I was born and raised in the south, I've had BBQ from Texas to the Carolinas, Kansas City to NYC (eh), and this is passable. It honestly didn't have much flavor and needed the sauce. I am a BBQ fanatic that smokes anything any chance I get. Dave the owner is far ahead of my skills. He has been smoking foods since he was a teenager and was taught by one of the best. Everything from his baby backs to his smoked cabbage is absolutely perfect. His brisket is the best that I have had. Wings are big and meaty and cooked spot on. Moist meaty ribs with some pull. Beans good, tried the cabbage-had a slight sweet taste- but was good as well. I hear the pizza is very good- wood fired. Serve it Friday and Saturday only, may come back and try it. Next day came back to try bbq pizza the server said hands down was his favorite. Service was very good. I wish I knew her name bc she was a great server. Ribs were very very good. If you like pepper then you'll like the ribs. The jalapeño cornbread is outstanding! Went there 1/3/25 and experienced the toughest brisket ... told the waitress who said she would let them know. Why not just go back to the kitchen and a couple people confirm and come to the conclusion that the brisket should not be served to humans. read more

This restaurant is more than a cut above every BBQ place I have ever been to. The food was spectacular... the wings and the smoked cabbage are beyond compare. I have never had anything like them. My wife and I sampled several meats and all were fantastic. Our server was friendly and helpful and we didn't have to wait very long before the food was on the table. And while we were waiting, the owner (David) came by and offered a couple samples. It is so rare to be able to speak with the boss and head cook at a restaurant. And this guy knows his stuff. Is it okay to lick Chinet plates in public? I'm the son of an Army cook who made (and sold) his own award-winning barbecue sauce -- and so I know good barbecue when I have it. This is it! In town from Atlanta and stopped in. Glad I did! David runs a great place. The service (with a smile) and food are top-notch. Got the pulled pork -- the apple butter spicy sauce was amazing (so was the sweet sauce). The baked beans with the charred ends were awesome! I'm working on portion control, but I could have easily eaten the whole pint myself! My wife and 6-year-old daughter were also impressed! Tried a couple of ribs -- smoked to perfection with a wonderful rub... they were delicious even without sauce! Got a bottle of apple butter BBQ sauce for the road. Went with a work group to check them out in their new Dayton location. AMAZING! I coul d eat an entire pan of their jalapeño cornbread-it's got some heat, but so tasty. I see why BBQ is their claim to fame-love the sauce selection! (Be warned: they really mean HOT!) Got to try some of their pizza-they may have to change their name. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. You can tell the crust is made from scratch and it's loaded with cheese and tasty toppings. Service was very good, too! read more

I liked this place until I tried to go back today, the kids in there or very weird they have no idea what they are doing, and they are running off business. They ran me out even though they were 10 minutes from opening, the front door was wide open, and two people greeted me on my way in. I met the owner last time, nice guy. I tipped the gay guy bartender well, and now they run me off. I will never be back and I would expect everyone to read this and do the same. They have no idea what customer service is. read more

I came in specifically for banana pudding which I love and was very disappointed! The cookies were very crispy not like I am used to having in banana pudding, they were just thrown in the bottom with the pudding in the middle and then a terrible tasting almost like a sugar free Cool Whip on top plus a very small portion for $6.00! Did not taste homemade at all, like they advertised! I got a baked potato, it was very small and cut into quarters with melted butter on top. Melted butter is really not what I like on a baked potato, I want the creamy butter, not melted butter! I also got mac & cheese as well and although it was good, it was way too salty, yet they didn't offer me any salt for my baked potato. This was a to go order and I am staying in a hotel and they gave me no silverware or napkins! Just a bad experience all the way around! I did not get a receipt either! Do not even stop at Mo Mo's. Banjo moved from Spring City to Dayton recently and completely blows Mo Mo's away. I had large pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and bbq beans. They were off the chain good. I am not a sauce person but tried them all. The Hot Gold has a little Caroline Reaper in it and it was by far my favorite. Staff was spot on and very friendly. THE BOOMER!!! Absolutely the biggest and best BBQ potato I have ever eaten. It's big enough for 2 people to share and both feel full. Or you can have plenty leftover for just yourself. It reheats very well for lunch or dinner the next day. It is soooo good! I also love the pulled pork sandwich. The kaiser roll that they serve it on is wonderful and gives it a great texture that you don't get from ordinary hamburger type buns that most BBQ restaurants use. The baked beans and potato salad are very flavorful. You can tell they are fresh made and not bought in bulk from some food supplier. The BBQ sauces are also excellent. Try the Apple-butter BBQ sauce! It's very unique and original. The mustard based sauce is really good too. But my favorite is the tradition sweet sauce. It's like a think Carolina style sauce that is just perfect - a little tangy and not too hot. My only dislike from this place is the coleslaw. The owner says that it's homemade but the 3 times that I've ordered it, it tastes like it came from the deli at Walmart. The mayonnaise taste is overwhelming and the cabbage that is used does not taste like home chopped cabbage. I just don't order the slaw anymore. Other than the one disappointment with the coleslaw, this is an awesome little family-owned BBQ joint. I really hope this place makes it in Spring City. I came to Dayton TN to visit friends. We had dinner at Banjo's BBQ. This was the best BBQ I have ever had. The ribs, chicken wings and brisket were the most flavorful and tender that I have ever had. My wife and I being from Texas did not think that we would ever find BBQ that would compare to Texas BBQ. Banjo's BBQ (in our opinion) has out scored any of the BBQ places we have been to in our home state of Texas. This is not easy to admit because Texans are very proud of our BBQ. read more
