HORRIBLE. I don't know what happened to this Ann Taylor. I came here a couple months ago, and…read moreexperienced the best service and staff. Attentive and kind. When I came in the other day, I experience the complete opposite. No one greeted my sister and I, at any point, nor did anyone offer to start a dressing room for us after 10 minutes of shopping and clearly struggling to hold the clothes I wanted to try on. Finally, I had to ask twice for a dressing room. The cashier was so nasty the entire time, and was complaining from the moment we walked in the door to the other employee about a large return order she had to complete. It looked like she just didn't want to do the return, and was avoiding it and all her other duties. Finally, when I went to pay, I had the most degrading and rude experience in my life at a high end clothing store. I'm 22 years old, spending over $200 on a suit is a big deal for me, and since I had such a great experience at this Ann Taylor store before, I expected the service to match the product again. I put my clothes on the counter and she roughly snatched them - I was honestly nervous she was going to pull a thread. Didn't even fold nicely. When I simply asked "do you still do student discounts?" She snapped "no," and then backtracked "not on sale items." Confused, because three months ago they honored student discounts on sale items, I replied "oh can you help me understand that further? I was here a couple months ago and the gentleman even asked me if I was a student before paying because they have the discount." This seemed to annoy her and make her mad that she had to put in additional effort to answer my question. "There are no male employees that work here." I nicely let her know that a few months ago there was, he was the manager, and very very kind. To this, she snaps "I can get out the handbook and u can read it yourself"...she said this SO angrily. "No, it's ok, I was just trying to understand" I said. She smirked. I walked out feeling dejected, embarrassed, and regretting that I spent money at a place where I was treated so lowly and rudely. Just horrible customer service. This employee needs to go. Ann Taylor, please feel free to contact me about this horrendous experience I had at your store. I'm still upset about this.

I've been a loyal customer of Talbots, specifically, the Chester store for many years. In terms of…read morepurchases for myself, I probably spend a few thousand dollars there annually. Up until April of this year I probably spent another $2K/year on gifts for my mother and mother-in-law. Isabel, the manager at that store is great and always ensures great customer service. Today, Sunday, September 20th, I was in the store from about 1:30-2:30 PM and the only other customer I saw was a lovely senior citizen and her daughter trying on clothes. Point being, it was pretty empty in the store with lots of salespeople onsite. No one acknowledged me when I walked in the store, no one offered to help me at all, and they watched me walk back and forth to the fitting room 4 times with different sizes, and never once did anyone ask if I needed help with a size or anything else for that matter. They literally ignored me like I was invisible. When I was checking out, the person on the register asked me if I found everything alright and I asked her if Isabel is still the manager. She told me she is and immediately asked if there was a problem, or if I was going to report negative feedback, etc. I told her I'd contact the manager directly as practically, if she actually cared about customer service, she would've offered support while I was shopping, not only when she thought she might be the recipient of a complaint. My husband shopped for me and his mother at Talbots last December (or tried to) but was utterly ignored, so much so he felt uncomfortable and left. I thought he was over-reacting, but after getting a taste of being ignored entirely, I understand the sentiment. I love Talbots and am happy the Chester store still exists, so I'm hopeful this feedback reaches Isabel and she addresses it as it's very out of character for the store to offer such a bad shopping experience.
