FOOD & DRINKS Banh Mi, the Vietnamese sandwich, is a snack I absolutely love and can eat every day when done right. At Banh Mi Stable they don't offer a lot of variations. I ordered the Banh Mi Heo Quay which is a Vietnamese roasted pork sandwich. The meat was good and the crust still had some crunch to it. Unfortunately there was no pate or I couldn't taste it. The pate to me is an essential ingredient and should almost always be included with some exceptions of course. On a baguette with roasted pork some yummy pate would be amazing. I also missed some fresh chilis. Instead they put in some Sriracha when I asked them to make it spicy. Furthermore I had a lot of pickled veggies that were cut pretty large. Pickled carrots and daikon are a must but if you add too much or slice them too big they become overwhelming and the balance is off. There is one issue that to me is absolutely critical though. The bread. I simply didn't like it here. It was a typical baguette you can find in Germany. A good banh mi has a Vietnamese french baguette. You will know the difference when you have tasted the real deal. SERVICE I was only able to order at the counter. The sandwich was ready to pick up pretty fast. ATMOSPHERE Unfortunately only for takeaway. The restaurant looks very nice and chill though. Would have loved to eat there and I think the rating would have benefited from it. This time though I won't consider this in my final rating. RATING I think they offer good value for a mostly authentic taste of a Vietnamese baguette but for a banh mi sucker like me, I continue my search for a banh mi that truly reminds me of Vietnam and doesn't make compromises.

The banh mi is cheap. 4.50€ with pork and 4€ with tofu. The taste is ok, nothing special nothing great or bad. Very normal. The meat quality and taste was not the best and the tofu was pretty bland. The sauce was watery and lacked in taste. We wouldn't come back again but If you are looking for something fast and cheap when you are close by you can give this a try

Very long, crispy pork banh mi!

Let me start off by saying that I love, love, LOVE a lot of pickled veggies in my banh mi, but this place is pretty stingy on the veggies. For that sole reason, I had to dock off a star. The banh mi comes in a long, perfectly toasted baguette, rather than a french roll. Personally, I prefer the french roll because you can stuff it more and the bread is usually a lot fluffier. With this baguette, the crispy pork took up most of the space and there were only a few strands of picked carrots and daikon radish placed on top. The crispy pork was extremely flavorful, but it was overwhelming without something acidic to balance it out. Overall, I really liked this place and it was the first time I ever had crispy pork in a banh mi. Definitely recommend!

Big fan of this venue! The baguette game is crispy AF and their tofu is perfectly marinated. You can add limitless sriracha on your sandwich. Haven't tried their porkbelly sandwich though because I'm a vegetarian. Definitely going to come back!

This sandwich was so good I had to write my second Yelp review of all time. The grilled pork sandwich is better than almost every viet sandwich in NYC for only €4.50. The pickled veggies weren't overpowering, the pork was grilled wonderfully and almost crispy with what I believe is breading on it(?), and don't even get me started on the bread. The bread was not only the best bread I've had (fluffy and fresh), but it also DOESN'T HURT YOUR MOUTH! That put the nail in the coffin for me: I found my new favorite sandwich shop but it's an 8 hour plane ride from me...

Each time I go here it's always unexpectedly closed or they are out of stock...someone should teach them supply chain management.

Although I prefer just adding sriracha on my own instead of the spicy mayo sauce they use.

It is hard to get good vegetarian versions, since most dishes use fish sauce and you can't just substitute soy sauce and have it taste right unless you really know how to use the rest of the seasonings. Clearly, they do here. The place was very quiet, which is surprising, because it is a gem. I ordered a big bowl of soup which was new to me. It had coconut milk and peanuts with several kinds of mushrooms and rice noodles. Highly recommended. I wish I were staying longer so I can return.

As my wife is a vegetarian and I am not we always try to find the perfect place that makes us both happy. This might just be the one. Not once have I missed meat in any of their dishes. The food here is flavorful, rich, interesting, full of great textures and always presented with a smile. It beats hands down some of the more fancy and famous vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the neighborhood. To round things up: The have pretty great wine for little money. At present still a bit odd an insiders tip but I guess not for very long. My favorite dish on the menu is the No. 20. Highly recommended.

Wandering around Prenzlauerberg one early afternoon we came upon this restaurant. On a weekday…read moreit's probably the busiest place around, It has two small sections of dining room inside but the front patio is quite big and spacious so despite it being somewhat chilly and windy (and a few wasps) we decided to sit outside with a good view for people watching. We had spring rolls (they cut it up so it's a good sharing dish), glass noodle salad and shrimp curry. All pretty good although I'd expected the glass noodles to be spicier. Like most of the restaurants in this area it was cash only (or some kind of local debit card), no credit card which was a bit inconvenient but thankfully we managed since the price was quite reasonable -3 items plus a drink came to about 30 euros.

That combo is rare to come by - so no wonder why this place is always packed. The poor waitress is running around like crazy.. Everything on the menu looks great, and I can endorse both the summer rolls, as well as the fish and veggie curries. Kudos for using organic sweet potato. The mango lasso is a delight, while their take on the mohito is a bland affair. The only big drawback, and BIG it is.. there's now vegetarian pho on the menu! What's up with that??? If I'm lucky they'll put it on the daily specials board one of these days..
