I absolutely love love love Banana King. I've been coming here for years and when it first opened they didn't have a large menu and lots of items to choose from. Fast forward a couple of years and they have since expanded their menu to include bowls, frappes, all types of burgers and so much more. an extremely large menu selection to choose from. Their milkshakes are my favorite! I order the Mamey all the time as it's something my mom made for me growing up in an Hispanic household and something Banana King makes well. The prices are affordable and they're generous with their portions. The eating area is large and has plenty of space and working bathrooms that are easy for everyone to access. The staff speak English and Spanish and are extremely friendly and work fast to make your order. I ordered a bowl for change with all the toppings and a Morir Sonando. 10/10. I truly love this place. They make the most authentic and delicious Colombian fast food. Their burgers are my obsession! I literally want to travel to NJ just for this place. Phew. The low ratings are well-deserved. The menu has no price transparency. There are items posted outside that aren't part of the interior menu, and the interior menu mostly has no prices. There are items that are grouped together that don't have a combo price. They didn't have a part of my order so I asked them to cancel it. She kept trying to give me a lesser refund amount by cash. I caught it on the machine, and had to pull teeth to get her to refund me the appropriate amount, instead of rounding it down by a couple of dollars. Seriously, like three or four back-and-forths because she repeatedly gave me the wrong change and expected me to just accept it. Guess what, that's called theft. It's an illegal and unethical business practice, and it's enough to lose my business forever. Honesty and integrity are what your reputation stands on. The strawberry shake was fantastic, but that's where it ends. Arepas were average, everything else was beyond bland, even terrible. I was very excited about this location since it's very close to where i live and I didn't have to drive far whenever I craved it but I was very disappointed. I was not expecting what I got at all. I ordered two different meals with friends.
