greasy in all the right ways and by all accounts, just a very nice burger. The only knock on this place is that it's located in the Kuhio Ave. Food Hall at the International Market Place, so the prices are going to reflect that. If these burgers were served up anywhere else for a few bucks less, I would imagine they'd be getting a bit more love than they are now. So even though the price of a standalone burger is steep, it will likely satisfy any burger cravings you may have. It certainly did for me. They also offer patio seating on the Kuhio side of the marketplace, which makes it a pretty nice option to complement the $2 Kirin at the central bar. read more

I always love a good burger and since this place was added to the restaurant week list, I decided to give it a try. It's located on the bottom floor and Kuhio side of the international marketplace. They do validated parking there. The service was friendly but the lady taking orders was not familiar with the restaurant week so there was a bit of stumbling. But she was super helpful and the food was fast. I got the Hawaiian burger which I would normally never order but was the featured burger. It wasn't that bad for having pineapple in there. I appreciated the contrast of textures with the pineapple and onions in the burger and it was a nice blend of sweet and savory. Although it was good, I will definitely be trying their other burgers next time. Also, the fries remind me of being almost like McDonalds fries. Overall, not too bad of a spot. Food was actually decent, and the waits weren't terrible. The biggest issue was the older woman working the front, we ordered our food and got cups of water. Our food came out relatively quickly but the waters never came, we stood upfront for 15-20 minutes trying to get a water cup and she just kept ignoring us while texting on her phone. Its located in the Kuhio Food Hall in IMP (International Market Place). We ordered a fish burger ($11 | a'u [marlin, was the catch of the day]), and a vegetarian portobello mushroom burger ($11). For our sides, we had fries ($6) and rings ($5). The portion of fish was massive, and it was really fresh. I commented on how it was like 3 Filet-O-Fish sandwiches. Likewise, my companion liked her mushroom burger bc of the size and freshness also. Secondarily, the portion of fries & rings were very generous (esp the fries). Both were GBD. There were so much we couldn't finish them. Regarding the ambiance, you order at the counter and pick up your food when called. Although it is outdoors, an ID and vac card were required. There is good people watching on busy Kuhio while you enjoy your meal. The person taking the orders was emblematic of the Aloha spirit: He was friendly & warm, and helpful with the menu. I honestly love this place! I've been twice and both times it's just sooo delicious. Service always goes above and beyond and they're sooo friendly. I don't enjoy ground meat burgers so I'm so happy they have a vegetarian option and instead of the regular bean patty or beyond burger you see everywhere they have a portobello mushroom burger. It is sooo flavorful and I find myself wanting it night after night. They have good portions though the only thing is fries are not included with the price of the burger so be advised fries are an extra charge. But the garlic fries here are worth it and soooo good. There's also a good kids menu. After purchasing they call your name and give you your order which you're free to eat at one of their tables or there is a food court next door with plenty of tables and seats that are open to use with proof of your vaccine card. read more

Located in the food hall off Kuhio, Banzai is a little burger shack serving up giant potions with great flavors and exceptional service. The hubby and I took a break from the beach to grab a bite. He ordered the Pipeline with a side of fries and I ordered the tenders. Had we planned better, we would've done onion rings with the burger so we could try them, but I digress. The burger was huge, cooked perfectly and juicy with crisp fresh vegetables on top and sandwiched between a soft bun. The tenders portion was ridiculous and very generous. It was so big that I packed more than half of it to go. Their honey mustard is delish as is their ranch and bbq. There's some seating inside the open air walk in and outside the door to people watch and take in everything around you.
