This place is a must try in Dayton. We are from out of town and kept seeing this place packed with cars, so we were curious. Our curiosity was well rewarded. We ordered on the phone and our food was ready 15 mins later. Nice and easy. We got their rib plate and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were delicious. The ribs were fall of the bone tender. The flavors were great with their dry rub on it and the meat itself had its juices sealed in. The pulled pork was smother with their bbq sauce which was slightly sweet but then got a little spicy the longer you ate it. The plate also came with two sides, we chose the fried okra and the potato salad. The okra was nice and crunchy and good. I didn't personally try the potato salad, it's not my thing but my husband really liked it. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good bbq. read more

We decided to stop in after a hike. We ordered the lunch special (nice to see on a weekend) of the large sandwich, chips and large drink for $8.50. I upgraded from chips to Cajun fries, not worth the upgrade, the sandwich was good. The pulled pork wasn't filled with grissel and had a good Smokey flavor. The sauce was ok but I preferred something with a bite. Sitting outside was nice. We got to see some nice cars and motorcycles roll by. We didn't wait long for our food and was hot when we got it--wasn't sitting under a heat lamp or from the previous day. Is worth a return visit--possibly. read more

The chicken killer potato with extra everything is my go to every time I eat here and it never disappoints! So delicious. Add some Cajun fries and you have perfection. Staff is friendly and they get the food to you quickly as they can. Highly recommend stopping by if you're passing through. read more

The food was almost worth the trouble! 9/10 on the food itself. But I will probably never go back. The process. And time to get through it all Our order 3 cheeseburgers all the way done 2 fries One order of Cajun fries Barbecue pulled pork with slaw Killer potato pork And they had everything right except for the Cajun fries just did regular fries on all three! I do suggest they look into a better system for ordering/paying/pick up Heres the example of why It was between 430 and five and there was absolutely nowhere to park as they were already full (great food no wonder) So my family and I eventually I drove by took pics of the menu and sat in the closest parking spot we could find and called in our order. There was a packed porch of waiting folks for pickup orders as they were coming in quickly. The family has been a sick so we called in our order while being outside so we were not in close contact with others! We had a 20minute wait to pick up. which was fine so we sat in the parking lot. As we sat there we watched 2vans pull up and unload (again the food is great) After 25 minutes of waiting we called to check if it were ready they said yes. Since we ordered over the phone we had to pick up and pay. However there were (not exaggerating) a line of 14 or more folks that came out the bus/van or order. In the same line. Meanwhile, I'm watching my food. Sit there for over 10 minutes getting cold while we're over 14 folks away (I understand that is no one's fault. I'm just suggesting a better process) So I call the restaurant while my significant other is in line asking how we get our food and if we can come up, grab it and pay thinking that may be there was a second window somewhere somewhere for pick up because again my food is right there getting cold!! Husband was in line, but they told us we would just have to keep waiting the line was slow ! And God knows how long this may have went on finally about 35 minutes after placing my order my food was received! Only because someone let us cut hearing me on the phone with my S/o saying at this point let's just go elsewhere!!! And with a nuk in the microwave the food was still extremely tasty !!!! read more

Right on the bypass in Dayton, I ordered BBQ pork sandwich lunch special. Comes with chips and beverage. The iced tea was very good. They were not very busy when I ordered so my food came out right away. There was way too much sweet bbq sauce and not a lot of pulled pork on the sandwich but the bun was very soft and fresh. Would not make a special trip to eat there but worth a stop if you are pretty hungry. read more

Better visit today than a few years ago when I tried for the first time. Had the rib plate which were good,wings good, tea and apple pie were good as well. A little disappointed on the size of the sides, had fries and beans and once they put them in the styrofoam container, got about 2 or 3 tablespoons of beans and a dozen fries. We recently moved to Dayton, TN from Arizona and Noticed that Mo-Mo's always seemed to be busy. So we gave it a try and we were not disappointed. My wife had the rib plate with slaw and baked beans while I chose the pulled pork sandwich and fries. All of the food was wonderful and the slaw gets five stars. The only complaint was the fried pies were a little overdone on the crust but that won't stop us from ordering them again. Great roadside BBQ joint. read more

The BBQ WAS SUPER!! we got a plate of pulled pork, which comes with 2sides. We got additional sides and 3 drinks for $17. This easily feed my husband and I, and our (11 yr old) daughter. Sat outside at picnic tables and ate. The potato salad and cole slaw were great, onion rings slightly dry, but overall super food, and would definitely recommend it!! read more

Best dang BBQ around hands down !! No complaints ! Everything was delicious. I got the pulled pork with coleslaw side and it sure was good .

Just good, just really good. The ribs and onion rings are the best thing on the menu. Ordered all three desserts(apple, peach and cherry) ice cream would of put it over the top. The potato salad is store bought (the cashier confirmed it) a bit disappointing. The beans were good, with just a bit of kick, the coleslaw was fair (nothing to write home about) and tots were a notch above that. Would certainly go back, but I would bring hot sauce and some salt and pepper with me. read more

People all throughout dayton rave about how spectacular Mo-Mo's Bar-B-Q really is. Today was my third time eating at this restaurant and it has completely proved my theory to be right. Awful service and below average food. The restaurant is never busy, but for some reason it always takes a few minutes for the ladies behind the window to greet you and ask for your order. On top of all that two customers who ordered the exact same meal received their food before my girlfriend and I received ours. I ordered the loaded chicken potato. This comes with a potato, chicken, cheese, sour cream, butter, and barbecue sauce. My meal was terribly below average. Way to much barbecue sauce which made my entire meal soggy. Barely any cheese and the chicken was extremely scarce. All in all, it tasted like I was eating only barbecue sauce with a rare piece of chicken or two. Menu is terrible with very few actual options. Do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. One last thing, on top of the girls taking forever to greet us, they were standing behind the door goofing off and saw both of us at the window but continued to have non work related conversations. This proves that Mo-Mo's Bar-B-Q is not like your typical restaurant where customer service is the top priority. read more

If you love BBQ, this place is amazing! I've never ate indoors there but I have gotta food to go there many times and it is absolutely delicious! The staff is friendly, fresh food, you get more than your money's worth for what you pay for. It's not expensive. I would highly recommend this to new comers or anyone passing through. read more

In town on business and I am a fan of the BBQ. The place is what I would call a roadside stand. I've always had good luck with the kinds of joints and this one was no exception. The pork plate was very good, I expected a bit more smoke flavor but it was still tender and tasty. The okra was lightly breaded and fried just how I like it. I asked if the beans were sweet or hot. The answer I got gave me a chuckle. "Some days they are hot, some days not as much, it all depends on how much hot sauce I put in them". That sold me, I had to roll the dice and takes my chances. Coming from Texas, you'd think there would be no BBQ that would compare with the Lone Star State--think again! Ms. Jones is happy to tell you there is a BBQ place that's leaps and bounds BETTER than any BBQ joint in Texas. Yes, that's right: Mo-Mo's Bar-B-Q is it! Indulging in a bbq chicken sandwich with all the fixin's while sneaking bites off of Mr. Rock Star's brisket sandwich, holy smokes--this place is the bomb. Tender, delicious meat...soft big buns...a variety of bbq sauces...and some of the best coleslaw you've ever put in your mouth. And don't forget to try the onion rings! This is one of my top three Bar-B-Q places. I love their beef bbq sandwich with cole slaw-extra sauce, please! I've never been disappointed in the 11 years that I've eaten here. The medium size sandwich is almost too much. Killer loaded potato-it's three meals worth of yummy goodness. And the plates can't be beat-their beans are amazing...heck, all their sides are great! We are not very well off and for just one night thought we would splurge and go out to MoMos for a treat what we got was two pulled pork sandwiches two orders of fries one killer potatoe four ribs that were mostly gristle and one order of deep fried pickles the total was $45.00 and some change. The cups of coleslaw may have had a teaspoon of coleslaw if I was lucky. And I was charged $1.70 each. The food wasn't that great and its priced a little more than it should be. I was charged $17.99 for the four pieces of rib meat. What I paid for this food I could have treated us to Red Lobster. And I would have enjoyed it much better than second rate bar-b-que read more

Decent little gem on side of highway if ya passing by this place give it a try. Ordered ribs, pork sandwich,beef plate ,smoked bologna sandwich,fried pie,Cajun fries,fried okra,baked beans. A lot of food but wanted to try little bit of everything. First off ribs are ok not a fan of crockpot style ribs if you know what I mean. To soft for me. Pork sandwich was good but needed more sauce since it was missing the vinegar. Beef also was bland and dry. Now the smoked bologna sandwich with mustard and onions was on point. Second best thing we ate that night! Sides were good but average. Fried pie was great light fluffy crust great filling. The bologna sandwich and pies were so good went back next night and ordered again. They were awesome. Smoked flavored is a little to be desired with the after taste but not overwhelming. Ugh. Yuck. Ick. I have tried and tried to like This place. The only redeeming thing on the menu is the bologna sandwich, but then again it's pretty hard to mess that up. More recently I tried their beef plate. It has zero smoke flavor to it. In fact, I'm pretty certain it was cooked in a crock pot. It was terrible, soggy, and a mess. They are currently featuring smoked corn. Don't waste your dollar. It tasted like water with a tinge of smoke flavor. Weird. Everyone gets their pulled pork and loves it. But I just can't. It too is sloppy, soggy, and so drenched in sauce they must be covering something up. Beans are barely doctored from a can. Brownies are ok, but certainly not good. All in all, I'm bummed. I really wanted better for what could be a really neat stop in this tiny town. read more

The ribs were the worst i have ever had. This post is a little bit old from when i had the ribs, but it still speaks for the quality of the food. The meat on the ribs was 90% junk. One rib actually had just a bit if meat on it. What was on the ribs was either burnt to a crisp or rendered unfit to eat. If i had looked at my meal before leaving i would have demanded a refund. Seriously, i could have ate a leather shoe with barbecue sauce on it and got the same satisfaction. read more
