I've been coming here since my very first trip to Berlin back in 2013 and while they've raised prices to keep up with inflation, the quality has not changed. fire doner, i loved !! so much better than the ones in england. all the fresh crunchy vegetables were such a great contrast to the rich, juicy meat. i loved the mango curry sauce as well. it being served in a german bun instead of a wrap was also super unique! the various vegan options including halloumi, falafel and seitan were really nice to see. in general i loved how great berlin is about having veggie options. the location was super close to my hostel and it was open very late. didn't like the card minimum at 10 euro but that's pretty standard across berlin. the fries were not very crispy is my only complaint. read more

The food here is splendiferous. Every bite invites new flavors onto your palette and bursts with flavor. The service is a long wait because of the lines but it is worth it. But I was ready to take it on as a challenge. The corner smells of curry/grilled chicken/shawarma. Even though I had watched Youtube videos, I didn't anticipate the flavors exactly. I am so happy my friend decided to take me here for my first meal in Berlin. I had no clue where I was going but when I arrived the line was half a block long. The wait was so long that we were able to knock down a couple beers and went back and forth to the restrooms. In a city with some of the best döner the world has to offer, I'm not quite sure why you'd come to Mustafas - unless you enjoy touristy things, which I suppose is fair. The line is long, it's well known, and some people are into that type of thing. If it's quality, taste, and deliciousness that you're after, steer clear. I've been to 20+ döner spots in Berlin and this was easily last or second to last on my list. The toppings are subpar, the meat lacks flavor, even the bread leaves much to be desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say that instead of going to Mustafas, you should just go into the next döner shop you see while walking down the street. There's a 95% chance that it will be far superior. Mustafas is definitely a stop to avoid when coming to Berlin. It's not inedible, but there are far better options out there. Geez, I am so glad I listened and ventured out to mustafas to try their hanchen doner (chicken). The line was long. Prob took us about 45 minutes to get to the front of the line. Get everything on it unless you have allergies. The doner was filled with tons of meat, veggies, potatoes and drizzled with cheese and sauce. I don't get the hype. My friend and I waited over two hours to get the durum but they ran out by the time we got to the front, so we ended up still ordering so that we wouldn't have wasted the last two hours of our lives for nothing. Do try coming at different times because sometimes there is only a 30 minute or so wait. The food was a-ok. The bread got super soggy and it was all too big to eat so we had to use forks. The doner was also wayyyyy too salty. I do like the veggies mixed in there but they also mess with the texture in a negative way. I liked the sauces, but didn't taste the spicy one at all. I have waited up to three hours (in the rain!) for this kebap. Every time I am in Berlin, I have to stop at this 'food truck.' The name of this place indicates that their main attraction is the vegetable kebap. It is excellent. Even if you're normally a carnivore, this kebap is delicious and satisfying. Their döner is different from other döner that can be found literally everywhere in Berlin and Germany because it contains potatoes. I think it might also have something to do with the flavors. But it's definitely different due to the potatoes. They have several sauces you can try on your kebap. Your best bet is to get all of the above. You can also order the chicken option, if you must have meat. It's not bad either. And they have a roll if you're hungrier and want something bigger. They only take cash so make sure you have that on hand. A food stand about the size of a halal cart in NYC (and inspiring the same kind of fanatic devotion as Halal Guys), the menu is limited to just a few choices: veggies on pita, chicken döner and veggies on pita, veggies on dürüm (a kind of flatbread wrap), and so on. They also offer up some Turkish juices and yogurt drinks. No matter your choice, you won't be disappointed. In Berlin's still-nascent Yelpland, this kiosk is rated the best place to eat in the city. Hey, that's no major shocker since San Francisco's best-rated eatery is neither Gary Danko nor Acquerello but the Codmother Fish and Chips shack on Fisherman's Wharf. Yelpers as a whole are bargain hunters for a square meal, and Mustafa's definitely offers a deal if you don't mind a bit of a queue, mostly made up of hipsters and workaholics at the 10PM hour when the place is bustling like crazy. I happened upon it only because I finished my virginal currywurst experience at Curry 36 on the same block and was on my way back to the U-Bahn station. Lo and behold, I recognized Mustafa's from my Yelp iPhone app and thought well, maybe I should have a second "dinner" and try one of their döners. Since I don't read German much less speak it, it was hard to make out what the menu choices were. Customers seem to blurt out something, and the two guys in the cart go into automatic pilot stuffing the pita bread. I immediately saw what looked to be chicken and just pointed out that I wanted the same thing the previous guy got in my best Helen Keller impersonation. What I got in about thirty seconds flat was the Hänchen Döner for about 2.90 Euros, a relative steal compared to everything else in Berlin. It was basically a three-course meal in a toasted pita that was a little too thick and chewy for my taste. There were shards of grilled chicken, cucumbers, marinated eggplant, zucchini, red peppers, tomatoes, roasted potatoes, avocado, red onion, and feta cheese (see photos). It was ridiculously huge especially since I just had a currywurst and pommes frites as an appetizer. I ended up eating half of it and desperately packaging the rest for a meal the next day. It was pretty good much like a Primanti Brothers sandwich with the fries stuffed inside. Understand my platinum standard for street food is still the 53rd and 6th Halal Cart in New York. This ain't close. What makes Mustafas special is the quality of ingredients in their sandwiches AND the experience of getting the kebab itself. I had the pleasure of traveling with a friend who was ABSOLUTELY bent on coming here, on par with going to Brandenberg Gate or the Reichstag, so Mustafas felt like a tourist attraction to be experienced and not just a random yummy food truck. That said, the line was surprisingly shorter than we expected when we arrived, given the hype and tales of long lines that we had read on the webs.
