While it always seems like a good idea to be in the front, I would recommend to claim a spot towards the middle or back of the lawn. At around 9ish it will be packed, the sun goes down and the crowd starts dancing. At this time people at the front will kinda get pushed out of the way. Plus, the music can get a little loud. You'll be a lot more comfortable and have a view a little further back anyways. I hope they can continue to have this event, it's pretty sweet!

The house acoustics are wonderful and the seats were comfortable enough to endure an almost three hour show! Honestly, the bathroom situation could be improved, because the lines were so long (even for the men's) that I really had just enough time at intermission to go there and back. It's a first world music venue with second world bathrooms. Also, I am not a tall guy, but airplanes have more legroom than the Morton Meyerson. I will give them an A+ on programming though, great show, especially to bridge a cross-generational audience! OK, I know Danny is 74 years old, but the bulk of his fans are much younger!

Located in the Fair Park area, Sloppyworld is one of Dallas' newest live music venues. The sound is good, there is a lot of space to mingle (or "network" as the suits say), and all shows are 21+. The place is available for private parties, too. The venue owner describes the place as a "rock club and a house party combined." Even though the place is still steadying it's legs, I can see it turning into a long-running venue, offering alternative, indie, and non-genre artists a home to play their music.

Absolutely NOT worth it. I've gone twice--both times were a mistake. The line to get in is…read moreabsurd--we waited nearly 2 hours, stuck in a mess of oversold tickets and total chaos. The first time, our GPS said we were 1.4 miles from the entrance... that's how FAR back the line stretched not counting the winding roads after the entrance gate. Traffic management is nonexistent past the gate: no cones, no staff, just cars blocking intersections and nearly colliding in the dark. By the time you finally make it inside, you're shoulder-to-shoulder in a packed crowd, too stressed to enjoy the lights. Save your money and sanity. Go to a haunted house instead. At least the fear and stress there is intentional and a shorter wait time. I won't make the mistake of coming back ever in the future.

The place is pretty old and run down, but we only come for the indoor soccer field. They have the main field and another smaller field you can rent to practice or scrimmage with your team/friends. The building is large and has plenty of room for families and large groups. There is a "restaurant" on the first floor that extends up to a second level so you can buy a bucket of beer and hangout or watch the games going on. The staff is pretty complacent, but it's an indoor soccer arena so who cares. Also, there's plenty of parking in front and out back.

Taste of Oak Cliff…read more Cute mini food festival for people to try out the many TASTY foods of Oak Cliff! They had a couple of events going on when I was there. The salsa competition was fun. There was a variety of food trucks and a bar to get some drinks. Everything was very good. Tip: It was a little hot during the day time so make sure to check the weather before coming out!
