Thing is we arrived pretty late. Close to midnight. Me and my daughter walked to town, about 5-10 minutes away from our hotel. A few places were still open, which was nice. After checking out a few places, we decided to check out Aardvark. Location - It's in the town of Banff. It's right off of the main street. Walkable from a lot of the hotels in the area. Food - The food is good. It was freshly made. We got one pepperoni, one cheese, and poutine. The pizza had enough grease, but it's not greasy. The dough was cooked properly. It was crispy outside and chewey inside. The flavor on the pizza and poutine was good. I did not get food poisoning. Service/Staff - Good service. Orders were taken promptly and food came out on a timely manner. Staff were friendly. Vibe - The place had a fun and bright vibe. Pizza by the slice was on display. There's not really a place to sit. It's pretty much a "come in and grab" type of place. It was cool. People were still coming in to buy slices. Would I go back? Yes, I would. It's specially nice that they are open super late. I hope they stay the same.

We actually ventured here around midnight after our flight landed. Although the dining room was closed and you can only order from the walk-up window or drive-thru, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious, much better than my past experiences at other A&W's. * Nashville Hot Chicken Cruncher: who would've thought A&W would be the place to order Nashville hot chicken? However, this was actually better than a lot of chains we tried in Nashville. * Root beer float: Yay, it's back and so good! A classic and their claim to fame. * Smash Burger: I usually don't care for smash burgers, but this was even better than the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. * Fries: You can never go wrong with fries. Glad that this location was open 24/7 to save us from hunger before heading to Banff for the night.

We had to moving thru the menu a bit quicker than desired in order to place our order and not hold up the line. Much to my chagrin, they don't serve RootBeer Floats!? We stopped for gas and saw there was an A&W inside the gas station mini mart. We were so excited because we wanted a snack for our trip back to Radium Hot Springs. The A&W is located in the very back of the store, and is quite small. When I walked up to see the menu, I noticed it was limited and they only offered some of their basic menu items; floats and cheese curds weren't listed. I asked one of the ladies behind the counter and she confirmed it. So disappointing. We had eaten lunch a couple hours before, so we were just looking for a quick snack. If you're looking for a burger, fries and soda, this is probably a nice, convenient stop. If you're looking for snacks, stick to the mini mart!

It's worth noting that this is a double smash burger. The poutine side with the burger was well put together, the fries were crispy and well salted. The fried brussel sprouts on the other hand were a little bit of a confusing dish. This dish is surprisingly quite light on brussel sprouts and seems almost more like it's meant to be a salad. In addition, while the sprouts are fried and crispy, the same cannot be said for the bacon. Overall, I'd like to see more Brussels, crispy bacon to better crumble around the sprouts and less arugula. The burnt ends were a pretty good dish but were little tougher than I would normally expect from a pice of meat like that and had a texture more similar to rib caps instead of brisket. They also didn't seem to have been smoked on a smoker and just had a smokey glaze instead. I really liked the vibe of this place, it's a very relaxed environment to come and unwind at after a long day out in the parks. There's a semi-private outdoor patio with plenty of seating and good spacing between the tables. I also really thought that the service here was great, the staff were all amazing and super friendly. Everything I ordered was brought out quickly and my glasses were always refilled without me even having to ask.
