The lake looked better before Harvey, but you can still get the scope of what it looks like.

I like to come here for the walking trail. This is a family friendly park that offers a great variety of amenities. Amenities include: Walking trail, picnic pavilions, catch & release fishing lake, splash pad, playgrounds, restroom, BBQ grills, and areas where you could play volleyball, baseball, kickball, etc. Pros: Multiple ways to have fun due to all the amenities. There are a ton of Pokestops within the park if you play Pokémon Go. Cons: If it rains heavily you wouldn't be able to utilize the trail very much due to large puddles. Not a good place for runners due to the family environment. The trail is not separated from the playground and pavilion areas. I made the wrong decision to go on a Saturday around dusk and there were kids everywhere.

Pretty park. They are testing for covid in the parking lot. The park is open for fishing and walking. There is no dog park and wayyyy too many otters and ducks to walk your dog but it's super pretty and to your righ, there are little trails in the trees. The ground water feature is shot and doesn't work. Super hard to keep your dog cool. No swimming

This is a nice little park that is literally a stones throw from my work. The fence that surrounds the park backs up to our parking lot. I find myself visiting here when the weather is nice for some relaxation time. Usually I go and pick up some lunch and dine on one of the picnic tables that are around the pond. The park is usually not very crowded and makes for a nice enjoyable lunch. After lunch, I walk around the trail they have that circles the pond. There is a big pavilion there that we use time to time for company picnic and such. They have a sand volleyball court, playground for the kids and the pond is stocked with fish. This beats eating lunch and my desk and when the weather is good, you will usually find me here during lunch hour. This is a great little park that not many people know about and a great experience for everyone.

Nice park!! Two Thumbs up! There are a few baseball fields, a volley ball court plenty of small trails and kids play area with swings and slide open barbecue available picnic area. While I was there it was 3 kids birthday parties going on. But my whole purpose for being there was to fish. There is a fairly nice sized pond with signs posted asked to release largemouth bass that's all I needed to see because that's exactly what I did. I had only been there for 1/2 hour and caught a nice 2lb Largemouth Bass. Used a Zoom Watermelon Pepper curly tail worm. Every one else seemed to use live bait and no one else caught a fish while I was there.

This is a great park. Half of the 3/10 mile trail is gravel and the half that goes through the swings and playgrounds is concrete. I wish the trail was at least 1 mile otherwise I would have given it a rating of 5 stars. There are a few baseball fields around the park with games continually being played. There is also a water fountain smaller than discovery park, but is nice for the kids to play in. Dogs are allowed on leashes. The public library also shares the parking lot. The fishing pond is the biggest draw. The large mouth bass must be returned, but you are allowed to take 3 fish with you. The turtles and and birds make you feel more connected to nature.

Empty quiet and peaceful albeit a little cold today. The park is indeed a gem of a find.

Always a good time at Bane Park! I love bringing my family here, there are so many options. Pet-friendly and kid-friendly. From walking the trail to swinging at the park, I always spend at least an hour and a half here!

Nice little park, you can go walking/ running. There's a trail around the lake 3/10th of a mile around. There's a little park for kids, benches around lake, ducks and pigeons for feeding, grills, covered pavilions, you can catch bass, speckled trout, catfish, perch, turtles... Best to go in early morning or later in evening. Just came midday and didn't catch but a catfish. It's catch and release under 10 inches, limit of 3 fish if you keep it, and big mouth bass catch and release only. Still fun especially if you want to take the kids and teach them how to fish or bonding time or just quiet time for yourself. Also meet cool people fishing. We met a helpful guy named Brad from New Orleans! Always love meeting cool new people :)

In a city that is known for tearing down and paving over so much of our history, it is wonderful that this was saved and has been made into a place that visitors can visit and experience. I went with some friends from Kingwood on a Photo Walk of the area, we were lucky that the light and sound experience was still going on, each column in the cistern has LED lighting that changes to the tune of some aethereal music playing silently, the acoustics of the cistern make it sound so beautiful and mesmerizing. When you purchase your ticket online you choose one of the available times, upon entry they give you 30 minutes, the time passed quickly. Be ready if you are taking pictures or better yet, a video. Smart phones work great but you might consider turning off auto focus and just focusing manually if you know how because when it gets dark for a moment and then the lights come on most cameras auto focus has to search for focus so it goes in and out of focus. When you leave, there is a skateboard park up above and worth some time for taking pictures of the acrobatic skating going on.

The event was called Diner en Blanc an all white exclusive event, with pictures, food, live bands, fashion shows and more. Their catering was ok but for 100 pp for food is a hard no for me. The group we were with was ok had higher hopes but that's the ultra friendly side of me talking It was at buffalo bayou park but because of the rain lots of people (Angela) clothes were filthy There was nothing missed, our people showed up and showed out. The live band was very good, music for all age groups. Now our people forget what copy paper white looks like, they clearly said no off white, beige, cream, egg shell but they had all shades of whitish

Here and there, I spotted a delicate cherry blossom and a few early blooms, though I wish I had visited at the peak of flower season. The garden itself is exquisitely designed and every corner seems crafted for peace, and I truly enjoyed the calm atmosphere. It felt like a small escape from the city hustle. That said, I did notice the cleanliness was a bit of an issue; the garden could definitely use some extra care to keep it pristine. Another small drawback was the restroom situation. There are only two available, and both were quite busy, so I ended up waiting a while and eventually decided it wasn't worth it. Still, the park draws a lovely crowd with people come to stroll, reflect, and soak in the beauty. If I'm in Houston again at a better time, I'll absolutely return to see the garden in full bloom. It has so much potential, and with a little more attention to detail, it could be a true hidden gem.
