Excellent clinicians provide comprehensive, specific treatment with a multimodal approach. My son dislocated his shoulder and I couldn't ask for better treatment and I am a PT myself! Lots of reviews indicate issues with billing practices and I know that is frustrating, but the care is worth it no matter the issue. Quality healthcare is not free that is for sure! read more

Complete scam and total waste of money. I went for 10 visits and only saw my PT that was in charge of my plan TWICE. They had me complete the simplest exercises that I could do at home on my own. You don't receive one on one attention with your physical therapist, they're bouncing in between 3-6 other patients at a time. I was literally waiting on my PT to come back and give me my next exercise every single time. Aside from that, the women at the front desk are total scammers. I was told that I'd only be responsible for my copay (I later found out after receiving a bill and contacting my insurance that I don't even have a copay for physical therapy!!! Literally the front desk lied straight to my face). I was told so confidently from the woman who sits off to the left that I'd only be responsible for my copay and was never told to contact my insurance to double check anything. Turns out I'm being hit with a $1200+ bill on top of what I had already paid and the only thing remotely close to a resolution was being told by their billing department that they offer payment plans. That's what I get for putting my trust in the front desk/ woman who does their in office billing! They know exactly what they're doing. The PT I was with during my third visit said to me "ski injury? Well keep skiing! You guys are great for business" and then on my last visit a different PT that I was with said to me verbatim that his "boss only cares about the office making money." It is absolutely clear that they do not care at all for their customers, all they care about is making money. It's ironic considering a PT office is supposed to "care" for their clients. They truly are only care about your physical health and do not give a CRAP about your mental health because they'll tell you you're paying one thing and then charge you whatever the heck they want next which is not okay. Most people don't have thousands of dollars lying around. A lot of humans unfortunately live paycheck to paycheck and it's truly sad that they don't care about what bills their clients may be hit with randomly. The PT's are truly dragging out their half ass treatment plans only to get you coming back for more and more visits to make their boss happy. Because more visits = more money. I will say the two PT's that I saw a majority of the time were friendly and nice; but for the amount of money I am expected to pay, my Pilates membership could've been paid 6x's over and honestly, Pilates rehabilitated me more than your silly band walks and single leg press could ever do. read more

If you get an injury at work, you can sleep well at night knowing that Banner will take care of you. This is a center where I guess most of the employees get rehabilitation for injuries occurred on the job. I have worked with Bruce the whole time and he was great. My arm has significantly improved with substantial exercise and, indeed, physical therapy. Be aware it's opportune that you show up on time for your appointments as this center is very busy. I'm glad I was healed here. read more

GO ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU DON'T WANT A BILLING NIGHTMARE. They are woefully inept and unresponsive with a corporate billing department that apparently doesn't follow through on anything the local office communicates. We came here seeking PT for my son. I was told that the cost to us would be $30/session copay. This was a lot for us but we decided to do it and had five sessions in October and November 2020. Imagine my shock to receive a bill saying that the total charges for our five sessions was $3,400 and that after insurance we owed an additional $212.37 after paying them $150 in copays. I called the corporate billing company and they told me I would have to call the location to find out more details. The office manager assured me he would look into it and get back to me. He did not. The next bill came and I called back. He told me he had talked to someone about it but had not heard back. Again he would call me. Again he did not. When I called him the next time he assured me that he had communicated with corporate billing and ask them to look into it. The next bill came. That time the office manager called me and he said that they had finally figured out they billed the wrong insurance and so I owe nothing and he would make sure the corporate billing knew that. Then the notice came saying they were sending my account to collections. ANOTHER call to the local office where the office manager said he would again tell them I didn't owe anything and hopefully that would take care of it. THEN THE LETTER FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCY CAME. I put in another call and the office manager was not there. Another employee heard my story and told me she would tell her boss who was higher than the office manager and that she was just sure her boss would bet back to me and fix this. Guess who I heard from today? The manager? NOPE. The COLLECTION AGENCY began calling me to harass me about money this location had confirmed I don't owe! I have been more than understanding up to this point but I am beyond frustrated and have wasted HOURS of my own time calling and asking them to fix their error. Now I will spend my time letting others know that you are better off going ANYWHERE ELSE in case this happens to you. Looking at other reviews I am not the only person this type of thing has happened to. This corporate run business needs a serious overhaul. And hopefully someone from Banner will read this and call off their collection agency for money they told me I don't owe. I guess my next option is seeking legal redress to make this stop. As an aside I learned that in one session the $270 of the $440 billed amount was for 3 "units" of therapy consisting of 12, 5 and 5 minutes. That means that while the PT used an electric massager on my son's calves for 5 minutes I was being billed $12 a minute. I was told this is industry standard. It's no wonder the total charges shown on my bill is $3,400 for just five sessions. What a broken system all the way around. read more

I was referred to this company by my insurance. I called and made an appointment. I showed up for my appointment based on the time I was given and then when I came in, they told me my appointment was as at a different time and cancelled my appointment. Not a good feeling when you come when you are supposed to. I would not go to them. I requested a new provider. read more

Patient Beware!!!! My wife went here and was told an amount that it would cost her out of pocket after her insurance. She paid out of pocket every time she went and still received bills. When she called to find out why she was told that they bill for different stretches and and that materials sent home.. She was never given anything to go home with. They Never informed her of any additional cost prior to allow her the CHOICE of if she could afford it or not.. This is fraudulent and VERY shady business Practices... I liked my therapist, and I enjoyed the therapy process. However, they screwed up my billing. I have spoken with them over A DOZEN times and received (no exxageration) over 75 phone calls from their third party billing vendor since first going in November last year. Their office is entirely clueless, and despite receiving payment from the insurance company (which I had to handle and arrange because of Physiotherapy Associates incompetence), I still receive two to three phone calls a week. Do not go here. There are a lot of great therapist whose offices will not treat you like garbage. read more

This belated thank you is inspired by an recent unpleasant visit with my young daughter to a competitor. Beware- There is a difference!!!!!!!!!!!! Physiotherapy and Associates on Broadway has helped me through four surgeries. From my first rotator cuff surgery in 1997 through my labrum tear in 2015 I have felt valued and cared for every time. Much of the staff has remained the same over the years, providing an environment with a delicate balance of motivation and empathy. A warm thank you to the therapists who do the detailed body work, the technicians who guide you through the exercises and the especially the management who keep smiles on faces in a work place where pain and discomfort are fought with care and concern. A 5 for the physio. Kirsten, (or Kristen, or something like that) was knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and overall upbeat girl. A 4 for the other physios who cover for her when she was out of town, or once I was recovering and was transferred to a lighter treatment. Professional and knowledgeable. A 1 will definitively go for the administration, because the Dr sent me to 30 or 32 sessions. I went to 27, maybe 28, and to my surprise, a month or two months later, I got a phone call from their billing department charging me for some sessions, when I did actually had session to spare. I had to go to the offices in Tempe, and they finally fixed their paperwork issues. My sessions went from late November 2011 to early 2012 between 2 and 3 times per week. read more

I have been to Physiotherapy Associates for two separate injuries. I am an athlete and marathon runner who takes physical therapy seriously. DO NOT go here. Here is why: Back in 2005, I went to Physio for outpatient rehab after a torn meniscus knee surgery. They were outstanding. Mark was my therapist and everyone in the place was great and my knee healed perfectly. Then, in December 2009 I went to them for a sharp pain in my hip flexor. After having an MRI, it showed nothing wrong. So I began physical therapy. This is where my opinion of Physio went downhill. My therapist was very nice, but very new. We tried all sorts of things, but most of the time was spent with her sending me to the back room to do exercises while she saw other patients. She always had about 4 patiens at a time. One time she had 5 patients at once all while looking at my hip on the table. How can you look at someone's injury in depth with 5 other patients asking you questions? I was getting very frustrated and finally asked to be her very last patient of the day or I would not come back. They said they scheduled me as her last patient, but there were always a few people after me who occupied her time. I will never be going back to Physiotherapy Associates. A few weeks after leaving there, I went to a new Physical therapist at St. Joseph's hospital in Phoenix and I'm cured. I'm running, biking, playing volleyball and there is no pain. All it took was a simple one on one time. Please save yourself the money and do not go to Physiotherapy Aassociates. read more

And whatever you do, do NOT see Michael (the guy from Florida), I had a very very minor knee injury and I don t think he really knew what was wrong with my knee so instead of referring me to someone who could fix me, he had me do the wrong exercises for my knee which screwed it up really bad!!!!! I could not walk for a month, and its been 8 months now and my knee is still horrible, I am getting my second MRI today, I ve gone to tons of doctors and other physical therapists, I don t know what he did to my knee but he screwed up it really bad. I m hoping that I don t have to get surgery. All thanks to Michael the most horrible Physical Therapist around. I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE. Dancing, running, physical activity, that was my life. All I had was a super super minor injury. But Michael completely ruined my knee, he ruined my life, so thanks Michael. It's been a very painful 8 months thanks to Michael from Physiotherapy Associates in Tempe. Was referred here by my orthopedic surgeon. Suppose to have an appointment with Kayla. Was running late for my first appointment, so I called to see if I should still come in or reschedule. They told me to come in, so I estimated 15 minutes late and arrived 25 minutes late due to Tempe art festival traffic. Upon arrival I was told (albeit politely), that I would have to reschedule. Total time spent for me driving back and forth one hour and no rehab :( Pretty bummed because I was really looking forward to getting started... I'm an an ER doc in the area, so with my random schedule it's tough to find good times to come in. I can't comment about how good they are, because I didn't make it to my first appointment, but I will be going elsewhere to rehab my ATFL sprain. read more

I recently took my sister to this location and so much glad & blessed to find the right person at that location -- Terra Gerlach--She was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough in explaining her approach with our treatment and made sure my sister was comfortable. She prescribed some home exercises for her to do to help her healing process.I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a physiotherapist and especially Terra Gerlach for her professionalism, knowledge and making me comfortable. It is very important to get the right person at the healthcare industry or else your screwed & we were very much glad to be on Terra's best hand. Reading a couple of these 1 star reviews makes me laugh. Keith and Dave have athletes all over the world come to them and this place for rehabilitation on their bodies. I could be one of their best customers since I have had 7 surgeries and spent a lot of time (years) with them. Not only are they the best best, but such a fun group of people and an amazing facility! With out them I would be a mess and in pain everyday for the rest of my life. Ask yourself this.....why they have athletes all over the world visit them, baseball players from Japan, MLB, NFL, Olympians, and much more......that's because they are the best and their walls covered with athletes pictures signed by the players thanking them for everything they have done. Most of all for getting them back on the field and doing the jobs they love. That's says it all. Bottom Line they are the best!! read more

I only gave this location 2 stars due to the billing errors. Some of my payments made to my account with receipts were never reflected. Every time I call I get a different amount due. I have been trying to get this resolved for several months with no luck. The office manger at this location will not engage this issue. While the Physical Therapists are great I would suggest not using Physiotherapy Associates (now Select Physical Therapy). I may need to engage legal help if i can't get this resolved. I am not going to pay for something twice. read more

I attended this clinic myself a few years ago after having ACL surgery. I had a good experience and recommended it to my father for his therapy this week. We had an absolutely horrible experience with their administration. They did not contact the insurance or follow up with me for an update. After not hearing back from them for days, I followed-up and was repeatedly lied to regarding both of those matters. After requesting to speak to a manager they finally called me back to schedule an appointment (By that point I had already contacted another clinic in the area who was able to contact the insurance, get authorization, and schedule an appointment for us within 20 minutes). I have now attempted to contact their manager, Dan, several times with NO response. Personally, this does not seem like a place that values their patients and customers. I cannot speak to their therapists because we did not even have the opportunity to work with them this time around, but you will not get any support from their administration, which is really where all of the headache comes in. There are other physical therapy clinics in the area that will treat you with more respect and provide you the same service. Although I cannot get ahold of them to raise my concerns, I hope that others are able to avoid similar problems by choosing another clinic. read more

Beware! Scam artists! I paid them up front every time I go there and my insurance covered the rest. After 6 months, on and off, of going there for my ankle, with no improvement, their billing dept tried to tell me that my insurance was dropped (not true) and that I owe $1628 from Dec 2012 visits on top of what I originally paid. I called my employer and insurance and they said that they did pay their share, and I was never dropped. When I tried to explain that to them, they told me that I did not know how health insurance works. Really? Aside from that, the staff was nice, but not helpful. They treated me like a statistic, as if all ankles should improve with these exercises. Unfortunately, the exercises they gave me made them worse, as I only started improving after I left Physiotherapy and did selective exercises at home. read more

My experience at Physiotherapy was fantastic. I have had numerous knee surgeries, suffered complications, and had to attend PT for 10+ months 3-5 times a week. The staff was attentive and friendly and made the experience as enjoyable as it could have been. read more

The therapist was fine, however their billing and charges are ridiculous. They provided me with an estimated cost of the visits after the insurance write off up front, which I paid. To my suprise I received a bill of 50% more than quoted! If money is an issue, make sure you contact your insurance to find out exactly what they'll pay, etc., as the information received at the time of service regarding cost was not even close to accurate. To top it off, for 3 visits they billed my insurance $1500 as opposed to $1100 that was billed to my insurance for 7 prior visits at a different therapy location. RIP OFF. read more

I had a really terrible car accident 9 months ago and wasted that whole time here. I didn't fully recover and when my personal insurance couldn't cover my visits anymore, they sent me on this wild goose chase to send paperwork to this person, contact that person, call my attorney and just all sorts of things, only for my attorney to finally drag it out of them that they don't accept 3rd party insurance (I.e. Car insurance). Not to mention, they lied on my attorney by telling me that she denied my request for treatment. How on earth could my attorney deny something she was working on getting started for me?! BULLSHIT! All they care about is getting their money. So if they feel like they aren't going to get paid, they will not treat you. I went 3 months of NO TREATMENT because they didn't have the balls to tell me straight up "we can't accept MetLife." That whole time I could've been at the therapist I'm at now. And thankfully I moved on from them because now I can actually walk straight and go to the gym. All thanks to my attorney for getting that information for me! She was NOT happy to find out about that lie they told me about her. She's the best! The therapists are great but the billing? .....no comment. They are awful. I almost had to have surgery because of them. Smh read more
