If you didn't eat a kebab in Berlin, did you even go? its the most iconic food in Berlin. And i was on the hunt to find the best. I tried 6+ different spots and ruyam was by far the best. Came here on a Thursday at ~11am (to avoid the lunch rush) and it was jam packed with students and working professionals. Luckily the staff here are super efficient yet patient with customers. It's self-service. You order at the counter and they'll call out your number. Many claimed their seats before ordering, which id recommend as there are only ~15 tables inside. Once I ordered, food was ready in ~5min. And it was huge! A fresh flatbread slathered with a delicious garlic sauce and stuffed with warm juicy chicken kebab sliced fresh off the spit and fresh salad mix. The thought of this kebab sandwhich is making me drool. The toppings were almost falling out because of how much they stuffed in. Probably one of the best bites I had in Berlin! And for €8, it was a steal! When I went it was not crowded and typical. The staff mentioned it's usually a 40-60 min wait with lines out the door. read more

Straight fire. Massive portions at a super low price (as of this review a durum kebab is like €7 and could feed two not-so-hungry people or a very hungry person). Kebab meat is juicy, flavourful, and tender. Sauces are incredible. Veggies are fresh. Chips are quite nice as well but be warned - if you don't ask for ketchup and mayo on the side they'll put it on top. Perhaps that's standard here but as an American that's practically a crime. There has been a queue both times I've gone but it moves relatively quickly and the staff has been very nice and patient dealing with me as a non-German speaking tourist. Like notably nice, not just "bare minimum in a service job" nice. Solid chance I go back for order number 3 today. Emphatically recommend. read more

This was one of my favorite food spots in Berlin-- incredibly flavorful, delicious sandwiches at fantastic prices. I came here twice in the few days I was in Berlin because it was just TOO good. I tried the Vegetable Doner and Gemuse Kebab Doner (chicken) and both were just packed with flavor and ingredients. The veggie doner consists of lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumber, onions, and potatoes. The potatoes were so savory and well-sauteed, and the bread is so crispy and fresh. The sauce is also one of the highlights-- absolutely packed with flavor and it elevated the sandwich to the next level. You can choose between garlic sauce, herb sauce, or both. The Gemuse Kebab Doner was even better. In addition to the veggie doner ingredients, it also had chicken and feta cheese. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor, and the feta added a nice salty kick. Again, the bread was perfect and the sauces took it to the next level. This is definitely one of the food places I miss the most from Berlin! There's usually a line to order no matter what time of the day it is, but it moves pretty fast. Seating can also be kind of tough to find depending on the time of day, but the interior is pretty spacious and there are a good number of tables available. read more

I visit Berlin a few times a year and always go to this location for a Doner plate. It's a MUST! It never ceases to blow my mind, and the plate with rice, salad, sauces, hummus and of course the meat ( such a big portion!) .....is beyond delicious. All flavorful and juicy. The sauces are wonderful and varied ( love the garlic and the herbal one, but the rich red spicy one is fab too) . Long lines during peak times, but we never fail to find a seat. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful to the wide range of foreigners trying to place orders. I've sat at the booth close to the register and marveled at the polite and patient snd friendly way the orders are taken from people speaking multiple languages. Dropping a few coins in the tip jar gets a rousing " Danke Schoen" from the whole team!. It always brings a smile to MY face, so we never fail to tip for the great experience and fast service ( lines are long but they work fast!!). Love this place. read more

Lecker! If you love Döner as much as I do you must come here. I became emotional twice before I finished my first generously portioned, perfectly spiced, nothing short of incredible Döner here. It may have been the strength of the delicious free tea which overwhelmed me, however, this lives up to the hype attributed to Mustafa's which does not hold a candle to Rüyam. We were glad we did. The food was prepared fresh and was excellent, and the prices were cheap. I would definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Berlin and in the neighborhood. Edited to add: Count your change! I was shortchanged by the cashier and would like to think that it was an honest mistake but I know some venues try to take advantage of tourists. Best chicken kebab I've ever had! It was a flavor explosion - spicy, sweet, creamy, garlicky with contrasting textures. The chicken was well seasoned and so so tender and I loved how they added a couple extras - sautéed diced veggies and mint. The bread was fresh and toasted as well.
