I order Mysore masala dosa, my kids order Chole Bhatura and also spinach & cheese masala dosa. We ended our food with Gajar halwa. Why 4 star Dosa was not up to par what I have had in NJ they can do much better job in masala they rub on the dosa. Best was the Chole Bhatura and the spinach dosa we all loved it. If I am going there again I will stick to the two I said before, I am sorry I forgot to add alu tiki chaat what we also had it was nice. Went there for the first time ever with a large family group. Would not say that the food is A-rate but not a bad place for a bite that does'nt leave you with a bad taste in your mouth either. Since it was a weekday didnt run into crowds and we were able to find a place to sit and eat. Have to say that the grand-pa who greets you is almost a "mascot" - you have to hand it to the guy who works this enthusiastically at this age as well. Had the "Chana Bhatura" and was not disappointed - pretty decent and not a bad choice if you dont feel like having anything else from the South Indian cuisine ... The availability of "Thumbs-Up" was a refresher and sent me dashing down memory lane! The "Paav-Bhaaji" is strongly recommended for a starter - will definitely go back to sample more and come to a more concrete conclusion! read more

Giving one star is me being generous. I have visited this place a couple of times before and it was your typical chaat place. Nothing out of the ordinary but my most recent visit, it made me not come back here again! I ordered papdi chaat and Bhel puri to go. I come home to it and and the papdi was stale and the chutney/yogurt had the smell/taste of Mildew/dirty dish water. And secondly, only half the container was full for my bhel puri. I called them and they said bring the food back, I told them I threw it away because it stunk so bad. In the evening I went to talk to the manager and he was so rude! He said no one complained about the food today besides me and never admitted that his food was stale and said that I shouldn't order those items from him if I didn't like it. I told him I have been coming to you for years and I never complained. He didn't care, instead he was blaming me for not liking his food. Avoid this place at all costs. This place has the best dosa. Hands down (next best after homemade of course). Everything here is good for the price, but I keep coming back for the dosa. It is best fresh, when the edges are still crisp. What makes it so good is not just the dosa itself, but the chutneys and the sambar are perfect. I could eat a whole pot of that sambar and it still would not be enough. Definitely order extra with your dosa. read more

I love this place. I'm not Indian, but I grew up eating at my Indian friends' mom's cooking, and this place tastes like that. Every time I come I'm the only non-Indian person here. This is THE place for dosas, and this place has the best dosas I've found around the Princeton and South Brunswick area. The chaats are great, the prices are great, and they have a nice old man that brings you water. What more could you ask for? I come here quite often. I love this place because it reminds me of the food stands in India. I always get the idly vada combo though I've tried other options from the menu. All are very tasty. The sambhar has a nice spice and I love their chai. The service is fast. The decor is simple and quaint. The staff and owner are super nice, and the old guy bringing the food to the table adds another element to the charm of this place. This place is amazing. It's basically a hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere, NJ, but the food is incredible. The samosas are sooooo fresh, as is the rest of the food. A pure treat. It's usually not crowded on Sundays (the only day I can go) and the service is a little slow, but it's mainly because they are making everything fresh inside. Yum! Great south Indian food and highly recommended. And let's not talk about the prices...it is too underpriced for the quality! read more

Not to be confused with Balaji Express which is not too far away from this place - this place serves Indian "Chaat" items for most part. We ordered a variety of chaats from here - samosa chaat, pav bhaji and Vada Pav were pretty good (not excellent- very good), everything else was ok except Bisi Bhela baath - the sambar rice stuff which was pedestrian ( don't trust a Gujarati chef to do a south Indian food!). There is hardly ANY space for one to sit down and eat. So, better to carry out food (which is what we did). Definitely a good place for a very quick bite. read more

Excellent food for the price. Atmosphere is not the best, but who cares? I live 5 min. away and take it out to eat by the fireplace. My favorite is Palak Paneer (Spinach pureed with chunks of cheese) Healthy and tasty! Yummy. I am not a Hindi, but I am trying to eat more vegetarian and this place makes me forget about meat for awhile. Really nice old guy who cleans up. He teaches me some Hindi words while I am there. Not sure if he is family, but he is always smiling and friendly. I am glad this is so close to home. Their masala dosa is absolute perfection - the dough is crispy and well-seasoned, while the potatoes and the sambar complement it amazingly. I haven't had a better dosa anywhere. This place has the BEST SAMOSAS I have ever had in my life. I've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants, but this place has the best samosas hands-down of any of them. Even my Indian friends admit that their moms can't make samosas as good as the ones here. Everything on the menu is delicious; I've never had anything sub-par or even less than fantastic here. That being said, the place is visually terrible. The decor is unappetizing due to a combination of strange color choices and bizarre decoration. But get take-out and enjoy at a park. This place is not even worth one star. Food was very bad, the owner was very unprofessional and not considerate of others eating in her restaurant. The owner is a lady sitting on a table talking sooo loud on the phone and to her family member seating behind us (talking over us). Rava dosa was chewy, mysore dosa looked orange in color and no taste, chutney was very watery based. Ingredients used did not taste fresh. I would never recommend anyone to dine here. read more

Food is stale, their batter for Dosa is so old. that you can get severe stomach upset. We order Mysore Masala Dosa, it seemed nothing like its origin taste. Aloo stuffing was tasteless and there was no taste in their sambar or chutney. Even Chana Puri was very oily and chana was very ordinary. We tried few other items like sev puri, Samosa Chat, both were not fresh at all. i brought home samosa to drink with tea but had to throw it out as it was bad and in half hour, i went to bathroom. We hadn't been here for some time and were pleased that they spruced the place up with pretty tables and more comfortable chairs. No one greeted us or made us feel welcome, but I guess that's what the place is like. Husband ordered an onion chili mysore masala dosa and loved it. I had two items, since I wanted leftovers for the next day. These items were alu palak and an order of dal. With them I received a very large bowl of rice and an order of paratha plus a bowl of onions and cucumbers and assorted chutneys. They don't have bottled water, which was disappointing, but we did get a large pitcher of water and some plastic cups. We both enjoyed the food and will do so again tomorrow night. One of the best things about the place is the sweet old man who brings the food and takes away the used dishes. The name is so misleading! The people running the restaurant were clearly north Indian and the food tasted very North Indianish. The Butter Mysore Masala Dosa & the chutneys didn't taste anything like you get in Bangalore & the sambar was watery with very few veggies. The Alu Tikki Chaat was ok. What a disappointment. read more
