Look, I wish the joint were open 24hrs but I'm grateful it's open until past 9 none-the-less. For night owl/person or worker who needs affordable options, other than drive-thru, Huddle House hits the spot. Always a fan of their burgers & also enjoyed the chicken tender sandwich. Coffees' fresh, which is important to me! Wish there were milkshakes, tho. The coffee makes up for that. Oh, and the ambiance of the diner is always relaxed. People being respectful & not overly loud. Service is on point & I appreciate everyone there. read more

This is one of my favorite places in Dayton to eat. It's got fairly decent prices if you've got a coupon still a little high but anyway I went on January 13 around 4:30 in the afternoon. I ordered a steak Philly sandwich with fries a small blonde, headed girl prepared my fries and this is what she gave me. That's ridiculous. Come on. We can do better than that. read more

We've been to this huddle house a few times and everyone we get the same waitress who is not very polite or friendly, seems irritated all the time. The peeling of the waffles with bare hands is an ick. It's not always the cleanest place, the bathrooms are eh. The very last time we went we had that specific waitress, and we ordered our food. When we received the food, the blueberry balls were still raw in the middle, the "fruit cup" was just a bowl of grapes with a couple apple slices, my food was cold and parts under cooked. Husband's waffle was doughy in the middle. It was just awful. The waitress asked if everything was okay and when we went to tell her the problem she walked away and didn't care. My family and I (4 of us) stopped there on Friday afternoon, June 28th, 2024. Upon entering, there were only 2 tables with patrons eating. Not busy at all. There were about 6 teenagers standing around and talking in the grill area. I checked 3 tables before I could find one that did not have syrup all over it. We should have left when we noticed flies all over the place and the restrooms were filthy. In the meantime, one of the other groups of patrons were leaving and there seemed to be a serious discussion going on at the cash register. I then noticed an adult female manager was there talking to some patrons and the kids were all watching and listening. After that discussion, the manager disappeared somewhere in the back of the restaurant, and we never saw her again. To make a long story short, my husband had to speak up and tell them we were there and waiting to order. We still had to wait quite a while before we were acknowledged and served. It sure was not worth waiting for. You could tell the burgers had been cooked way ahead of time and left sitting in OLD GREASE with a slice of cheese sitting on them, then warmed up. The breakfast burrito that was ordered had also been cooked ahead time, as it was completely dried out and tasteless. This mess cost us over $63 and we LEFT NO TIP. We're in Dayton quite often, but I'll never stop in that place again. It used to be great place to eat, but this is the 2nd time I've had bad service and bad food. Tasty, nutritious & affordable. Two poached eggs, fruit or green vegetables, raisin toast, and coffee are barely over $5. But the reason I go several times a week is that the manager and her staff make me feel like family! They are kind and thoughtful and they really care about me. The service was slow. My dining companion and I was seated for a good five minutes (and this was the second time that I felt ignored at this location) before a server finally brought the menus and asked for our beverage order. When they brought the water, they immediately asked for our order before we had an opportunity to peruse the menu and decide what we wanted. Which first looked like a quick crummy stop for breakfast turned into so much more. I ordered a meat lovers omelette, others at the table had biscuits and gravy and a BLT which were all surprisingly delicious! I'm very disappointed with my experience at huddle house last night. Server was very accommodating but kitchen staff was at its worse. i ordered chopped steak with mushroom gravy and mashed taters with gravy and a side salad. Lets start off with the salad lettuce tasted and looked old got 2 slices of tomatoes. I then receive my mashed tater in lil bowl waited about 6 minutes for my chopped steak, steak had no mushroom gravy and was still raw in the middle. I then had to wait another 15 minutes to get a new chopped steak while my mashed taters got cold. When i finally got my steak i started eating the taters i found a big solid chunk of potato. Worse dinner ever, its sad to say but i guess i will just stick to simple food like breakfast. I wont be back in there with the staff that was there that night. read more

This is one of the best places to eat in the County! The food is always perfect! I don't get to Dayton too often, but when I do, this is where I go to eat. Why go for fast food and spend $5 - $10 per person, when you can get a really good meal here for that price? And, it's definitely healthier, including the fact that you aren't wolfing food down. Newly remodeled, it looks great. Best of all, all of the staff are friendly and treat me like family. The competition may have opened a new restaurant right across the way, but it can't compete. read more

The health inspection grade for this place is 100. That is a HUGE surprise. I ordered a grilled chicken breast with whole kernel corn and green beans. The corn tasted sour & definitely off. When I sent it back the manager come over and said that she had tasted the corn and there was nothing wrong with it. My corn must have been served in a dish that had not been washed and had leftover vinegar or salad dressing in it. Seriously? Which is worse-spoiled corn or corn served in an unwashed dish???? This place words cannot explain. They have a 100% on there state inspection, which to me is the world. I always get the MVP Breakfast. Omg it is the best, and that is the only thing I will ever get there it is so good. It contains waffles, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and your choice of b&g or grits. Do yourself a favor and choose somewhere else to eat. The food was awful. The mashed potatoes with the country style steak had full potato skins on them with no gravy offered. The waitress feels that it is your duty to tell them you want butter and gravy in your mashed potatoes. The restaurant was not clean. The staff didn't clean tables as people left. While eating there five tables were not cleared so all around us were dirty dishes during our meal and as we walked out the door. In the past I have eaten here during breakfast but I will never eat in this restaurant again. The manager seems to think customer complaints our funny. My hubby and I go to Huddle House for breakfast alot! The have great breakfast foods, cooked to your liking (I am picky about my bacon). The girls here are great, they make you feel like you are at your best friends house. They remember you and your order if you eat there more than once. The other things on there menu are pretty good, not stellar but your won't get sick on it,,,,,lol. l They have shakes there now and they are huge and DEEE-LISH!!! like I said before, you need to go to Huddle House cause you always know you will leave full and satisfied!!! read more
