Sure beats going to the movies. It's nice doing something a little different every once in a while.
The day after Thanksgiving, my family and I went to go see The Nutcracker. I just thought it be fun to delve into the Christmas spirit since it is in season. The show was really great, but it was geared toward the young crowd -- but I'll stray away from reviewing the show, and just review the center itself. After the show, it's no question there will be a large crowd exiting the building. It was a huge hassle getting into the underground garage -- in the main entryway, there was only one escalator and 2 slow elevators. There was a very long line to get to them. I just wished they'd make the garage easily accessible, or at least make alternate routes visible. I didn't see stairs or anything else to get to the car quicker.
My alma mater always gives away free tickets to see various shows here year round -- basically my way to take advantage of the inclusive tuition. I saw mostly operas, and it's really beautiful. Although operas aren't my go-to type of music, it's nice delving into some creative medium I'm not used to experiencing. There's also a show called Oral Fixation that is held at the Wyly Theater. I haven't gone to one, but am meaning to go. If you like listening to true, personal stories you can relate to from guest speakers, this is the show to watch.
